Moral Decency In Disintegration
American Spectator, by Ben Stein

Friday A trip up to the charming town of Sandpoint. It went well except that our flight from SEA to Spokane was postponed for an hour. We took an earlier flight but then my wife’s luggage was not in Spokane. (Snip) We sat at the bar and next to us were two soldiers. One of them was quiet. The other was talkative. He wanted to know if I thought there was much of a future for civilization. “We Americans come from the Enlightenment,” he said. “But how many other countries have the values of respect for law, respect for human dignity, respect

Comments:
There have been many times when I have disagreed with some of the viewpoints of Stein, however this time he really nails it. Stein states: "Obama is another Angry Black Man, better covered up than most, but not a fan of American values of compassion and caring." Whoa! Stein is going to get hate mail on that one!

#3 must have seen the reports on Ben´s seamy phone-text relationship with a young woman he met at the airport in San Francisco. She asked him for money to "help her career" as a "performance artist"; he sent her a thousand or two, told her how much he wanted to "hug and kiss" her (but not eft her -- euphemism supplied, because the word Ben used wouldn´t pass the local filter), invited her to visit him in L.A., then took back the offer when she asked to stay at a four-star hotel -- stingy as well as sleazy.

Never mind the annoyingly self-congratulatory "Ben Stein´s Diary" column that has befouled the pages of the American Spectator lo these many years, offering not much more than a catalogue of his travels (always first-class in every way, he´s careful to let readers know) and his annoyance with the insufficiently servile working-class people he encounters on them.

Or his crackpot notion that anyone who makes more than, what was it, $250,000 a year should be income-taxed at 90%.

If it´s disintegration you want, moral and otherwise, Ben´s your boy. Herb would have been so proud.

To me,the main driver of the moral collapse has been the advent of social which is corrupting millions of kids ito sociopathic behavior.

I heard an ad the other day for a new type phone that specializes in selfies which I personally find disgusting in a lot of cases. They want to encourage young kids into sending nude photos of themselves to depraved people.

Ben has been off the rails for a while (seemed enamored with Obama in the past, and was espousing higher taxes, and all sorts of socialist ideals). Sounds like he make be waking up again.

This is a pretty hard-hitting piece. I still think that, until the talking heads on our side (eg Stein) start to say the things that Allen West is saying, we´ll not be having an honest dialog. Stein comes close... he says that Obama hates American ideals. The next step is to identify Obama as the Islamist that he truly is.

Bill Ayers, according to the right, is Barack Obama’s terrorist trainer and ghostwriter. Upon further inspection, Ayers is nothing quite as dramatic or fearsome. While more famous for his anti-war activities as a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s and ‘70s, he is now a committed educator. Retired from his education professorship at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Ayers continues to give lectures to teachers in training, speak at education conferences and agitate against America’s two-tiered educational system – one for rich, one for poor – on behalf of low-income parents, students and instructors. In early June 1964, a group of Republican governors sought to wrestle control of their party from Barry Goldwater, the Arizona conservative who was about to lead the GOP to one of the most crushing defeats in its history. The governors saw a disaster in the making, and sought a moderate candidate who could capture the imaginations of grassroots Republicans—but also beat President Lyndon Johnson in the general election. Led by Ohio’s James Rhodes—the Republican Governors Association was meeting in Cleveland, and Rhodes was a legendary vote counter—the group included Pennsylvania’s William Scranton and later New York’s Nelson Rockefeller. But what was the logic of propagating to the world videos of its beheadings of two Americans (and subsequently a Briton) — sure to inflame public opinion? There are two possible explanations. One is that these terrorists are more depraved and less savvy than we think. They so glory in blood that they could not resist making an international spectacle of their savagery — after all, they proudly broadcast their massacre of Shiite prisoners — and did not quite fathom how such a
