Rick Perry: Cartels and gangs
are really "narcoterrorists"

CBS News, by Rebecca Kaplan

Original Article

Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, praised a group of National Guard troops as the "tip of the spear" in the fight against cartels and gangs as they prepare to deploy to the U.S. border with Mexico. Moreover, Perry said that U.S. officials should "stop calling these criminals nice names like cartels and gangs" and start calling them "what they really are: these are narcoterrorists."Perry announced last month that he was activating up to 1,000 National Guard troops to send to the border to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in fighting drug cartels. They are also meant to help

CBS just trying to cover up the fact that they have not reported the truth about the illegals. Narcoterrorists are not the reason for the NG troops but the lie helps CBS cover-up the truth for Obama.

Love ya, Rick - - but - - you´ve got to tell the truth about what the solution is - - namely - - the complete decriminalization of narcotic drugs.

The day narcotic drugs are decriminalized is the same day the "narcoterrorists" will disappear.

It´s so easy - - why not tell the truth?

There is a lovely doctrine called the Doctrine of unintended consequences. People that state "just make everything legal" will, if their advice is followed, be surprised how bad the consequences of having everything legal will be. I do not believe that everyone that advocates for all being legal are bad people with bad intentions, but I just do not believe the good will outweigh the bad from that action. Could be wrong, but I sure do not think so.

Legalization - - decriminalization - - end of Prohibition - - whatever we choose to call it - - will result in the instant demise of drug gangs and drug gang violence - - just as it did with the legalization of alcoholic beverages.

No one has been killed over the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages for over 80 years.

Stupidity and self-destructiveness cannot be successfully outlawed. There will always be stupid and self-destructive people - - that´s the lot of the human race. Giving the government power to prohibit sale, distribution and usage of substances only makes the problem worse - - not better. Just as giving the government control over economic problems only makes them worse.

A free market - - where there are no drug gangs and no jackbooted government thugs - - cannot possibly be worse than the present horrible situation. And in fact - - will be much much better. Not only in terms of crime and safety - - but also for the health of our Constitutional freedoms.

The TXNG mission is hardly the sharp tip of a pointy stick. Perry may be doing more than the Federal government...that´s hardly saying much. According to Texas Adjutant General John Nichols, the troops COULD detain people IF ASKED. The Feds aren´t asking. He said they are planning to play a "referring and deterring" role by deterring cartels with their visible presence and referring any immigrants suspected of being in the country illegally to DPS. Big deal. Perry is all hat.

#5 -- "Giving the government power to prohibit sale, distribution and usage of substances only makes the problem worse - - not better...."

Precisely. Does anyone here actually believe that, if cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamines (to name just a few) are decriminalized, the government won´t organize and legislate their "sale, distribution, and usage"? Hint: take a close look at any pack of cigarettes or bottle of liquor. That tax-stamp thingy isn´t there for decorative purposes.

And, last I heard, people are still smuggling unstamped cigs and making moonshine.

INDIANOLA, Iowa — It was a preview of coming distractions. When Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton decided to return to the state where her presidential ambitions first came undone six years ago, the idea was that they would remind Democratic activists about the importance of the midterm elections and honor their host, Senator Tom Harkin, Democrat of Iowa, who is retiring from Congress and held his final steak fry fund-raiser here Sunday. And that was what transpired, in part, on a sun-splashed day on a balloon field here, just south of Des Moines. But as is often the case wherever

Former President Bill Clinton railed against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Sunday and framed the midterm elections as more broadly about defining “the terms in which we will relate to each other and relate to the rest of the world.” Speaking at Sen. Tom Harkin’s (D-Iowa) annual steak fry fundraiser, Clinton said while much had improved in America, one problem still prevailed: “We don’t want to be around anyone that disagrees with us.” "We’ve got to pull this country together to push this country forward,” he went on to declare. Sioux City, Iowa -In a campaign so far defined by hogs and chickens, the race for the open Iowa Senate seat that most expected to fall to Democrats is now perhaps the closest in the country. And with the control of the Senate majority at stake in the upcoming election, Democrats are dispatching their biggest stars to help, starting Sunday with Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Democratic candidate Rep. Bruce Braley, a four-term congressman, was once the front-runner to succeed Democratic powerhouse Sen. Tom Harkin. But Braley has spent the last few weeks trying to regain the upper hand after some

Voter turnout during last month´s primary races was a little too good in some counties, Arizona elections officials said Friday. Some precincts in northern Arizona tallied more ballots cast than there are registered voters, the Arizona Capitol Times reported. According to officials, errors made by poll workers and elections officials in Apache and Navajo counties led to the miscalculations. Initial reports from some precincts showed a turnout of anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434
