´Eid Extravaganza´ draws North Jersey

Muslims of varied backgrounds, from Palestinians to Pakistanis, gathered Saturday at Overpeck County Park for a celebration that focused on community, family and fun. From sports to shopping, henna tattoos to pony rides, families flowed into Ridgefield Park during the day-long event. The “Eid Extravaganza” was a collaboration between Islamic groups from Bergen, Passaic and Hudson counties: the Young Muslims chapter in Teaneck, the Darul Islah mosque where they are based, the Islamic Center of Passaic County in Paterson and the North Hudson Islamic Education Center. Noureen Qureshi of the Young Muslims said her group has had events in the past

Just a few miles from what was the smoldering remains of the World Trade Center and the 3000 souls who perished there, a hate group disguised as a religion whose members are obligated to kill or convert nonbelievers throws a fair.

Isn´t Eid a RELIGIOUS event? HOW can that happen in a COUNTY (government) park?
Let´s see what happens when Christians put on a big wing ding for Christmas there.

How ironic that another type of Muslim gathering is the subject of the next article down the page.

"Family fun" often involves stoning a spouse or relative to death.

Actually, not a bad solution to the Muslim problem: don´t send them to Guantanamo - send them to New Jersey!

(OK, just another bad NJ joke. I have nothing against NJ - I spent a good portion of my life there. Stay away from Newark, Camden, and Secaucus, and there are some pretty nice areas in that state.)

With so many gathered together, someone missed the chance to herd them all on busses and transport them to a ship to send them back home.

Eid marks the end of Ramadan. This fair seems very similar to the Fall fairs elementary schools have. It certainly could be misleading, but as "Son of Hamas" wrote and showed in interviews, there are the silent Muslims who want no part of the violence. Of course the peaceful ones will also be a target of the virulent hate.

Angry parents have complained after a primary school introduced unisex toilets in a bid to ´prevent transphobia´. Pupils were shocked to discover they had to share the ´gender neutral´ toilets at the start of the school year, sparking concerns from parents. Many say their children do not want to use facilities split with the opposite sex and it makes them feel ´uncomfortable´. Harbour Primary School in Newhaven, East Sussex, has defended the move, which it says is about ´preventing transphobia´. There are around 500 pupils at the school for three to 11-year-olds. The strictest-of-its-kind Texas law requires abortion providers to build hospital-grade facilities and obtain sometimes impossible-to-get hospital admitting privileges. After signed into law last year by Gov. Rick Perry (R), the law forced most of the 41 clinics operating to close.
