Obama vacations as the world burns
Washington Post, by Dana Milbank

President Obama must really be teed off. Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid. Obama responded with not one but two rounds of golf. Clinton, in an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg published by the Atlantic over the weekend, offered a withering comment on the Obama doctrine, described in shorthand by White House officials as “don’t do stupid [expletive].” Said Clinton: “Great nations need organizing principles, and ‘Don’t do stupid stuff’ is not an organizing principle.” As the criticism became public, Obama was doggedly sticking with

Dana Milbank isn´t worried that The Great Golfer is an inept president. Dana Milbank is worried that The Great Golfer is getting caught looking like an inept president. To the loathsome MSM, keeping up the pretence is everything. If The Great Golfer gets too close to exposing himself, the loathsome MSM are also exposed, and the Milbanks of the world can´t afford that. Back to your desk, Great Golfer!

He said he could not watch, well, his buddy Love said it, and that they played cards during all of it. I don´t know that any of his choices of where to be suit me except to resign and go play golf.

Milbank and his ilk are idiots! You can go to the tape time after time after time and listen and watch Obama´s spectacular rhetoric on what he would do as President, and do the same re: what he is doing now elected, and absolutely NOTHING lines up! Drudge has a wonderful spot right now of Obama in 2008 saying he would never take a vacation, as the post is just too important. But Obama has the last laugh as, as he also said, HE is President (and can do as he d---- pleases.) And Milbank and his "ilk" are running out of excuses for the man. (Who will "retire" wealthy and give speeches to adoring sycophants for the rest opt his days, a la Bill Clinton---who almost looks honest by contrast.)

#14, that wasn´t Benghazi, that was the Bin Laden raid. To this day no one knows where Smidgen was during Benghazi. I think the Reggie card playing story was put out there to make everyone believe that Smidgen was near the situation room, just not in it. But that he was in charge. The first reports said that he was on the golf course and had to be dragged to the WH to watch after others had made the decision to proceed with the raid.

No limitation on vacations, golf outings or any other entertainment for this entitlement president. He is there for all the perks he desires. It does not even occur to him that he should deny himself anything because it may be perceived as irresponsible and self-indulgent. Responsibility is for the little people. Remember, he is the one we have been waiting for. Obama is a Caligula-esque. He is without conscience and answers to no one and will do whatever he wants to do. People like that cannot be shamed into right behavior. Criticizing him will never cause him to change. It is, however, a much needed cathartic exercise for us.

Hillery would have had us attacking the Assad regime and directly confronting Russia. That would not have stopped ISIL. Unfortunately, the best course of action would have been to coordinate actions with Assad and take out ISIL. The bad guys are running the show in the middle east. The pro-Democracy Syrians should have sued for peace, and try to get a few concessions. In the end that´s what ISIL did, and they immediately went into Iraq.

Unfortunately, the United States is led by Nero Obama who parties and is living large. Don´t expect anything from him.

Obama administration attempts

The Obama administration sought Friday to tamp down fears of an Ebola outbreak within the U.S., making the case that America’s infrastructure and health care systems set it apart from the horrific scenes coming out of West Africa, even as a confirmed case in Dallas and recent scares in the nation’s capital prompt fears of a domestic problem. “The United States is prepared to deal with the crisis,” Lisa Monaco, homeland security adviser to President Obama, told reporters at a White House briefing on the response to the deadly virus. At the same time, officials said they understood the alarm

The U.S. economy is back on solid ground six years after the Great Recession, new data showed Friday, but President Obama and other Democrats are struggling to convince voters ahead of the midterm elections that they deserve the credit for the rebound. The government reported that the unemployment rate dropped to 5.9 percent in September, the lowest level since the dark days of the 2008 financial crisis. Job growth surged to 248,000 in what was the final snapshot of the nation’s labor market before voters head to the polls in November. Obama on Friday seized on the numbers, pleading with

A Washington-area hospital announced Friday that it had admitted a patient with symptoms and a travel history associated with Ebola. The case has not been confirmed, but the number of similar incidents around the country and a confirmed Ebola patient in Dallas have spurred concerns about whether U.S. hospitals are as prepared to deal with the virus as federal officials insist they are. Since July, hospitals around the country have reported more than 100 cases involving Ebola-like symptoms to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, officials there said. MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker is casting himself as a turnaround artist, seeking re-election with a pitch to voters that he revamped the state’s spending and business climate in just four years. For a governor with presidential aspirations, it’s a case he’s likely preparing for a national audience as well — but first he’ll have to get through a tighter-than-expected re-election race against Democrat Mary Burke, a former state secretary of commerce. As if that wasn’t enough, analysts say that his race could also say a lot about the political strength of labor unions, given that they’ve made defeating

You can win midterm elections without a positive agenda. You can’t win presidential elections that way. It is therefore vitally important for Republicans to win the Senate in 2014. Here’s why. In midterms, it’s all right to be the party of no. The 2010 election, for example, was a referendum on the liberal overreach of the first two Obama years. Result? A Democratic “shellacking,” said President Obama. The massive stimulus, (the failed) cap-and-trade and Obamacare created a major backlash that cost Obama the House and, with it, the rest of his ideological agenda. It’s been blocked ever since. The confirmation Tuesday of the first Ebola case on U.S. soil emerges against a backdrop of increasing concern in America’s medical community that preparedness for a pandemic has stagnated or slipped in recent years because of tough economic times and increasing malaise since the 2001 anthrax threat. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, America’s premier disease fighter, offered the air of confidence in declaring that the first Ebola patient in Dallas was carefully contained. But earlier this year, it sounded less optimistic about the U.S. health system’s ability to fight a pandemic should a major disease outbreak occur.

The spin began soon after the threat was isolated. Information was selectively leaked. Half-truths and untruths were uttered. Responsibility was avoided; privileges and credentials asserted; authority reasserted. Trust us. Remain calm. Don’t panic. This is the template of recent events. A mental case jumps the White House fence. He makes it to the East Room before he’s tackled by an off-duty Secret Service agent. Initial statements turn out to be misleading or false. We discover that lapses in

What on earth is an ohbee-guynee? Apparently it is a weird Obamaspeak pronunciation of OB/GYN (pronounced oh-bee-gee-why-en). For the president’s benefit, let me specify that means a doctor who delivers babies and takes care of the lady parts. When President Obama announced the departure of Eric Holder from his position as attorney general, he also mentioned his “good friend,” the AG’s wife, Dr. Sharon Malone, and he called her an “ohbee-guynee.” (snip) it almost seems as though someone raised in a fantasized USSR training camp for deep cover agents was inserted into the identity of Barack Obama and loosed upon

It’s the “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” A New York appeals court next week will consider whether chimps should have the same rights as human beings. The extraordinary proceeding is the result of a lengthy battle by animal-rights activists who argue that animals with human qualities — including chimps — are entitled to human protections, including freedom from captivity. Steven Wise, part of the Nonhuman Rights Project, which is leading the effort, will have to convince a panel of Albany appellate judges that a chimp name Tommy is a “legal person” to get him moved from a cage

It is the stuff that nightmares are made of, and day by day it is getting worse. The Ebola epidemic, says Dr Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organisation (WHO), is now “the greatest peacetime challenge” since the Second World War. Yet her own organisation’s tardiness, partly caused by cuts, together with reductions in--and misuse of--funds elsewhere, are largely responsible for Ebola spiralling out of control. [Snip] It’s just the beginning. At present the numbers of people infected are thought to be doubling in under 30 days--and the blue-chip US Center for Disease Control and Prevention predicts that, if Ebola

President Obama was at Northwestern University on Thursday to deliver an economic speech that, he and his team hoped, would lay out the case for why the public is better off today than they were six years ago -- even if they didn´t feel it in their everday lives. Instead, Obama just gave every Republican ad-maker in the country more fodder for negative ads linking Democratic candidates to him. Here are the four sentences that will draw all of the attention (they come more than two thirds of the way through the speech): "I am not on the ballot this

I’m always sceptical when I hear scare-mongering claims about diseases. From bird flu to SARS, we’re repeatedly told it’s going to be the new Plague that will wipe everyone out and then…it doesn’t. Probably because the scare-mongering itself makes people take it seriously enough to prevent it spreading. But there is something very sinister and frightening about this Ebola outbreak, which has so far infected 7,100 and killed 3,300. [Snip] It’s hard to think of a more cack-handed, dangerously inept response than what transpired in Dallas. Consider what we now know: Thomas Eric Duncan, a 42-year-old Liberian citizen, had been

In a speech in Boston, First Lady Michelle Obama left behind talk of exercise and school lunches, exchanging it all for bald politics by claiming that under her husband the US economy is now better off "by almost every economic measure." The First Lady appeared at the Strand Theater Friday to stump for Martha Coakley´s campaign for Governor of Massachusetts. Coakley needs help badly, as even in blue, blue Massachusetts, the race between Democrat Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker is essentially a toss up. In her remarks, Obama pushed the President´s newest campaign line that he has saved the economy based on

First lady Michelle Obama believes that Democrats running for Congress eagerly desire her presence on the campaign trail during the run-up to the 2014 midterm elections. However, she has avoided helping some Senate Democrats because she’s mad at them for failing to show adequate support for her deeply unpopular attempt to change people’s diets. The Daily Caller is not making this up. The New York Times has reported it. (Snip) Michelle Obama was also especially furious after nearly a dozen Democrats from states where potatoes are a commercial crop joined Republican lawmakers in opposing a decision by the Obama

Meghan McCain joined the dog pile on the Secret Service this week, saying she’s had “nothing but horrible experiences" with the agency and likening the agents to “glorified mall cops.” The 29-year-old author and television personality, who is also the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), opened up on Pivot’s “TakePart Live” about some of her interactions with the Secret Service. "I have nothing but horrible experiences with the Secret Service,” McCain said. “One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don´t think that´s terribly far off. I found them cliquey.
