INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Tribune Broadcasting and CBS Corporation announced Monday a comprehensive, long-term agreement that renews their existing affiliation agreements and gives the nation’s no. 1 network a new home in the Indianapolis market on Tribune Broadcasting’s WTTV. Under terms of the agreement, the CBS affiliate in the Indianapolis area will move from LIN Media’s WISH-TV and begin broadcasting on WTTV (Channel 4) on Jan. 1, 2015. “There’s nothing more valuable to a local station than programming from the no. 1 television network, and Tribune Broadcasting has been a great partner in reaching this agreement,” said Ray Hopkins, president of

Comments:
Heads up to those of you in the Indianapolis market. In January 2015 the Colts games, NCIS, etc. will now be on WTTV-TV Channel 4. You always have to wonder what caused this major change. The Indianapolis Business Journal reports that WISH-TV has been the Indianapolis affiliate for CBS since 1956.

He was the King of Poop. Neverland’s manicured lawns and fairy-tale facade masked a house of horrors and madness, five of Michael Jackson’s maids revealed to The Post. “Michael sometimes ran around where the animals were, and he’d track .?.?. poop throughout the house and think nothing of it,” Maid No.?1 recalled. “Then, if you said something, he’d threaten to make doo-doo snowballs and throw it at you.” When Oprah Winfrey visited the Los Olivos, California, ranch for an interview in 1993, it was pristine. FERGUSON, Mo. - The FBI is investigating possible civil rights violations after a suburban St. Louis police officer fatally shot an unarmed teenager. Cheryl Mimura, a spokeswoman for the FBI´s St. Louis field office, says the agency is looking at possible civil rights violations arising from the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Police say Brown was shot multiple times Saturday in a scuffle with an officer in Ferguson. Mimura says the FBI is monitoring the case and working with St. Louis County police. A candlelight vigil for Brown was held Sunday, and tensions erupted later that night. Nearly three dozen

Sen. Lamar Alexander won Tennessee´s Republican primary Thursday, effectively ensuring he will get a third term in office and a chance to set the Senate´s agenda on labor issues if the GOP wins control of the chamber this fall. Alexander has a shot at becoming chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, as polls show Republicans have a better than even chance of taking back the Senate in November. That is likely to be a big frustration for Big Labor, since Alexander has consistently voted against its agenda. The 74-year-old Alexander is an old-school lawmaker noted for his

Vacationing President Obama will host his 401st fundraiser Monday night on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., continuing his record-setting pace that has had him collecting checks from donors at events on average every five days since becoming president. The Vineyard event is for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee at the Tisbury retreat of Boston’s Berklee College of Music President Roger Brown and his wife, Linda Mason. For the president, it’s a sign that even while he is taking some time off to golf and relax with his family, the business of raising money for his embattled party is endless. He should do well, since

A surprise change in Pentagon contractors is causing headaches for rank-and-file military personnel and their families on the move this summer. International Auto Logistics of Brunswick, Ga., last year won a $305 million bid to handle the transport of about 66,000 personal vehicles owned by service members, family members and civilian employees who move each year within and beyond the United States. Immediately after the new contract began this spring, complaints began rolling in: Cars and trucks shipped to wrong locations, delays of several weeks, vehicles damaged upon arrival and an online vehicle tracking system that typically fails. WASHINGTON — The president of Somalia carried to Washington last week plans for economic development and the hopes of his people to recover from the scourge of terrorism, capped off with a crucial message for America: the threat of Al-Shabaab and other al-Qaeda affiliates in North Africa is not Somalia’s problem alone. “Boko Haram, Al-Shabaab, all of them, these are terrorist organizations — they are linked, they live for each other, they support each other and they are connected globally,” President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud told PJM in an exclusive interview on Friday. “It’s not just an issue of one country or

Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer asked the famed investigative duo Woodward and Bernstein if they learned anything from Watergate that could help future presidents can avoid political scandals. Woodward had one piece of advice, gleamed from Robert McNamara’s lessons from Vietnam. “The advisors to the president need to sit around with the president and argue with him,” he said, “and say, ‘Wait a minute, let’s look at all the options.’ You have to create a conflict situation. McNamara said what happens in the presidency is no one wants to argue with the president, particularly in front of other advisors.

Forty years ago public outrage about the actions of President Richard Milhous Nixon, lead by his long time liberal critics, forced him to be the first U.S. chief executive to resign the presidency. Critics screamed about Nixon’s extra-legal and extra-constitutional conduct as protestors ringed the White House chanting “Jail to the Chief.” Nixon’s men had spied on their fellow citizens, allegedly used the IRS to harass their political enemies, waged war without the consent of Congress and used the CIA in an effort to hide their crimes. No man, Nixon’s critics assured us, was above the law. For his transgressions,

The decision by Sen. John Walsh (D-Mont.) not to seek election in November in the wake of a plagiarism scandal is the latest piece of good news for Republicans as they strive to take control of the Senate in less than three months. Walsh’s departure from the race came in the same week that two Republican senators — Pat Roberts in Kansas and Lamar Alexander in Tennessee — defeated tea party challengers in primary fights, ensuring that every GOP senator seeking reelection would be the party’s nominee. These past seven days typified the fates of the two parties this election

Barack Obama deliberately set out to lose the war in Iraq, and he did. He defied the advice of his joint chiefs of staff to secure America’s formidable military presence and keep 20,000 troops in country, and left Iraq to its own devices and the tender mercies of Iran. In doing so, he betrayed every American and Iraqi who gave his life to create a free Iraq and keep it out of the clutches of the terrorists. Iraq is now a war zone dominated by the terrorist forces of the Islamic State, whose rise Obama’s policies fostered. Both his secretaries

A terrifying jihadist group is conquering and butchering its way across big swaths of Iraq and Syria. Planes are falling out of the sky on what seems like a weekly basis. Civilians are being killed in massive numbers in the Israel-Gaza conflict. Others are falling prey to Ebola in West Africa. The world, in short, is falling apart. That’s how it feels, at least, to those of us who sit at a blessed remove from the death and destruction, but who are watching every bloody moment of it via cable news and social media. Political conservatives are the greatest threat to the nation, President Barack Obama suggested in a kid-glove interview with the New York Times. “The president mused, the biggest threat to America — the only force that can really weaken us — is us,” said the interviewer, Thomas Friedman. “Our politics are dysfunctional… societies don’t work if political factions take maximalist positions,” said Obama, who repeatedly claims to be a moderate stymied by the GOP’s supposed obstructionism and radicalism. “And the more diverse the country is, the less it can afford to take maximalist positions,” Obama added. When he was running for re-election in 2012, President Barack Obama repeatedly took credit for ending the war in Iraq and bringing all U.S. troops home from that country. At the White House on Saturday, however, when talking about his decision to use military force against the al-Qaida-related ISIS terrorist group in Iraq, Obama said removing all U.S. troops from Iraq was not “my decision.” “You know I say what I mean and I mean what I say,” Obama said in Hollywood, Florida on Nov. 4, 2012. “I said I´d end the war in Iraq. I ended it.” That statement

A 40-year political career came to a close after Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie lost his bid for a second term in a stunning primary-election defeat by a fellow Democrat and state senator who defied party leadership to challenge the incumbent. A second intraparty fight for U.S. Senate was too close to call. State Sen. David Ige, once seen as an underdog, cruised to a decisive 35 percentage point win in Saturday´s primary after being dramatically outspent by Abercrombie, who also had high-profile endorsements including President Barack Obama. Ige said his win "proves that people power can be money power, especially in Hawaii."
