EPA’s ozone rule threatens
Florida jobs and families

Tampa Tribune, by Anastasia Swearingen

Original Article

In 2011, President Obama famously called for “shared sacrifice” in America. Three years later, his wish might just become the Environmental Protection Agency’s command. In the coming months, Obama’s EPA will decide whether to further tighten air quality requirements, known as the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). If EPA gets its way (to which it is accustomed), the vast majority of the country, including most of Florida, would fall into so-called non-attainment, (when EPA deems air levels “persistently exceed” limits) up from a few isolated regions just five years ago — all while air quality continues to steadily improve.

Comments:
Even though air quality has been steadily improving for decades, all by itself the EPA is taking literally thousands of dollars out of our pockets yearly by senselessly increasing environmental regulations past the point of medical safety to the point of economic ruin. EPA needs to be defederalized and chopped down to size before it causes any more harm.

Next time a government agency is proposed to solve a problem metrics must be written into the authorization to determine what the goals are and when these goals are met the agency is abolished. The EPA would have been gone long ago.

I challenge everyone to look at the regions that don´t meet the current standards. You will see the most egregious violator is California. Yep, the state that keeps insisting the regulations keep getting ratcheted down. How can they condemn the rest of the nation to this pain when they seemingly don´t make any effort to comply themselves. The science of the situation is that sunlight intensity is the chief factor in ozone creation. That means CA, TX, and FL face the greatest challenge. TX and FL have largely met the prior standard. Lets hold where we are at until CA can manage to comply.

Just like in Communist nations at present and in the past, today´s EPA, under the aegis of the Progressive American regime, seeks one thing above all else: CONTROL over every single aspect of your life. The second thing the regime seeks is to create dependence so that that control is much easier to attain. Where in the constitution are such powers commandeered by this government explicitly enunciated?
This does not really matter to the SHEEP, who concern themselves with sports and inane TV shows. ANYTHING not to think too hard, because thinking IS hard. And sleeping is easy. The government KNOW this and acts accordingly, stealing a little more of our freedom every day.

If it comes to air it needs to be measured from whence it came.

In Texas a few years ago the EPA tried this ´non attainment´ crapola when in fact Mexico was burning many fields (their practice every year) and the winds blew all the polution into Texas.

Our Mayor rightly said the EPA finding was illegitemate and would not be followed. The EPA argued a bit but to no avail and crawfished back into their hole. The same applies here, there is NO accounting for the source of the polution, if it lands in your community due to winds the EPA wants to punish the victim.

The signs of the times as read by the Roger Cohen of New York Times at least in his piece The Great Unraveling throw shadows upon a doubtful scene. (Snip) It was a time of catastrophe because it was equally a time of folly. For it was a time when people got Nobel Prizes unearned by achievement; when people reviled their heritage the better to free themselves of the past as well as the future. It was time when they cast away the victory of the Cold War and the result of the Second in the vague belief they could

TAMPA — Investigators from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission say they have solved the mystery of what happened when an alligator bit a woman last month while she was in her canoe on the Hillsborough River. Andrea Reese and a friend, Morgan Fusselman, were vacationing from Youngstown, Ohio, when they decided to rent a canoe at John Sargeant Park on Aug. 7. The two women had paddled for about 45 minutes and were outside park boundaries when an alligator jumped partway into the canoe and bit Reese on the calf and thigh. The attack surprised wildlife officials because the

The sheer ruthlessness and ferocity of Islamic-style warfare was underscored by the decimation of ISIS’ main rival by persons unknown. The punditry struggled to find something enlightening to say about president Obama’s strategy to degrade … defeat … inconvenience … manage ISIS — whatever you want to call it — because there was almost nothing to hold on to. Richard Epstein at the Hoover Institution has an interesting article on president Obama’s apparent reluctance to use certain kinds of force to defeat ISIS. These characterizations are beside the point. In reality all good security decisions — even those that use war or violence as much as those which do not to attain their aims are ultimately violence

In a few days president Obama will unveil his strategy to destroy ISIS to a waiting public. (Snip) However the basic outlines of the strategy itself have emerged from information already available to the press. A Los Angeles Times story suggests that Obama will rely on proxies to fight ISIS at three levels: on the ground, within the region and in the West. Kerry invokes comparisons to the Sunni Awakening, seeking to recall the days when al-Qaeda in Iraq was beaten by George Bush. Obama plans to organize the Sunni Arabs to fight ISIS.

But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder. Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked?
