Former Vice President Dick Cheney criticized President Barack Obama’s handling of the crisis in Iraq and said that the president probably isn’t reading his intelligence briefings. In an interview set to air on Tuesday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show,” Cheney agreed with Charles Krauthammer’s claim that the president is “strategically clueless,” adding that President Obama doesn’t think that US power is beneficial, but rather “part of the problem.” And maintaining that President Obama does not “have the same fundamental set of beliefs that most of our presidents have held over the years.” Cheney added that President Obama’s past statements that ISIS was “JV”

Poll: Fewer Than One Third of Americans
View Obama as Friendly to Religion
Breitbart Big Government, by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.    Original Article

Some 70% of Americans do not designate the Obama administration as friendly toward religion, according to a Pew poll released Monday. The share of Americans that sees the Obama administration as friendly toward religion took a dramatic drop to 30% from 37% in 2009. The percentage that rates the administration hostile to religion increased from 17% in 2009 to 29% in the latest poll. These findings come from a new survey by the Pew Research Center, conducted Sept. 2-9 among 2,002 U.S. adults. Some of this suspicion of Obama seems related to the administration’s perceived hostility toward religious liberty, manifested

This has been a big year for gay rights in America. In state after state, either judges or voters have affirmed the constitutionality of same-sex marriage, and public support for gay unions reached an all-time high. But there´s still a tension between the acknowledgement of gay rights and the acceptance of gayness itself. A new Pew poll on religion in public life found that exactly half of respondents said they consider "homosexual behavior" sinful, a five-percentage-point increase since May 2013. This view is most prominent among white evangelicals and black protestants; more than three-quarters of each group said they see

Hundreds of Catholic protestors prayed and sang outside a satanic “black mass” held in a small theater in the Civic Center in Oklahoma City on Sunday, while only 42 ticket holders showed up to attend the event inside. As NewsOK reports, about 1,600 Roman Catholics gathered Sunday afternoon to bear witness to their Christian faith, 1,200 of them crowded into the sanctuary, gym, and cafeteria at St. Francis of Assisi Church for a holy hour prayer service convened by Archbishop Paul S. Coakley. About 400 more gathered outside the church to listen to the service through speakers set up outside.

A new study released Monday found that warming temperatures in Pacific Ocean waters off the coast of North America over the past century closely followed natural changes in the wind, not increases in greenhouse gases related to global warming. The study compared ocean surface temperatures from 1900 to 2012 to surface air pressure, a stand-in for wind measurements, and found a close match. "What we found was the somewhat surprising degree to which the winds can explain all the wiggles in the temperature curve," said lead author Jim Johnstone, who did the work while a climatologist at the Joint Institute

The United Nations Climate Summit will begin in New York this Tuesday, but environmental activists didn’t wait. It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.
