FERGUSON • Tension stayed high and raw Monday as the St. Louis region waited for answers in the fatal shooting of an unarmed teenager by a municipal police officer. In another day of fast-moving events, the FBI promised to investigate the killing of Michael Brown, 18, on Saturday by a Ferguson police officer. Brown’s parents called for an end to the violence while strongly disputing the police version of their son’s death. More than 1,000 people observed a moment of silence at a meeting called by the NAACP. Throughout the day, protesters continued to face off with police, and as

Isn´t it interesting that the only time there is any MSM coverage of a ´Good Boy´ being killed is when they´ve been killed by a policeman? Could it be because no one can race bait the black on black crimes?

Slowly it will leak out that this ´Good Boy´ had a rap sheet, and was probably high when he took a swing at the cop. Still waiting for the dashboard cam!

I heard there was no dashboard camera, but even if there had been it wouldn´t have shown the altercation and shooting. That all took place behind the front of the police car so a camera wouldn´t have caught anything.

St. Louis police have released video of the looting of the Shoe Carnival store in a shopping center on Gravois Avenue in St. Louis shortly before midnight Monday. The 52-second video shows numerous people grabbing merchandise from inside the store at 3503 Bamberger Avenue. The group entered after someone smashed out a business window. Police said they do not believe the looting was the direct result of the unrest in Ferguson but said "we do recognize that criminals are using the opportunity to commit crime in the city." St. Louis police also are investigating a break-in at a Phillips 66

Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, praised a group of National Guard troops as the "tip of the spear" in the fight against cartels and gangs as they prepare to deploy to the U.S. border with Mexico. Moreover, Perry said that U.S. officials should "stop calling these criminals nice names like cartels and gangs" and start calling them "what they really are: these are narcoterrorists."Perry announced last month that he was activating up to 1,000 National Guard troops to send to the border to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in fighting drug cartels. Remember all those books that the publishing houses rejected during the eight years before Dear Leader took office because they might get used by "the Left" to hurt George W. Bush? No you don´t, because it didn´t happen. But now, things are different. Fellow soldiers of released 5-year Taliban captive Bowe Bergdahl are trying to publish a book on their side of the "he was a deserter" controversy. A divison of publishing giant Simon & Schuster has rejected their submission. That isn´t necessarily unusual, but the contents of a rejection letter from one of the publisher´s representatives certainly is. At

(Snip) Asked Wednesday by ABC’s Jon Karl if Obama would return the donations or denounce Democrats who accept them, White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz said no.

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to assume that their president, hostile to the principles that formed the nation and determined to act with malice toward its inhabitants by suppressing their rights and enabling its enemies to prosper in their attempts to destroy it, must be confronted, a rational response for the nation is to encumber itself no more with such a president and reject his authority and the acolytes who carry out his wishes. Americans’ optimism is dying

It is the very essence of the American Dream: an irrepressible confidence that our children will live better than we do. And now it is gone. It has been slipping for some time, really, but a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll this month put an exclamation point on Americans’ lost optimism. When asked if “life for our children’s generation will be better than it has been for us,” fully 76 percent said they do not have such confidence. Only 21 percent did. That was the worst ever recorded in the poll; in 2001, 49 percent were confident and 43 percent

The U.S. president was greeted with crowds as he arrived at The Sweet Life Cafe in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, while waitresses lined up at the windows of a nearby Thai restaurant to take pictures of the couple as they left. But her legacy as one of the great actresses has long been secured, both for the work she did with Humphrey Bogart – who she met, and soon married, via their first collaboration, “To Have and Have Not” – and what came after, not just in movies but on stage

It’s official: Obamaism is dead. Hillary Clinton killed it. It wasn’t so much a mercy killing as an expedient one, but that’s politics in the best sense. The important thing is that she broke the Democratic omertà code by stating the obvious: The president’s policy of having America sit on the sidelines of a burning world is a disaster that threatens our national security. The power of her argument is confirmed by a report that a testy Obama called it “horses–t” to congressional leaders. The president who spent years touting the withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq suddenly has had to distance himself from that action. At the White House on Saturday morning — less than 48 hours after authorizing airstrikes against Islamist militants and humanitarian air drops to save the lives of trapped Iraqi civilians — President Obama blamed his predecessor, George W. Bush, for the absence of American troops in Iraq and rejected the assertion that he could have left a small peacekeeping force in the war-torn nation. He uttered those after three years, and a successful re-election campaign, in which

President Obama must really be teed off. Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid. Obama responded with not one but two rounds of golf. Clinton, in an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg published by the Atlantic over the weekend, offered a withering comment on the Obama doctrine, described in shorthand by White House officials as “don’t do stupid [expletive].” Said Clinton: “Great nations need organizing principles, and ‘Don’t do stupid stuff’ is not an organizing principle.” As the criticism became public, Obama was doggedly sticking with

President Obama got angry at lawmakers who suggested in a private meeting that he should have armed the Syrian rebels, calling the criticism “horseshit.” The argument that America should have done more in Syria, made for years by foreign policy leaders in both parties and several members of Obama’s senior national security team, was brought back to the fore this past weekend.
