Kerry: Starving Africa Shouldn’t
Build More Farms Because It Would
Contribute to Global Warming

Independent Journal Review, by Mike Miller

Original Article

Speaking at the U.S.-Africa Summit earlier this week, Secretary of State John Kerry had a bit of astonishing advice for African leaders. While noting that Africa faces a starvation problem, he also admonished its leaders not to create more farms. The reason? Adding more farms would contribute to “global warming.” Yeah, he really said that: “Certain agricultural processes can actually release carbon pollution and actually contribute to the problem in the first place. It’s a twisted circle. Always complicated. But we also know that there are certain ways to change that. For example, rather than convert natural areas to new farmland, a process

Should they acquire power in abundance, Africa is opened up to becoming industrialized and a source of cheap labor.

You got them backwards, #18 - JohnKerry went to Yale undergrad and Boston College Law. He couldn´t get into Yale Law, even with all his war hero decorations, which goes to show that even Yale Law has some standards. George Bush went to Yale Undergrad, too, but at least he got into Harvard Business (Graduate) School.

Kerry is an idiot. This Ebola outbreak comes from the natives preparing and eating "bush meat" as their primary source of protein. If they had some decent agricultural practices and raised beef, lamb, goats and chicken it would improve the disease and malnutrition situation immeasurably. I(n southern Africa they used to raise corn (maize) and cornmeal (called "mealy-meal")was a staple of their diet.

But I guess starving to death or dieing from Ebola and Malaria is preferable to contributing to the left´s boutique climate crisis du jure.

The liberals have been keeping Africa poor and dependent for decades. They have restricted access to modern farming techniques and agricultural fertilizers and pesticides that are commonly used by the West, all in the name of the environment. This is purely green racism and white supremacy at work, all in the name of liberalism.

Curses. Floods of curses. Still slavishly serving that anthropogenic global warming lie. If anything encapsulates the Green Left´s misanthropy, Kerry´s statement does. It´s this elementary: Greens hate humanity. The rest of humanity should hate the Greens back. If humanity had been this foolish, this evil, in centuries past, we´d still be living in ramshackle shanties eating tripe. Africa needs abundant energy and large scale agriculture. I hope they get it. Humanity has no meaningful control over the climate, anyway.

The half-joking play about whether she is running is starting to get a little old, but the reasons young attendees at Tom Harkin’s annual confab offered for supporting her were worse. Any question whether Sen. Tom Harkin’s annual steak fry Sunday was really just a Hillary Clinton campaign event in disguise could be dismissed by a look at its logistical priorities: The event had a surfeit of “Ready for Hillary” buttons, T-shirts, and bumper stickers, and there were not enough toilets. Hillary Clinton did one thing well in her much anticipated return to Iowa yesterday: she delivered her prepared sound bite with aplomb. “Hello, Iowa! But Hillary arrived in Iowa knowing she needed to eat a lot more crow than steak. She took the state for granted — or blew it off entirely, depending on which Iowan you ask — back in 2008, when she came in a

As the 2014 midterm election campaign heats up, all indications are that Democrats are headed for a trouncing at the hands of Republicans. Most political prognosticators now give the GOP a better-than-even chance of picking up the six seats it needs to win control of the Senate, and the party is expected to expand its majority in the House. The Republican gains may not match those of the Tea Party wave of 2010 that cost Democrats the House and their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, but it likely will be enough to make President Obama´s final two years in office even more

President Obama’s call on Wednesday for the United States to lead an international military campaign in the Middle East has the potential to begin a departure from the isolationism that he and former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton have advocated during their years in office. There is a risk, however, that the president’s focus on a counterterrorism campaign akin to those waged in Yemen and Somalia, and his reliance on regional partners to deal with the challenge posed by the Islamic State, could lead to the continuation of what has been the most disengaged presidential foreign policy in modern American history.

How did a man who made it into the elite SEALs and lived lavishly while running his own money-lending firm end up homeless near an offramp? It may have been the $1 million he stole. Navy SEALs divide their own into two groups. As they see it, there are the good mugs you can count on, and then there are the 10 percenters, the minority who slip through the screening process and bring disgrace on everyone else. Jason Mullaney might have started off in the first category, but after conning 11 fellow SEALs out of more than $1 million, he’s decidedly in the second. When you are dealing with an administration whose officials look you in the eye and tell you the Muslim Brotherhood is a “largely secular” organization, it’s tempting to laugh off the idiocy spouted by President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry about how the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam. We should resist the temptation, though, because there is a dangerous purpose behind the laughable assertion. In bad midterm-election years, members of a president´s party often find the political climate challenging. In some ways, it is like a swimmer encountering riptides or facing strong undertows. The degree of the danger varies from location to location, and in many cases, weak swimmers struggle in this environment; occasionally, even an Olympic-level swimmer perishes. In 2010—President Obama´s first midterm election—Democratic congressional candidates struggled mightily. The party suffered a net loss of six Senate seats and 63 seats in the House. That was the worst loss for either party in any election since 1948, and the largest loss in a

At the supermarket near his home in central Virginia, Tom Burford likes to loiter by the display of Red Delicious. He waits until he spots a store manager. Then he picks up one of the glossy apples and, with a flourish, scrapes his fingernail into the wax: T-O-M. “We can’t sell that now,” the manager protests. To which Burford replies, in his soft Piedmont drawl: “That’s my point.” Burford, who is 79 years old, is disinclined to apple destruction. Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Department of Justice is launching a new program today in partnership with the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Counterterrorism Center that will train "community leaders" like teachers and social workers to monitor their communities for signs of radicalization. (snip) In his announcement of the initiative, Attorney General Eric Holder described the program as a way to "be both innovative and aggressive in countering violent extremism and combating those who would sow intolerance, division, and hate" in the homeland. He labeled it an expansion of existent efforts to "to identify threats before they emerge, to disrupt

Nancy Pelosi told “Real Time” host Bill Maher that Democrats are not “fear-mongers” but in the same breath said civilization is doomed if Republicans manage to take control of the Senate in November. “It would be very important for the Democrats to retain control of the Senate,” the California Democrat told Mr. Maher on his show Friday night, which aired live from Washington. “Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if Republicans win the Senate.” Mr. Maher pointed out that voter turnout will most likely lean to the right saying, “Nobody comes out
