Gene Simmons on immigration:
´Learn to speak the g*****n language´

Independent [UK], by Ella Alexander

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 8/12/2014 3:14:20 PM

Gene Simmons says that immigrants should learn to speak English if they “want to unlock the keys to the kingdom”. The Kiss frontman was born in Israel and moved to New York with his mother when he was eight-years-old. (Snip) “In America, I could think what I wanted to think, do as I pleased and reach for the stars. In America, I’ve learned, you have an inferred judiciary duty to learn how to speak English. “Get rid of your accent,” he continued. “I did. Be a legal immigrant. I’m a legal immigrant. Come to the country, just buckle your knees a little bit, make an effort to learn about the culture, assimilate to the point that you can.”

Comments:
I´ve said it before. My parents were wise NOT to give me a Spanish first name, nor allow me to learn or speak it at home. Therefore, no accent and a great understanding of what an American citizen is. (Unfortunately, my "looks" lead to "discrimination" every so often, but don´t care).

I´ve become acquainted with quite a number of illegals thru our church; I´m sorry to say that they have no intention whatsoever of learning English (they stick to themselves). They do nothing but speak of their "homes" as if someone forced them to come here; they speak openly of how much they hate America; I understand enuf Spanish to interpret what they´re saying. I´ve decided I´m going to start asking them why don´t they just go the HELL HOME!!

Immigrants do speak English. The illegal aliens do not. Why? They are very lazy people. The illegal aliens were too lazy to follow our immigration laws to get here, like a million other people do, every year. Those million are immigrants. Illegal aliens are not immigrants.

Back in the 60´s I was an ex-pat living in Germany. I had many German friends because I speak several different German dialects. Half of my friends refused to believe I was American even tho I showed them my passport with a work and residence visa. Why? Because I learned not only their language but their culture.

Wow, Gene is about to get crucified by the left.

Anytime anyone speaks using logic, reason and facts the way Gene did here, the lie-berals go into meltdown. They HATE logic, reason and facts, because nothing lie-berals believe has any basis in log, reason or facts.

Lie-berals only understand how something feels. And you know they are not going to like how Gene´s little speech there is going to make them feel...

I spoke Hebrew, bad Yiddish, high school Arabic and high school English when I arrived in the USA, as did my wife.

After two years, I think I got a 31 out of 32 on the English part of the ACT back in the day and a 750/800 on the verbal on the SAT.

It´s not that hard.

I had a friend in HS who had a strange situation. He was born to German parents who divorced when he was 7 or 8. His mom subsequently married an American GI and he was raised in that household. Thus, he spoke German fluently but with an American accent, and he spoke American fluently but with a German accent. Neither group completely accepted him.

I went to a college prep boarding school (a few of us were local) with most students from other countries; Cuba, Equador, Spain, etc.

One friend from Mexico City did not speak one word of English when she arrived (sophomore year) yet, by the following school year her knowledge & pronunciation was PERFECT! She now lives in New York and has written several books, mostly in English.

I have lived in Quito, Ecuador for the past 3 years. The first thing I did was to take an intensive Spanish course at the Catholic University. I feel that I can communicate with the locals pretty well. I continue to practice. There are quite a few American expats here that have not bothered to learn Spanish, which really irks me. A person who lives in a country not their own should at least make an attempt to speak the native language.

Amen.

# 3 Not all immigrants speak English. Some here been here for over 20 years, work here, and can´t speak a word of English. Especially Mexicans and Puerto Ricans. Usually, it is always those south of US that can´t and won´t.

Imagine how hard it is for Germans, Chinese and Japanese to learn English. Yet they do.
Many Europeans are taught English in school because...it´s the official international language. Imagine an international pilot not speaking English.

Time and time again Congress has voted not to make English our official language.

Why would they learn English if they don´t have to ? The driver´s license test is given in Spanish. Welfare forms are in multiple languages. Everyone accommodates them.

I have a student working for me from Mongolia. He taught himself English and speaks it with more and more confidence every day. He´s a good kid and a hard worker. I am very proud of him.
Gene Simmons came to America with no English and fell in love with the country. He is a staunch supporter of the troops and a fierce patriot.

The Nusra Front, al-Qaeda´s affiliate in Syria, has killed one of the Lebanese soldiers it had been holding in captivity, according to Lebanese security sources and a Twitter statement. The killing of the soldier, if confirmed, will be the first to have been carried out by the Nusra Front, which along with ISIL is holding over a dozen more Lebanese soldiers captive. Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

A Texas court has thrown out a law prohibiting ‘up the skirt’ photography, on the grounds the previous ruling violated Texas’ citizens’ constitutional right to freedom of expression. The Texas Court of Appeals ruled 8-1 to strike down part of a law which bans taking images of another person in public without their consent and with the intention to “arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person”, criticising the “paternalistic” intrusion into peoples’ private right to be aroused. One is that these terrorists are more depraved and less savvy than we think. They so glory in blood that they could not resist making an international spectacle of their savagery — after all, they proudly broadcast their massacre of Shiite prisoners — and did not quite fathom how such a
