So Begins World War IV?
American Spectator, by Jeffrey Lord

Is World War IV on the verge of beginning? With President Obama in the role of the reluctant leader whose actions have invited global catastrophe? [Snip]The Obama inability — the unwillingness — to recognize that ISIS and all of radical Islam are about a merciless war of butchery to establish a global caliphate is merely the latest manifestation of an anti-war movement mentality that always lacks what Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls “moral clarity.” Or what de Gaulle called the perpetual belief that “passion and self-interest, the root

This article is more than a great review of 20th century war history. If you think you missed WWIII, read the article and get prepared. Lord concludes the article by saying "Whatever the response to ISIS it now may in fact be too little too late."

Seriously - I remember waaay back when there was a discussion about whether Armageddon was close, the objection was that the end would not come until there actually WAS an Israel. Then there came Israel. Then it was that at the end, Israel would stand alone, abandoned by all the world and attacked by an army of millions. The critics said that can´t be any time soon, because the United States would never abandon Israel, so it must be far in the future. Doesn´t see so far off now, does it?

Deceptively simple in its complexity. If only the beginning of WW1 were that simple, the players and motivations that transparent, and the secret treachery non-existent.

"Ronald Reagan’s way of expressing de Gaulle was called ´peace through strength.´”

Except that what Mr. Lord is advocating is NOT peace, through strength or otherwise. He is advocating war. He is advancing the position that it is essential that America wade headlong BACK into a bloody conflict between Sunnis and Shias. And why should Mr. Lord expect a different outcome this time? Why would he expect that Muslims would not again unite against the common enemy, that "great satan, the Christian United States?

Arm the Kurds to the teeth so that they can defend themselves and repel ISIS, and then just let the Sunnis and Shias have at it.

FTA: The passion and self-interest of Islamic radicals, the endless embracing of death, whether strapping bombs to their own children or beheading the children of others, is but one sign of what lies ahead.

this SHOULD command attention - sad to say it will be buried on the net.

Islamic "radicals" are the cohort who most closely (and openly) follow the teaching of the Koran. All muslims are commanded to follow the same teaching - I believe that´s a big reason why we don´t hear any anti-radical criticism from American muslims. Those guys "over there" are just doing what they´re all supposed to be doing. And who is to say that American muslims really feel much differently. The longer this goes on without any US muslim cleric making comment, the more I believe they´re all in perfect agreement with ISIS/ISIL...

The religion of peace may devour it´s own into perpetuity for my money. Since the first Gulf War the Americans have been the saps in this. We took out Iran´s enemy, twice, and to what end? And what did we make of the Iraq-Afganistan pincers we formed around Iran? No policy or will to win - that´s America´s strategeric foreign policy since 1990.

#5, with all due respect, war is the right response. We should send troops and tanks back in and take back what was ours before O gave it away. This is much easier than Vietnam, where we were fighting the Russians and the Chinese along with the Viet Cong.
Unfortunately, the anti-war, isolationist strain permeates the right as well as the left, just like the author says.

Lately it’s hard to take John Boehner and his Coppertone tan seriously. However, when it appeared that the House Majority Speaker was proactively taking the wind out of Barack Obama’s ‘they want to impeach me’ sails, there was a glimmer of hope that someone on the right had actually grown a spine.

A month before former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called for President Barack Obama to be impeached on the pages of Breitbart News over his lawlessness on illegal immigration, Obama was already concerned that his unilateral actions on immigration could warrant impeachment. He even kind of joked with pro-amnesty activists not to push him to do something that would get him impeached.

In her just-released memoir, 27 year-old "Girls" star Lena Dunham claims that as a 19 year-old Oberlin College student in Ohio, she was raped by a college Republican. In the first chapter that addresses the encounter, Dunham describes the "ill-fated evening of lovemaking" as awkward and hollow. The most sensational moment comes from the fact that "Barry" wasn´t wearing a condom. In the next chapter, Dunham backtracks with the claim that she´s an "unreliable narrator" and accuses "Barry" of rape: [I]n another essay in this book I describe a sexual encounter with a mustachioed campus Republican as the upsetting but

Deadly, irrational, and determined, the intruder snuck across a weakened perimeter. Eluding capture, the intruder was detained only after missteps and close calls. The spin began soon after the threat was isolated. Information was selectively leaked. Half-truths and untruths were uttered. Responsibility was avoided; privileges and credentials asserted; authority reasserted. Trust us. Remain calm. Don’t panic. This is the template of recent events. A mental case jumps the White House fence. He makes it to the East Room before he’s tackled by an off-duty Secret Service agent. Initial statements turn out to be misleading or false. It’s the “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” A New York appeals court next week will consider whether chimps should have the same rights as human beings. The extraordinary proceeding is the result of a lengthy battle by animal-rights activists who argue that animals with human qualities — including chimps — are entitled to human protections, including freedom from captivity. Steven Wise, part of the Nonhuman Rights Project, which is leading the effort, will have to convince a panel of Albany appellate judges that a chimp name Tommy is a “legal person” to get him moved from a cage

President Obama was at Northwestern University on Thursday to deliver an economic speech that, he and his team hoped, would lay out the case for why the public is better off today than they were six years ago -- even if they didn´t feel it in their everday lives. Instead, Obama just gave every Republican ad-maker in the country more fodder for negative ads linking Democratic candidates to him. Here are the four sentences that will draw all of the attention (they come more than two thirds of the way through the speech): "I am not on the ballot this

It is the stuff that nightmares are made of, and day by day it is getting worse. The Ebola epidemic, says Dr Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organisation (WHO), is now “the greatest peacetime challenge” since the Second World War. Yet her own organisation’s tardiness, partly caused by cuts, together with reductions in--and misuse of--funds elsewhere, are largely responsible for Ebola spiralling out of control. [Snip] It’s just the beginning. At present the numbers of people infected are thought to be doubling in under 30 days--and the blue-chip US Center for Disease Control and Prevention predicts that, if Ebola

What on earth is an ohbee-guynee? Apparently it is a weird Obamaspeak pronunciation of OB/GYN (pronounced oh-bee-gee-why-en). For the president’s benefit, let me specify that means a doctor who delivers babies and takes care of the lady parts. When President Obama announced the departure of Eric Holder from his position as attorney general, he also mentioned his “good friend,” the AG’s wife, Dr. Sharon Malone, and he called her an “ohbee-guynee.” (snip) it almost seems as though someone raised in a fantasized USSR training camp for deep cover agents was inserted into the identity of Barack Obama and loosed upon

WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? ATLANTA — Texas, America’s second-most populous state behind California, saw 13 of its last abortion clinics turn away women on Friday, after a federal appeals court upheld a law that practically guarantees that only a handful of clinics will remain open in the state. The strictest-of-its-kind Texas law requires abortion providers to build hospital-grade facilities and obtain sometimes impossible-to-get hospital admitting privileges. After signed into law last year by Gov. Rick Perry (R), the law forced most of the 41 clinics operating to close. Thursday’s ruling wiped out a brief victory this summer for abortion rights proponents,

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Tuesday signed into law a ban on single-use plastic bags, making California the first state to prohibit stores from using the ubiquitous carry-alls. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use. “This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press release announcing his approval. “It
