Hillary Clinton´s Authenticity Problem
Weekly Standard, by Jay Cost

Original Article

A friend of mine and I were discussing Hillary Clinton’s putative presidential candidacy over email, and he flagged for me a YouTube video of a debate from the fall of 2007. In it, Tim Russert queried her thusly: Senator Clinton, Governor of New York Eliot Spitzer has proposed giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. You told the Nashua, N.H., editorial board it makes a lot of sense. Why does it make a lot of sense to give an illegal immigrant a driver’s license? To which Clinton responded: Well, what Governor Spitzer is trying to do is fill the vacuum left by the failure

Thanks to Bill, she´s had to make believe she wasn´t married to a crook and serial philanderer for several decades now.
Now, after having been complicit in several debacles while serving the worst president in U.S. History, she has to make believe she had nothing to do with it.
.....and don´t even get me started on her history of being caught in numerous lies, scandals and other unethical power plays over the past 30 years.

Who the hell does this woman think she´s fooling?

Completely dishonest, unethical, criminal, power-mad, power-hungry, vicious, vengeful, and hateful.

Other than that, she´s fine.

Ms. Hillary Rodham´s "authenticity problem" began forty-nine years ago, that fateful day in 1965, when she "deserted" the ranks of the Park Ridge, Illinois "Goldwater Girls" and headed due east for her eventual "rendezvous with destiny"---a chance encounter with a hillbilly draft dodger in the Yale Law School Library.

The basic problem with Hillary is that, like Oakland, there is no "there" there. No core ethics. No essence of personality. Everything is situational, made up on the fly. And moments later, made up entirely differently.

And like Oakland, the parts that can be seen are shabby and inhabited by random criminality.

IMO none of this matters. If she runs she will win the women´s vote and win the election just like in the 2000 Senate race (59%). The MSM will cover for her and the LOFO´s will go wild to help elect the first woman president. Things can change but as it is now if she runs she wins....

What bothers me the most is the simple fact that Republicans are well known for their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. And they will probable do the same this time around. They will fined who ever the establishment types decide is the next in line, nominate him (don´t look for any female type) and there goes another election. After all, they´ve been doing it for years now.

I am so glad this was brought up. Hillary´s inevitability was first shaken NOT by Obama but by Dodd in that debate. She is not a good candidate. I don´t think there is any inevitability to her as even the nominee. I think Warren could damage her badly. Maybe even beat her. I used to be a lib. I know who I would have voted for.

What Clinton couldn´t say out loud while talking about driver´s licenses for illegal aliens is that under the Clinton era Motor Voter Bill, people newly registered to drive are also registered to vote, and Democrats´ recent electoral successes were buttressed--if not made possible--by non-citizens´ illegal votes. Don´t think that every D.C. Democrat doesn´t know that. It´s their ace up the sleeve.

Nearly a dozen donors who once cut checks to Democrat Steve Grossman have poured cash into Republican Charlie Baker’s war chest since last week’s gubernatorial primary — further evidence, Baker backers say, of the blue tide they expect to go red in the governor’s race. “After the Democratic primary, and Steve Grossman didn’t make it, my phone rang all the way home from Dorchester to Springfield and the following day from Democrats calling me saying they would be supporting Baker,” said Springfield City Councilor Tim Rooke, a Democrat who voted for Grossman and is now endorsing Baker. “There is definitely

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Florida – Mike Huckabee bought a beachfront lot here in 2009, a year after his failed bid for the Republican presidential nomination. A longtime friend and political ally of the former Arkansas governor bought the lot next door. They planned to build $3 million vacation villas side-by-side, each with a pool and sweeping views of Walton County’s renowned sugary sand beaches and the azure waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The only hitch was that their lots lay on a severely eroding beach. Under state regulations, they couldn’t build on the seaward side of the sand dune nearest

Who lost Iraq? In so many words, that is now the increasingly potent counter to years of liberal charges that America’s problems in the world can be traced to the Bush-Cheney foreign policy — specifically the invasion of 2003. The question has now taken root, with “Iraq” serving as shorthand for everything from Iraq itself to ISIS, the Syrian mess, Benghazi, and more. Graphically illustrated by the beheadings of two American journalists, a British aid worker, ISIS armies causing chaos in the once-stabilized region. Not to mention the murder of a 19-year old New Jersey college student Brendan Tevlin by

When are boots on the ground not boots on the ground? When they’re in Iraq. You’d be forgiven for being confused about the role of the U.S. military in combating the Islamic State, the band of militants who’ve taken over territory in Iraq and Syria. The Obama administration has announced a plan to roll back its advances with U.S. airstrikes combined with the ground forces of local allies, specifically Kurdish and Iraqi forces. There will be no U.S. boots on the ground, President Barack Obama said, as recently as today. “I want to be clear: The American forces that have been deployed to

Suddenly, it feels like 2002. Democrats got creamed in midterm elections that year because the women voters they had relied on throughout the Clinton years deserted them. In 2000, women favored Democratic congressional candidates by nine points. In 2002, that advantage disappeared entirely. The biggest reason: 9/11. In polls that year, according to Gallup, women consistently expressed more fear of terrorism that men. And that fear pushed them toward the GOP, which they trusted far more to keep the nation safe. As then-Senator Joe Biden declared after his party’s midterm shellacking, “soccer moms are security moms now.” Unfortunately for President Obama,

Coalition? What coalition? Arab would-be allies in the fight against the Islamic State say (at best): Maybe. Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and other US-allied Arab regimes have sufficient reason to fight the jihadis that threaten their leaders’ hold on power. But they no longer trust America to lead them: We’ve let them down too many times these last five years. Qatar, on the other hand, has long supported extremists nearly as bad as ISIS (or ISIL as governments worldwide for some reason prefer). Yes, it’s recently started to at least pretend that it’s ready to expel the Muslim Brotherhood leaders and

The Democrats and the institutional left have a new political tool that allows them virtually to ignore moderates yet still win elections. This tool, the Catalist database, was employed in the 2012 election. That election defied conventional wisdom: Mitt Romney sought and won independent voters overwhelmingly, but still lost. If you wondered why the conventional wisdom about independents and moderates didn’t seem so wise in 2012, the answer is Catalist. Beyond winning elections, Catalist also allows the Democrats to turn the policy narrative upside down and suffer no political consequence for implementing radical policies which appeal to their base.
