California Is About To Pass A
Bizarre Law Making Sex A Legalistic
Nightmare For College Males

Daily Caller, by Eric Owens

California lawmakers are poised to enact a regulation requiring every college and university that receives public funding to define consensual sex in a way that attempts to micro-manage everyone’s sexual affairs. The first-in-the-nation legislation already passed California’s state Senate by a vote of 27-4 in May, The Associated Press reports. If the bill passes the assembly this month, it will then go to the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown. The bill, which is based on guidance from the Obama administration, requires an “affirmative consent standard” that school administrators would use to determine whether a sexual assault has occurred. The standard would define

Honestly, in a day and age where every college student has a phone with video, all a guy has to do is tape her saying she is doing this of her own accord. And if she says no, take a shower.

Sloppy reporting. Leaves out the fact that Democrats control every bit of California state government. Ergo, this is Lefty control madness that we´ve grown so accustomed to.
Remember when Lefties abhorred the notion of the government in the bedroom. No more, they barge into every aspect of life, with impunity, leaving a mess of bad policy and unintended consequences in their wake.

Only the Obama administration would think that it could micromanage sex among college students and thereby determine what is or is not assault. What hubris!

And out Dem "lawmakers" are such patsies for whatever O wants.s

Unfortunately the House has a Dem majority - most recently 69% according to Wikipedia. But perhaps there are some sane Democrats there?

Seriously though, college men will need to have their lawyers execute binding contracts prior to sex. How romantic is that?

This "bizarre" law should apply to both hetero- and homo- conduct. Otherwise, it would be discriminatory.

Who knows - maybe some aggressive females will be charged with assault on males. /s

And why is society/government giving official recognition to such an activity?

Clearly what is needed here is a legal form entitled "Consent to have sex with me" that would have to be signed by both parties before they do the nasty. In most cases that would cover whatever poped up later on.

Sorry to burst your bubble but unbeknownst to virtually all, sex is currently a legalistic nightmare for young teens. Neither party is technically able to consent. If the age difference is 2 years, the older teen is liable for statutory rape. If the girl invites the boy over, shows him to the bed, strips, helps him strip, but decides at the end of foreplay that this is a bad idea, she can say stop and he must obey. If he doesn´t stop, her claim that she said stop is sufficient to bring assault charges. In the juvenile system that first step is a custody hearing to determine whether the boy can remain in parental custody until psychiatric evaluation and eventual trial. Next comes juvenile probation and alternative school. After 2 months of juvenile probation, the DA finally allowed a grand jury to hear the case (not the procedure in a juvenile case) and they reported back that they didn´t believe either the girl or my son, but recommended against prosecution.

California is merely clarifying the rules. The claim of rape is presumed to be true by those investigating and prosecuting the case. If it is made, the guy is in serious trouble.

Furthermore, pity the poor Cali college women who now majorly outnumber the men in those schools. Now with this law they´ll get even less forthcoming, forthright male attention. Congressional Republicans cannot do much to make President Obama devise a credible strategy to defeat the Islamic State, or to counter Russian expansionism. There is one thing they can do, however, to contribute to the recovery of American strength overseas, particularly if they take the Senate this fall. They can make it clear that they intend for the next president to have the military means at his disposal to meet whatever threats we face. Those capabilities are steadily and quickly eroding. Budget cuts will force the Army to further scale back training for units based in the United States, allowing only

It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today.
