It’s Not Easy Being White!
Power Line, by John Hinderaker

Original Article

Americans of Middle Eastern and North African descent, sometimes abbreviated as “MENA,” have a problem: they are white. In today’s world, that is a bad thing, as Pew explains: [F]or the census, since the beginning of the last century, the MENA community has been lumped into the “white” category. (snip) What’s more, some argue, being classified as “white” prohibits the MENA community from taking advantage of the benefits that come with minority status—including local, state and federal programs that give a leg up to minority-owned businesses in awarding government contracts. This brings a whole new meaning to “white flight”!

There are few things that can happen to you that are worse than being given protected group status under civil rights law. It forces you into a victim mentality while causing your fellow man to look at your achievements with suspicion, which re-enforces your victim mentality. The fact that white males are the only group exempt from being a protected group ensures the continued dominance of white males. I suspect the elite white males figured this out a long time ago.

I am white...worked every day for 50 years and am retired....BUT I get 5% off at Kroger every ´senior day´.

I guess that is all the affirmative action that I will ever receive.

Swiss reject switch from

Swiss voters on Sunday rejected a plan for a seismic shift from the country´s all-private health insurance system to a state-run scheme. Referendum results showed that almost 62 percent of voters had shot down a reform pushed by left-leaning parties which say the current private system is busting the budgets of ordinary residents. The results also underlined the national divisions over the hotly-contested issue as the country´s German-speaking regions voted against the plan, while their French-speaking counterparts were in favour. Switzerland´s private insurance lobby hailed the vote. "The Swiss population does not want a single national scheme," said the Swiss

Just three years after France´s upper house Senate made history with its first ever swing to the left, the right is expected to claw back a majority Sunday in a new setback for Socialist President Francois Hollande. The far-right National Front could also win a seat for the first time, as more than 87,500 regional and local elected officials nationwide vote for their preferred candidate, six months after the Socialists suffered a drubbing in municipal polls that saw the right make significant gains.

For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist.
