It’s the Loyalty, Stupid
New York Times, by Maureen Dowd

WASHINGTON — I talked to Robin Williams once, about breasts. In 1993, when he played a prim British nanny in “Mrs. Doubtfire,” I went to interview him at his Pacific Heights house. “It’s great to be this blue-mouthed old lady hitting on somebody,” he said, in his character’s soft Scottish burr, “opening your blouse and saying, ‘What about these? Behold my dirty pillows, my fun bags. Come nurse at the fountain of bliss.’ ”He was 42 then, wearing his Popeye outfit, a blue-striped T-shirt and black baggy jeans. Surrounded by kids, a rabbit and an iguana, we talked about everything

Replete with self-brags and name-dropping, Maureen´s "column" reads like something she ripped out of a 13 year old´s diary. When she penned this, it was probably filled with double underlined words, multiple exclamation points, and little angry faces in the margins.

It must be confusing being a "progressive" nowadays. I never talked with Robin Williams about breasts, but I understood that Barack Hussein was an ill-intentioned fool. If Hilaria is the nominee (and this time, I´m sure she´s already making sure she will be) it will be fun to read Maureen´s incoherent mea culpa.

I call bait and switch! Ms. Dowd starts with a few funny stories about Robin Williams, and then suddenly lays into Bush and Hillary and everything else she´s been railing about for years.

Don´t bother with this typically dreadful rant from The New York Times´s crazy spinster columnist. What a nutter.

She´s trying to riff somewhat like Robin Williams. I was already thinking of Michael Kelly and others whom we´ve lost and she went and mentioned him. Michael Kelly, Oriana Fallaci, Tony Snow, I used to keep a list. Breitbart joined them. These were some of those who went out into the fields. The ancient Marathon is run again in each of their names, as they leave us. Carrying the news. The Russians keep going back to tyranny. We will go back to freedom.

Meanwhile, Robin Williams. Decades ago I was bored, turned the TV on and, at random, caught the first broadcast of the first episode of Mork and Mindy. Here was this guy light-years ahead in the direction that I was trying to take my sense of humor, the quick shifts, the turning on a dime, I gave up after that! He was prolly a lib, oh well. His impression of Buckley was incredible. What´s to cohere here? R.I.P.

This is a disorganized mess, but apparently it´s okay to bash Hillary, even if she is a female dem.

Most interesting tidbit? Hillary resigned from Young Republicans due to the Vietnam war.
Didn´t she know the democrats were running that war?

Last month, Max Shireson gave up his job running a billion-dollar startup to spend more time with his family. And he couldn’t be happier. Schireson’s departure from Internet database company MongoDB Inc., which he announced in a blog post that quickly went viral, became a catalyst for a discussion that rarely takes place in the national media: the challenges faced by fathers as they attempt to balance work and family. I was thrilled by that. As a scholar, advocate and consultant in the area, Schireson’s story resonated with me. And the more we acknowledge the importance these issues, the better

“Too Big To Fail” has never been applied to a besieged nation torn apart by sectarian factions, but let’s try it here: Afghanistan’s government recently asked the US for a $537 million bailout to pay its bills, and they’d like it within the next “five to six” days. “We hope they will pay for us, and we are asking at once,” Alhaj M. House Republicans emerged from a Tuesday morning conference meeting predicting a proposal to arm Syrian rebels to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) will pass — but only if Democrats provide significant support. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon (R-Calif.) said he wasn’t sure his amendment granting President Obama’s request for congressional authority would be backed by a majority of Republican lawmakers, many of whom expressed deep reservations about the plan. And Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), a member close to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), predicted that Democrats would have to supply a significant number of votes

Among the many metrics that show Obama´s home state is struggling to break the Great Recession, a new report shows that applications for food stamps in Illinois is greater than its creation of jobs. Illinois has had the worst recovery from the recession of any state in the country, the Illinois Policy Institute reported this month: "There are nearly 300,000 fewer Illinoisans working today than in January 2008, and 170,000 fewer payroll jobs. But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked?
