Obama vacations as the world burns
Washington Post, by Dana Milbank

President Obama must really be teed off. Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid. Obama responded with not one but two rounds of golf. Clinton, in an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg published by the Atlantic over the weekend, offered a withering comment on the Obama doctrine, described in shorthand by White House officials as “don’t do stupid [expletive].” Said Clinton: “Great nations need organizing principles, and ‘Don’t do stupid stuff’ is not an organizing principle.” As the criticism became public, Obama was doggedly sticking with

Dana Milbank isn´t worried that The Great Golfer is an inept president. Dana Milbank is worried that The Great Golfer is getting caught looking like an inept president. To the loathsome MSM, keeping up the pretence is everything. If The Great Golfer gets too close to exposing himself, the loathsome MSM are also exposed, and the Milbanks of the world can´t afford that. Back to your desk, Great Golfer!

He said he could not watch, well, his buddy Love said it, and that they played cards during all of it. I don´t know that any of his choices of where to be suit me except to resign and go play golf.

Milbank and his ilk are idiots! You can go to the tape time after time after time and listen and watch Obama´s spectacular rhetoric on what he would do as President, and do the same re: what he is doing now elected, and absolutely NOTHING lines up! Drudge has a wonderful spot right now of Obama in 2008 saying he would never take a vacation, as the post is just too important. But Obama has the last laugh as, as he also said, HE is President (and can do as he d---- pleases.) And Milbank and his "ilk" are running out of excuses for the man. (Who will "retire" wealthy and give speeches to adoring sycophants for the rest opt his days, a la Bill Clinton---who almost looks honest by contrast.)

#14, that wasn´t Benghazi, that was the Bin Laden raid. To this day no one knows where Smidgen was during Benghazi. I think the Reggie card playing story was put out there to make everyone believe that Smidgen was near the situation room, just not in it. But that he was in charge. The first reports said that he was on the golf course and had to be dragged to the WH to watch after others had made the decision to proceed with the raid.

No limitation on vacations, golf outings or any other entertainment for this entitlement president. He is there for all the perks he desires. It does not even occur to him that he should deny himself anything because it may be perceived as irresponsible and self-indulgent. Responsibility is for the little people. Remember, he is the one we have been waiting for. Obama is a Caligula-esque. He is without conscience and answers to no one and will do whatever he wants to do. People like that cannot be shamed into right behavior. Criticizing him will never cause him to change. It is, however, a much needed cathartic exercise for us.

Hillery would have had us attacking the Assad regime and directly confronting Russia. That would not have stopped ISIL. Unfortunately, the best course of action would have been to coordinate actions with Assad and take out ISIL. The bad guys are running the show in the middle east. The pro-Democracy Syrians should have sued for peace, and try to get a few concessions. In the end that´s what ISIL did, and they immediately went into Iraq.

Unfortunately, the United States is led by Nero Obama who parties and is living large. Don´t expect anything from him.

AUSTIN - Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis, fresh off her first debate gubernatorial debate, expressed confidence Saturday that she will win the race on Nov. 4. "I can tell you with great optimism that I´m not going to lose this election," she told a mostly friendly crowd at the Texas Tribune Festival, a political symposium underway at the University of Texas campus. During an hour-long question-and-answer session, Davis also answered a question from Attorney General Greg Abbott which she had declined to answer during Friday´s debate in Edinburg: Did she regret voting for Barack Obama? AUSTIN — Twenty years ago this November, Texas elected George P. Bush’s uncle as governor. That election cemented Republicans in power in the Lone Star State after a steady period of ascendance. Democrats haven’t won a statewide elective office since and their candidates for governor (state Sen. Wendy Davis) and lieutenant governor (state Sen. Leticia Van de Putte) are currently seen here in Texas as underdogs this fall. In the two decades since George W. Bush became governor, the Republican Party here has turned several shades redder. WASHINGTON — A man jumped over the fence of the White House on Friday and made it through the front door before officers managed to apprehend him, just minutes after President Barack Obama had departed, the Secret Service said. The intruder sprinted toward the White House after leaping over the fence and ignored commands from officers to stop, Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said. He was ultimately apprehended just inside the North Portico doors, the grand, columned entrance that looks out over Pennsylvania Ave. Donovan said the man appeared to be unarmed to officers who spotted him jumping the fence,

It should come as no surprise when movies dovetail with the wider social conversation. But this week, the collision is occurring with particularly crystallizing force. To wit: The arrival of a Liam Neeson movie isn’t exactly news, although his new one, “A Walk Among the Tombstones,” is notable on several counts. For one thing, it marks the return of Neeson to the kind of substantive, mature roles his fans have craved while he’s been making science-fiction fantasies and franchise installments. As New York detective Matt Scudder, Neeson settles easily into a role that calls for equal parts muscular brawn and

What was the Islamic State thinking? We know it is sophisticated in its use of modern media. But what was the logic of propagating to the world videos of its beheadings of two Americans (and subsequently a Briton) — sure to inflame public opinion? There are two possible explanations. One is that these terrorists are more depraved and less savvy than we think. They so glory in blood that they could not resist making an international spectacle of their savagery — after all, they proudly broadcast their massacre of Shiite prisoners — and did not quite fathom how such a

The United States has made the same mistake in evaluating fighters from the Islamic State that it did in Vietnam — underestimating the enemy’s will, according to James Clapper, the director of national intelligence. Clapper’s comments came in a telephone interview Wednesday, in which he summarized the elements of a new National Intelligence Strategy released this week. Clapper also answered some broader questions about intelligence issues confronting the country. Asked whether the intelligence community had succeeded in its goal of providing “anticipatory intelligence” about the extremist movement in Syria and Iraq that has declared itself the Islamic State, Clapper said

Flashes of disagreement over how to fight the Islamic State are mounting between President Obama and U.S. military leaders, the latest sign of strain in what often has been an awkward and uneasy relationship. Even as the administration has received congressional backing for its strategy, with the Senate voting Thursday to approve a plan to arm and train Syrian rebels, a series of military leaders have criticized the president’s approach against the Islamic State militant group. Retired Marine Gen. James Mattis, who served under Obama until last year, became the latest high-profile skeptic on Thursday, telling the House Intelligence Committee

Weeks before the State Department assured Americans that things were operating “normally” at its consulate in the Kurdish capital of Erbil in August, concerned procurement officials were quietly saying the advance of militants of the Islamic State, also known as ISIL or ISIS, meant the government needed to shell out tens of millions of dollars to counter a “rapidly deteriorating” security situation. Sarah Palin has come out in defense of her daughter Bristol who allegedly punched a man in the face during a family brawl. The former Vice President candidate hailed her child as a ´straight shooter´ in a Facebook which appears to be her first veiled reference to the fight two weekends ago. The 23-year-old is said to have repeatedly hit the owner of a home in Anchorage, Alaska, during an outburst in which her brother Track broke four ribs and her father Todd was left with a bloody nose. (Tweet) It came after Willow Palin´s ex-boyfriend allegedly engage in some

Shawn Donovan, director of the Office of Management and Budget, said on Friday that if you don’t believe in climate change and support federal spending to fight it, you believe the earth is flat. “The failure to invest in climate solutions and climate preparedness doesn’t get you membership in a fiscal conservatives caucus,” Donovan said at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C. “It makes you a member of the Flat Earth Society.” Donovan, who formerly ran the Department of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama, is now in charge of the arm of the executive branch

CBS is putting its Hillary-inspired drama "Madam Secretary" on Sunday nights next to "The Good Wife." In Friday´s New York Times, TV critic Alessandra Stanley discussed the two shows and slammed Hillary. "Hillary Rodham Clinton is the obvious inspiration, but this is Hillary with a human face," she wrote. During the Cold War, reporters would suggest a kinder, gentler Marxist regime was "communism with a human face." Stanley continued: "Téa Leoni, who has a husky voice and a loose, engaging manner, is an unusually likable beauty. As Elizabeth McCord, she has all the brains and determination of the original and none

Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

Three and a half months have come and gone and the Pentagon has offered no clarity on what happened to alleged Army deserter and Taliban collaborator Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Fellow soldiers and other critics fear the military’s now-delayed investigation is shaping up to be a whitewash. The case has become a political powder keg for President Obama. Since he traded five imprisoned Taliban leaders for Bergdahl, the US Government Accountability Office has declared the swap illegal, and nearly two dozen House Democrats have joined Republicans in officially condemning the move for making “Americans less safe.”

The French did for President Obama on Friday what they refused to do for his predecessor — they joined the fight in Iraq. Two Rafale fighter planes armed with laser-guided bombs “entirely destroyed” an Islamic State munitions depot and killed dozens of ISIS fighters, making France the first coalition country to make good on its promise to battle the murderous militants. “Other operations will follow in the coming days with the same goal — to weaken this terrorist organization and come to the aid of the Iraqi authorities,” French President Francois Hollande vowed. The French famously said “non” in 2003 when President Bush

The man who jumped the White House railing Sept. 19 deserves the right to live in President Barack Obama’s home, just as the president is allowing hundreds of thousands of border-jumping Central Americans to live in Americans’ homeland, says a new tongue-in-cheek petition posted at the White House website. “We urge President Obama to immediately and publicly recognize that Mr. Omar J. Gonzalez, an oppressed migrant, was merely looking for a better life when he entered the White House after going over the classist, divisive and needless fence,” says the petition, which was authored by D.A. King, founder of the Georgia-based

SALEM, N.H. — Voters have soured on President Obama. National and statewide trends favor Republicans. And here in his new home state, Scott Brown’s truck is gaining speed. Analysts and recent polls have found Brown closing in on US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Democratic incumbent he is vying to unseat, in a race that has become increasingly nasty and expensive. Once largely dismissed by critics as an unlikely second act in a state he moved to only last year, Brown’s Senate bid is increasingly seen as a plausible path back to the US Capitol. Observers see a race that may be largely determined

I know a lot of people are giddy at the prospect of Republicans taking the Senate this November, but that’s becoming less and less likely. It’s not because Democrats are rallying around a particular mission or set of candidates; it’s because Republicans and conservatives aren’t. It seems like I’m always writing on issues no one wants to hear are mistakes, such as messaging or social issues. But I don’t care. These things have to be said. If these columns are received like a gaseous cousin on a long car trip through the desert, so be it. Crack a window… If things continue on their current course, the GOP will not retake the Senate.
