Experts in ’13: Rapist
ready to be released

Boston Herald, by Erin Smith

Serial rapist Essie L. Billingslea — now accused of brutally raping an Arlington woman in her home — convinced a Suffolk jury to free him last year thanks in part to three taxpayer-funded experts who testified, among other things, that the Level 3 sex offender was a changed man who was too old and sick to be a threat to public safety, according to court records. “I think he struggles in treatment, sometimes pushing the envelope, if you will. But, nonetheless, I think there’s been change in the man, and I think it’s been sufficient so that we don’t any longer

Comments:
Remarkable, though sadly a tale told again and again. In a sane society, these predators would never see the light of day, and if they did, the "experts" and judges who set them free would bear culpability when the demons strike again.

Makes me wonder how many other similar cases resulted from the advice and persuasion of these "experts".

If he had raped my wife or daughter, I would not mind him being released from prison. It would be HIGHLY unlikely that he would be able to rape anyone, ever again.

Give him a choice. He can stay in prison or, if he wants to be released, he can be, but only after all of his "equipment" has been removed. ALLf it.

The American who coordinates the Islamic State’s online propaganda efforts was caught on tape by the FBI in 2006 plotting “peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches” from “culinary school” — code for terrorist attacks and training camps. The phone and online conversations give a chilling look inside the head of a homegrown terrorist. The CIA says at least 2,000 of the estimated 31,500 jihadists the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has recruited are from America and other Western nations. Ahmad Abousamra, the ISIS recruiter-propagandist who sits on the FBI’s most-wanted list, communicated with a cell of jihadists in the Boston area.

Drivers are graded pass, fail or needs fixing. Since tuition fees were increased in September 2012, many Muslim students have been put off continuing their education as it was expected the loans, which are paid back above the rate of inflation, would be used to cover the rising costs - contrary to their beliefs. Following a four-month consultation, a new Sharia-friendly model which involves Muslim students paying a donation into a pool system instead of paying interest has been produced by the Department

This week, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slandered a group of Middle Eastern Christians who were trying to raise awareness of their struggle to avoid a genocide in the Middle East. His cynical grandstanding was rightly condemned — but he was hardly alone. Cruz agreed to speak to this group, which included bishops of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, ostensibly out of solidarity, but took the occasion to antagonize them over their insufficient praise for Israel, then smeared them as anti-Semites before dropping the mic. The Washington Free Beacon publicized this flameout — their publisher said the room

Voter turnout during last month´s primary races was a little too good in some counties, Arizona elections officials said Friday. Some precincts in northern Arizona tallied more ballots cast than there are registered voters, the Arizona Capitol Times reported. According to officials, errors made by poll workers and elections officials in Apache and Navajo counties led to the miscalculations. Initial reports from some precincts showed a turnout of anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434

Let’s start with the end. When it’s over — when you make it through the marathon that is Ken Burns’s beautiful, seven-part documentary “The Roosevelts: An Intimate History,” which begins Sunday night on PBS — you may find yourself with a lingering, nebulous grief. You’re sorry it’s over. You’re sorry they’re over. You’re sorry a certain expression of American ideals is, or often appears to be, completely over. My study habits haven’t improved since college; like an idiot, I put off watching all 14 hours of “The Roosevelts” until I absolutely had to watch them on a deadline binge this week.
