Police, Protesters Again

FERGUSON, Mo. -- Police in riot gear fired tear gas into a crowd of protesters in a St. Louis suburb where an unarmed black teenager had been fatally shot by police over the weekend, as tension rose even amid calls for collective calm. Between two nights of unrest, a community forum hosted by the local NAACP chapter Monday night drew hundreds to a sweltering church in Ferguson, the St. Louis County suburb of 21,000 that´s nearly 70 percent black and the place where 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot multiple times after being confronted by an officer. Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson said

There can be no race riots in Obama´s America because: Obama! Dear Leader Barack Hussein has healed us all and united us all, so any claim of race riots is nothing but Tea Party propaganda.

If the witness on the porch is anywhere close to accurate, it´s not looking good for the cop. We can´t rely on either side telling the truth in this one.

Whatever happened, the looting and violence are inexcusable.

Bonfire of the Vanities redux?

Honor student? College bound? Any excuse to steal whatever isn´t bolted down and destroy private property?

Where is the reporting of the facts? What happened in that police car? Why was Michael Brown stopped? Does he have a record? What was he doing?

It is highly unlikely this cop gunned down an innocent young man who was just out buying Skittles for his little brother.

It is time for the authorities to speak up and for the media to stop fanning the flames and responsibly report the facts!

What the media had been parroting is that Mr. Brown was "unarmed" which of course implies no wrongdoing on his part whatsoever, so help me G-d, which MAY be the case. And if it that actually was the case, its not like the official police report is going to come out and say that. The media has no interest in not fanning the flames because its news.

One outlet interviewed a local professor of criminology from UMSL who was attempting to explain the process of the investigation and that there were natural timelines involved that required patience. Meanwhile at a local shopping strip or mall nearby....

While some in law enforcement are their own worst enemies, the predominant attitude of lack of respect and failure to cooperate with law enforcement within certain communities has its own unintended consequences which we see playing out here.

With a smile on his face, George Zimmerman spent Saturday afternoon posing for photos, sharing hugs and shaking hands with gun enthusiasts at a firearms expo in Lake Mary. "It´s so odd to me," said Zimmerman, about the celebrity treatment he receives in public. "[But] it is appreciated." In his first interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Zimmerman described life after his acquittal last year in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The former Neighborhood Watch volunteer shot the unarmed black teen in Sanford on Feb. 26, 2012. Now life for the 30-year-old is completely different. He´s always moving. He´s

Assuming this report can ever be proven true, Vladimir Putin has continued to engage in an even larger than normal dose of saber rattling. Or is it something more? Speaking with the President of Ukraine, Putin allegedly told him that the Bear’s reach is mighty long indeed. President Vladimir Putin privately threatened to invade Poland, Romania and the Baltic states, according to a record of a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart. “If I wanted, in two days I could have Russian troops not only in Kiev, but also in Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Warsaw and Bucharest,” Mr Putin allegedly told President

Giving lie to Vladimir Putin’s claims that Russia isn’t fighting in Ukraine, up to 80 Russian troops were killed in a skirmish there last month, according to information released by an opposition politician. Members of an elite Russian paratroop force talked about the brutal battle near Luhansk, a city in eastern Ukraine, in telephone transcripts leaked to politician and newspaper publisher Lev Shlosberg. “We’re f——g walking along looking for these f—–g Ukrainians,” one paratrooper says in an account reported by the Sunday Times of London. “We get out into the open and are seen, kapow!” the paratrooper says. “We dashed out onto the road,

The whole point of setting the border between Mexico and the United States at the deepest channel of the Rio Grande was that the river was not supposed to move. That was the thinking in 1848, when, following Mexico’s defeat by the United States and surrender of its vast northern lands, boundary surveyors from the two countries were tasked with reinventing the border. The choice of the river for the boundary’s eastern half had been obvious: its use as a territorial marker stretched back into the region’s Spanish colonial past, and it was hard to miss and often difficult to

All three senators are considered prospective 2016 candidates. “They call us the three Amigos,” Cruz joked during an interview at the Texas Tribune Festival on Saturday. ‘He is at once God and their intimate friend,” wrote journalist Martha Gellhorn back in the 1930s of President Franklin Roosevelt. The quote comes from The Roosevelts, the new Ken Burns documentary that PBS airs this month. But the term “documentary” doesn’t do The Roosevelts justice. “Extravaganza” is more like it: In not one but 14 lavish hours, the series covers two great presidents, Theodore Roosevelt, who served in the first decade of the last century, and Franklin Roosevelt, who led our nation through the Great Depression and to victory in World War II. The last few weeks of public polling have offered contradictory and surprising results, like surveys showing the Democratic Senate candidate in Colorado either up by six percentage points or down by eight. Nonetheless, the polls have clarified the fight for the Senate. States like North Carolina and Michigan have moved toward the Democrats, while Arkansas and Louisiana have drifted toward the Republican column. The result is that the list of battleground states has shrunk, with perhaps only Alaska, Iowa and Kansas remaining as true tossups. Yet even though the overall picture is sharper, it now centers on the two most mysterious

Turkey is celebrating the return of 49 of their citizens held for 101 days by Islamic State. The hostages were captured when the Iraqi city of Mosul fell to the terrorists. Turkey’s state run news agency Anadolu reported that “no ransom had been paid and “no conditions were accepted in return for their release.” But many observers weren’t buying that explanation. The official explanation “sounds a bit too good to be true,” said Sinan Ulgen, a former Turkish diplomat who chairs the Istanbul-based Centre for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies. “There are some very legitimate and unanswered questions about how this happened.” The hostages

Just because Congress came together (miraculously and quickly before, ahem, their midterm elections) in passage of a continuing resolution which also authorizes the training and arming of Syrian troops, doesn’t mean that the American people - or the military for that matter – are fully buying into the president’s plan. All the hustle and bustle on Capitol Hill this week laid bare the confusion and political calculation behind the White House’s recent push to go after the ISIS (ISIL) terrorist group, which increases its threats against the U.S. and its allies every

President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

Three and a half months have come and gone and the Pentagon has offered no clarity on what happened to alleged Army deserter and Taliban collaborator Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Fellow soldiers and other critics fear the military’s now-delayed investigation is shaping up to be a whitewash. The case has become a political powder keg for President Obama. Since he traded five imprisoned Taliban leaders for Bergdahl, the US Government Accountability Office has declared the swap illegal, and nearly two dozen House Democrats have joined Republicans in officially condemning the move for making “Americans less safe.”
