Rick Perry Indicted:
Another Democratic Party Dirty Trick

Powerline, by John Hinderaker

Original Article

A grand jury in Travis County, Texas, indicted Governor Rick Perry today. Why? For exercising his constitutional prerogative by threatening to veto, and then vetoing, an appropriation to support the public corruption unit in Travis County’s district attorney’s office. This followed the arrest of the county’s district attorney, Democratic Party activist Rosemary Lehmberg, for drunk driving, after she was found “with an open bottle of vodka in the front passenger seat of her car in a church parking lot in Austin.” Ms. Lehmberg served 45 days in jail. The Travis County district attorney’s office has long been a cesspool of corruption.

Republicans should mount a strong counteroffensive in his defense, as they should have for Tom Delay and Scott Walker. The Dem/progressives get away with this stuff only because we let them.

Nevermind, tho, that with each passing day, the squatter fraud in the White House is intentionally and illegally shredding our Constitional on a daily basis. Can my level of disgust and anger at this filthy party be any greater? I guess I´m one of those Homeland Insecurity described as being angry at "perceived government overreach". This drunken pig should be working at Kmart.

Rick Perry will be fine. But, his defenders need to be sure the general public understands what he is in trouble for doing. He robbed no bank and mugged no elderly man. He threatened to veto the funding for this out-of-control-state officeholder. He´s not indicted for the veto, but for the threat.

Mark Levin was raging about this last night and the Democrats´ soviet style abuse of power. He couldn´t be more right. The Democrats are completely destroying this nation and the rule of law.

My fantasy come true would be that a judge would dismiss this case outright saying that Perry´s actions were clearly within a governor´s purview. He would further say that the courts have no time to adjudicate cases that are malicious and politically driven. Of course that is just a fantasy, but who knows, maybe it could happen. I can dream can´t I?

The Left is at war with conservatism while we bicker amongst ourselves over perfect candidates. We better wake up and engage! How about we unite and come to Perry´s defense? This abuse of power has to stop.

This needs to be a Must Read.

Poster 3, I wish I could believe that, I really do. Unless the republican establishment opens it´s feeble mouth, Governor Perry will be left to defend himself and the craven LSM will be right there to keep the lies going, seen it too many times to believe, or hope, otherwise.

I wonder if McConnell, McCain, Graham, or Boehner will dare say anything. No, they won´t, not even defend a republican, not even themselves, because it is those conservatives that are bad, democrats they agree with. So please don´t spoil the revelry at cocktail hour and the society balls, by asking these people to stand for anything, or oppose their democrat friends.

This will backfire so badly, Travis County, Texas will regret it for a long time. How many people saw or even KNEW about the demonrat-D.A. being arrested for drunk driving? How many people saw this despicable woman railing against the officer who was doing his duty? Who knew she was restrained at the jail because she was threatening officers? How many people actually saw her point her fingers in the sign of a GUN at officers? If a 2nd grader had done that, they would have been suspended from school! If the idiots in Travis County had not "indicted" Rick Perry, this would have been forgotten! What a joke! So I say, Good for you Austin! You just keep doing what you are doing so the good Governor will have a LANDSLIDE election in 2016! No...seriously....Thanks!

That makes three GOP governors, all possible 2016 contenders, that have had some kind of contrived Democrat smear brought forth. Perry needs to take control of this right away and use his power of Governor wisely. He should do whatever it takes to put names and faces on this smear campaign. Sunlight has a nice way of cleansing a situation. Like Lois Lerner they need to be held responsible.

#8, I totally agree with you. All Republicans, moderates and conservatives should rally around Rick. This is not about Rick Perry, it´s about our vanishing freedoms and the rule of Law.

When the prior abuserof this office indicted Kay Bailey Hutchison, the trial lasted less than five minutes. As soon as the judge called the DA to present his case, he had to admit that there was no evidence and he had no case to present. You would think that Ronnie Earle would have resigned in embarrassment, but he was still there too drag out the case against DeLay for over four election cycles.

I would love to see Perry call a special session of the Texas legislature and pass a bill to remove authority from the Travis Co DA. But then Tom Strauss, the Speaker of the TX house is unreliable and may side with the Democrats. Tom Strauss must not be re-elected. Texans, contact your state Representative and insist that he vote against Strauss.

But this is Texas and it isn´t over.

As a diversionary tactic from Obama´s myriad failures, this doesn´t cut it. It will be another exploding cigar for Obama and for the Democrat Party. You would think they´d have learned something from the Scott Walker fiasco but apparently, they are a little slow.

Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

With his address to the nation Wednesday evening, President Obama revealed that he is a leader in deep denial about the threat the United States faces, and about the steps that are necessary to deal with it. In his remarks, Obama offered up a series of delusions, each of which point to the ultimate defeat of the United States in the war he has embarked upon. Delusion #1: Obama still thinks ISIS is the JV team. Here’s how he began his speech: We can’t erase every trace of evil from the world, and small groups of killers have the capacity to do great harm. Based on interviews with DNC staffers -- both former and current -- the piece described Wasserman Schultz as something of a modern-day Tracy Flick: over-eager, disloyal and not shy about promoting her ambitions. The U.S Senate passed a bill Thursday evening that will give President Barack Obama the authority to arm moderate Syrian rebels, which is a key part of his plan to fight the jihadist group Islamic State (also known as ISIS and ISIL). Shortly after the Senate passed the bill, which was passed by the House on Wednesday, Obama spoke from the White House. "I´m pleased that Congress, a majority of Democrats and a majority of Republicans in both the House and Senate, have now voted to support a key element of our strategy," Obama said. Romney said in the ad referring to Brown, “will buck his own party to do what’s right for New Hampshire.” Romney’s statement implies that Conservatism can be mean, but rest assured that Brown will push

The U.S. military campaign against Islamist militants in Syria is being designed to allow President Barack Obama to exert a high degree of personal control, going so far as to require that the military obtain presidential signoff for strikes in Syrian territory, officials said. The requirements for strikes in Syria against the extremist group Islamic State will be far more stringent than those targeting
