A New Life for Refugees, and

UTICA, N.Y. — Sadia Ambure is relieved that it is summer. “I hate the snow,” Sadia, who is 16, said. “It hurts my skin. I’m like a snake — my face turns red, then ashy.” Harsh winters have been one of the challenges of living in this old manufacturing city in upstate New York for Sadia and her family, members of the Somali Bantu tribe. They arrived here from a Kenyan refugee camp almost a decade ago after a stint in St. Louis. “My body is trying to get used to America,” she said. Her mother, Zahara Hassan, 38, who

The mother has 11 children, who she has raised "all by herself" though only having worked for a few years. No mention of who might have fathered all these children but the US taxpayer is their daddy now!

Yes #2. She raised nobody by herself. Since she won´t say it, I will. Thank you American taxpayers. This is a huge whitewash job. I am familiar with what goes on in the Somali refuge enclaves in Texas. They are very troubled communities.

Following reports that someone infected with Ebola has turned up in his home state of Texas, Sen. Ted Cruz on Thursday asked the Federal Aviation Administration to “take every available precaution in preventing additional cases from arriving in the United States.” The FAA so far has responded to concerns about Ebola by saying it is working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is taking the lead on responding to the threat. “Due to the Obama administration’s unclear approach to addressing the threat of the Ebola virus, Americans — particularly the Texans who have possibly been exposed

A former New Jersey toll booth worker said she was told by her supervisor to stop saying “God bless you,” because it might offend motorists. Cynthia Fernandez has filed a lawsuit against the Garden State Parkway claiming her former boss violated her First Amendment rights. “I was so upset, I was crying” the mother of three told me. “There’s nothing wrong with saying ‘God bless you.’” A few weeks ago she was meeting with her supervisor when he laid down on the law on her toll booth language. “He said, ‘I don’t want you to say God bless you anymore.

President Barack Obama claimed Thursday that “the facts” demonstrate that his economic policies are safely guiding the nation’s towards middle-class prosperity. “Those are the facts,” he said. “It’s not conjecture, it’s not opinion… I laid out facts,” he told his audience of upper-income progressives at Northwestern University in Illinois Oct. 2. Obama’s pitch to the progressives combined a mix of flattery, selective data and visceral campaign pitches, including promises of cheap loans for his student audience, more power for would-be regulators and greater wages for women. “If we make sure a woman is paid equal to her efforts, it won’t

The Fannie Lou Hamer Coalition – a group of more than 30 African-American elected officials who feel disrespected by the Democratic Party – endorsed Republican Rick Stream today in the race for St. Louis County executive. Group leader Hazel Erby, a St. Louis County councilwoman, said the Democratic Party has not listened to African-American leaders during important issues in St. Louis County, such as addressing the unaccredited schools and Ferguson unrest. “We wrote letters. We made phone calls, just to be ignored,” Erby said. “That’s not happening anymore.” The group feels their endorsement will deeply hamper Democratic candidate Steve Stenger’s

When government employees buy the California legislature with huge campaign contributions, one of the benefits they expect in return is absolute protection of the lush pensions they are promised, even when their employer goes into bankruptcy. Thus, California law insists that Calpers, the state-backed agency used to provide many government employees with their pensions, is granted very special powers, including the right to seize assets and liquidate them to provide for full payment of pensions, even when other creditors are paid a penny on the dollar. But yesterday, a federal bankruptcy judge in California issued a preliminary ruling indicating that

We´ve been talking about this inevitability for weeks now, so the only ´newsy´ item in this Buzzfeed story is the alleged timeline, which the White House is disputing. President Obama has every intention of expanding his DREAM Act-style power grab to millions of adults who entered the country illegally -- he just knows that doing so before voters go to the polls would further endanger a bunch of Democrats up for re-election. Solution: Don´t rethink the unpopular idea; delay it until the opportunity for an electoral backlash passes. That political Rubicon looms in 34 days. If reporter Adrian Carrasquillo´s sources

Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq as president and Obama is dealing with instability there after the removal of U.S. troops in 2011. President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. And that is right and proper. Because not only was his excuse of blaming us a lie, but when questioned on his lie, White House press secretary Josh Earnest doubled down with a whole new lie — both of which are easily, publicly proven false. On Sunday, Obama said the intelligence community had underestimated the rise of ISIS, saying in an interview

The Obama administration found itself scrambling on Tuesday to defend President Barack Obama for his lackluster 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings, a finding from a new report issued by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI). When asked about the GAI revelation on Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered and unprepared. "Well, I have no validation of those statistics," said Psaki. President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus

HOUSTON, Texas -- Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was found not guilty today by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. This is the highest appellate court in Texas for criminal cases and thus brings DeLay’s political persecution to an end. The court upheld the ruling last year from the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals. That decision tossed out the convictions on money laundering and conspiracy charges. At that time Justice Melissa Goodwin wrote “The fundamental problem with the state´s case was its failure to prove proceeds of criminal activity,” according to a September 19th report on Breitbart News.
