The Department of Education released a fact sheet Monday about the availability of public school education for undocumented immigrant children — specifically the tens of thousands unaccompanied minors who have recently entered the U.S. illegally. “We have begun to receive inquiries regarding educational services for a specific group of immigrant children who have been in the news – children from Central America who have recently crossed the U.S. - Mexico border,” the Department of Education explains. “This new fact sheet provides information to help education leaders better understand the responsibilities of States and local educational agencies (LEAs) in connection with

Can´t find that in the Constitution. Then again, can´t find the Dept of Ed in the Constitution either so it looks like both party´s are illegal.

And who paid the school district taxes that support public education.....not theirs.

They need to be sent back to their own country and complete the steps to immigrate to the USA.

That is the fact. Its really time to start reeling in these Federal Agencies. Dept. of Education is as worthless and the EPA.

Which means that these illegals are also entitled to free school meals, free bus service, free books, free school counseling, free medical services, free computers, free Cinco de Mayo tee shirts, and everything else that public schools provide to tax paying families. Got to question the sanity of a country to have a government and its court system looking out for people who have broken our laws and ignored our status as a sovereign country.

It is terrible how we are reaping the harvest from all the poor and short-sighted decisions made by former legislators and Presidents. The formation of the DOE --huge mistake. The GOP refusing to fight the fight necessary to abolish this employment agency for liberal educators -- just as big a mistake. Conservatives warned decades ago that the Department of Education was moving us quickly toward Washington-centered decision-making for all local public schools. Did the GOP listen? Nah. It would have been so much easier to downsize it at least long ago. Yes, the table was set for a Barack Obama quite a long time ago. Now - this stunning article lays out where we are in 2014. The media as well as D.C. just yawn at the Constitution. The taxpayers are told we owe the world´s children a free education.

early American history is no longer even required but American taxpayers are still funding this regulated/regimented BIG Gov´t. overreach. Public education flourished when decisions were made at the local and State level.

Department of Education has nothing to do this at all. Sure if given ammesty, illegals would no longer be illegals so they would be able to attend public schools. As for entitled to an education, even tax payers are not entitled to that, has to be earned. As far as the DOE is concerned illegals are being permitted to illegally cross the boardor everyday to attend schools illegally so this is not anything new for them.

All these "rights" for illegal alien children came about as the result of a US Supreme Court case of a couple of decades ago, which essentially said that until those children are removed out of the USA they have the "right" to a free public education. It does not matter if the individual school district across the country have to raise up taxes to build new schools, and to hire teachers who can effectively communicate with the illegal alien children. Right now the only way those illegal alien children can be kept out of the public schools is to deport them and that is about the last thing that Obama and his very liberal administrative immigration courts are going to do. The only way the states can get any relief is to send another case up to the US Supreme Court and hope they get a new more favorable decision. If not as it stands now 50 million illegal alien children could come here, and all the school district where they land could do is raise up more taxes to build enough schools and hire enough of the right kind of teachers. Don´t think that the Obama Administration did not know all that when they and their political allies, the very liberal Mexico and Central American centric ethnic and immigrant advocacy groups who contrived this latest mass influx of young illegal aliens with assistance Mexico and the Banana Republic governments who want to see the effectiveness of the US borderline greatly diminished so that they can dump their criminal and surplus population groups into the USA.

Ok lets try that one on for size. Open border and we owe the children an education.

There are about 1 billion children living in poverty on the planet. http://www.globalissues.org/article/26/poverty-facts-and-stats

Since we haven´t defined limits as to who comes in and who gets the entitlement I´m free to argue that the assertion is we owe 1 billion children a "free" education.

The annual cost of a public education is about $10,000. http://www.governing.com/gov-data/education-data/state-education-spending-per-pupil-data.html

That´s 10 Trillion we owe annually or about $30,000 for every man woman and child in the US. Or if you prefer that´s about $90,000 for every "working age" American.

Can we rid ourselves of this entitlement presumption and begin a serious conversation?

How is invasion of dependent "children" (a majority of whom are boys over 15 years old with gang tattoos) any less of a financial/social drain on this country than an invading army that blows up infrastructure??

Criminal alien invaders are entitled to "3 hots and a cot" in a detention center only so long as it takes to get their deportation hearing scheduled. They´re entitled to emergency medical care/first aid only as far as necessary to get them to the deportation hearing. They are entitled to giving up biometric identifying data so they can be identified if/when they attempt another illegal crossing into is country.

They are not entitled to any welfare, education, medical care, or any other program including a "free" attorney, at taxpayer expense.

With one month until Election Day, Republicans´ chances for retaking the Senate and picking up seats in the House are improving. Probably because the scare-mongering itself makes people take it seriously enough to prevent it spreading. But there is something very sinister and frightening about this Ebola outbreak, which has so far infected 7,100 and killed 3,300. [Snip] It’s hard to think of a more cack-handed, dangerously inept response than what transpired in Dallas. Consider what we now know: Thomas Eric Duncan, a 42-year-old Liberian citizen, had been

In a speech in Boston, First Lady Michelle Obama left behind talk of exercise and school lunches, exchanging it all for bald politics by claiming that under her husband the US economy is now better off "by almost every economic measure." The First Lady appeared at the Strand Theater Friday to stump for Martha Coakley´s campaign for Governor of Massachusetts. Coakley needs help badly, as even in blue, blue Massachusetts, the race between Democrat Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker is essentially a toss up. In her remarks, Obama pushed the President´s newest campaign line that he has saved the economy based on

Meghan McCain joined the dog pile on the Secret Service this week, saying she’s had “nothing but horrible experiences" with the agency and likening the agents to “glorified mall cops.” The 29-year-old author and television personality, who is also the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), opened up on Pivot’s “TakePart Live” about some of her interactions with the Secret Service. "I have nothing but horrible experiences with the Secret Service,” McCain said. “One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don´t think that´s terribly far off. I found them cliquey. I hated

WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in
