Prince Harry has revealed his experience of the ´horrendous´ nature of war during his two tours of Afghanistan, in which he encountered children who had died from roadside bombs and soldiers lying on the battlefield. The Royal, who is a Captain in the Army, regularly flew injured personnel and civilians to the hospital at the Camp Bastion military base during his second tour of the country from 2012 to 2013 when he served as an Apache helicopter pilot. Comments:
As close as William, Kate and Harry are, I hope they will have a good bit of influence on Prince Charles. Charles was born in 1948, thus will celebrate his 70th birthday in November 2018. If the heir lives to be 90-ish, William will only be in his fifties. Have patience!

There is something very wrong with our politics. Whatever the outcome in Scotland, whatever the result of the by-election in Clacton--this is serious. A certain amount of disaffection is inevitable in a democratic country. The people who do not get what they voted for--or what they feel they deserve, whichever way they voted--will believe that the system has denied them what is rightfully theirs, and that they have somehow been cheated. But this has now gone way, way beyond the kind of anger and disappointment that is inevitable in a system where the will of the majority always dominates. If

The murder of David Haines was an "act of pure evil", David Cameron has said after the release of a video purporting to show the UK hostage´s beheading. The PM vowed to do "everything in our power to hunt down" the killers of the 44-year-old aid worker, from Perth, who was kidnapped last year in Syria. Islamic State militants have already beheaded two Americans, saying it was in response to US air strikes in Iraq. The latest video also includes a threat to kill a second British hostage. Mr Cameron said the murder of an innocent aid worker was "despicable

San Francisco & Washington - Islamic State´s Twitter users, which have trumpeted the group´s violent acts and worldview on the social media service, have gone abruptly quiet in past days. Several accounts affiliated with the militant group appear to have gone dormant, according to US government sources, raising questions about whether the government has pressured Twitter to clamp down more aggressively or whether the group has moved to other social media channels. When contacted, several US officials said on condition of anonymity they were unaware of attempts to quash those Twitter accounts. The sudden silence also came days after reports about Islamic State-linked accounts threatening

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Friday it would be inappropriate for Iran to attend an upcoming meeting in Paris on how to defeat the Islamic State group, The Associated Press (AP) reported. Speaking to reporters in the Turkish capital, Kerry said he has not been formally asked about whether Iran should participate in the meeting of diplomats set for Monday. However, he added, Iran should not be there, given its support for Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in his three-year war against rebels that are trying to oust him from power. Germany’s flagship Bard 1 offshore wind farm has been described as “a faulty total system” as technical problems continue to plague the project, casting major doubts on the feasibility of large scale offshore projects. The wind farm was officially turned on in August last year but was shut down again almost immediately due to technical difficulties that have still not been resolved--and now lawyers are getting involved. Built at a cost of hundreds of millions and costing between €1 and €2 million a day to service, the project is estimated to have cost €340 million in lost power generation over

Dozens of firefighters were last night battling an ‘explosive’ blaze at a new £15million laboratory at Nottingham University. Students were warned to stay indoors and close all windows and doors to avoid flying debris as the fire tore through the GlaxoSmithKline Carbon Neutral Laboratory--which was due to open next month. A university spokesman insisted an open day would take place as planned today, despite the huge blaze which lit up the sky for miles around, sending plumes of smoke could be seen across the city high into the sky. In April 2003, the list was updated to include 49 countries, though it was reduced to 48 after Costa Rica objected to its inclusion. Of the 48 states on the list, three contributed troops to the invasion force (the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland). An additional 37 countries provided some number of troops to support military operations after the invasion was complete. Despite these numbers the liberal media continues to push the lie

Voter turnout during last month´s primary races was a little too good in some counties, Arizona elections officials said Friday. Some precincts in northern Arizona tallied more ballots cast than there are registered voters, the Arizona Capitol Times reported. According to officials, errors made by poll workers and elections officials in Apache and Navajo counties led to the miscalculations. Initial reports from some precincts showed a turnout of anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434

The Department of Labor coordinated with the White House on whether or not to release hidden portions of former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’ schedule as Solis battled an FBI investigation into her illegal fundraising for President Obama. New emails provided to The Daily Caller from the nonprofit legal research firm Cause of Action show the White House thanking the Department of Labor for “flagging” a public information request for “withheld” portions of Solis’ schedule. The White House then asked for the name of the conservative group making the request — information that Labor officials were eager to give up. As TheDC previously

Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked? Maybe the president was told that, if he

But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder.
