Coming Out as Pro-Israel on Facebook
American Thinker, by Danusha V. Goska

I recently spelled out my support for Israel on Facebook. This is new for me. I´m an American baby boomer, and I always took it for granted that my country supported Israel, and that forces infinitely more powerful than I had the job covered. There´s another reason I previously hadn´t said much about Israel: I´m Polish-Slovak-American, and I am Catholic. Polish Catholics are stereotyped as the world´s worst anti-Semites. Poles suck anti-Semitism with their mother´s milk, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir famously declared.

Comments:
This is an outstanding article. I´m reminded of Psalm 2 when I read it. What we are seeing on the world stage is the very acting out of this Psalm, i.e., the nations "taking counsel" against the Lord (whom they can´t see) and His anointed (whom they can see).

Very interesting. When I was little girl in the early 50s, our neighbors were polish. I saw the numbers carved on their forearms as they told us stories of what happened to them and how they escaped and how their family members were tortured and murdered. They told us how they helped the Jews and hid them from the Nazis and were caught and arrested and sent to the death camps for doing so. Millions of the Polish were killed in WWII. But....for some reason....and I know it´s true in historical records, I never heard of the Polish hating Jewish people....I´m sure some of that is sadly true though. Goes to show you.....it´s all an individual choice. I grew up loving the Jewish people and Israel because I read the Bible myself and discovered what GOD WANTS...that makes all the difference.

Yes, excellent article. Just yesterday, I too, felt compelled to tell two Israelis who came into the tasting room where I work that I support Israel in their continuing struggle. Under earlier presidencies, I would have assumed they knew that already.

James Foley was singled out for the harshest treatment by his ISIS captors after they found pictures of his brother who serves in the U.S. Air Force on his laptop computer, fellow prisoners said on Thursday. He was regularly the victim of mock executions including once when he was ´crucified against a wall,´ said French journalist Didier Francois. Francois, 53, told Europe 1 Radio that the captors gave Foley rougher treatment from the rest of them because they discovered a picture of John Foley — the hostage´s 35-year-old officer brother — on his computer.

A Navy diver died at the bottom of a Maryland pond last year after refusing to leave his trapped fellow sailor to drown alone. Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Harris, 23, and Petty Officer 1st Class James Reyher, 28, were sent to dive in the Aberdeen Proving Ground on February 26 2013, but their lifeless bodies were pulled to the surface just 31 minutes after they started the dive. No one knew what had befallen the pair until an investigation, completed last year but only recently released, pieced together the final 31 minutes of the young men´s lives.

Six weeks after the primary runoff election, Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel is launching his formal legal challenge of the election results, saying the evidence is so conclusive that he will be calling for courts to recognize him as the true victor of the race rather than calling for a new election. “Chris McDaniel clearly, clearly won the Republican vote in the runoff,” McDaniel attorney Mitch Tyner said at a Monday press conference. “I say that very assuredly because that’s what the mathematics show. It’s not what I’m arguing. After the election, we did some post-election polling.

A new book claims that Vice-President Joe Biden upsets female Secret Service agents by swimming naked wherever he goes. The book The First Family Detail by best-selling author Robert Kessler purports to tell the behind the scenes secrets of the two most powerful offices in the world as seen by their protection details. Vice-President Biden, claims the book, ´Agents say that, whether at the vice president´s residence or at his home in Delaware, Biden has a habit of swimming in his pool nude,´ Mr Kessler writes. ´Female Secret Service agents find that offensive.´

Why Criminals Are Afraid

Many young people, especially the anti-social, dislike classical music so much that it can be played to discourage them from intimidating, harassing and robbing. This experiment has been successful over many years in countless locations. The earliest occurrence was in the mid-1980s, when Canadian outlets of 7-Eleven played easy listening and classical music to disperse teenagers loitering outside. After that, companies from McDonald's to Co-op, transport authorities, housing estates and shopping malls around the world have employed this method. In the UK, the first to do so was the Tyne-and-Wear Metro system in 1997, following Montreal’s underground system in Canada.

Before dog licenses and leash laws; before doggie mohawks, colored hair and painted toenails; before $100 teeth cleaning, $800 vet bills, and humiliating Halloween costumes, there existed – in almost every sleepy town with a red brick school and a white church steeple – an extinct breed of canine I like to call the American dog. He (or she) went by names like Old Shep, Old Dog Tray, or Spot. This is the story of an American dog.

The American people cheered – starved for any crumb of leadership and faithfulness to constitutional duties – at the news of Governor Rick Perry calling out the Texas National Guard to patrol the Texas-Mexican border. Then, within the hour, Texas officials conceded that the inadequate contingent of 1,000 guardsmen will not actually do anything but stand around. Texas officials now admit that the 1,000 guardsmen will simply be a “visual deterrent” – for appearances only. The Texas government argues that the Texas National Guard will not have authority to arrest anyone under the Posse Comitatus law. But that is absurd.

Not just family, beloved family. And I’m not alone either. All the soldiers for whom they’ve set up cots in their front yard are family too.

Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

SAN DIEGO — African-American elementary students in California were chronically truant at nearly four times the rate of all students during the last school year, according to a state report released Friday. The report by the California Attorney General´s office is the first time the data has been broken down according to race and income levels. Officials say such data is needed to address the problem. Poverty and suspensions are contributing factors. Overall, more than 250,000 elementary school students missed 10 percent or more of the 2013-2014 school year or roughly 18 or more school days. Check your hygiene privilege. Cabbies who smell badly are probably just oppressed folks who came directly from their terrorist training camp to the airport and didn’t have time to change. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
