WASHINGTON – The number of unaccompanied undocumented children apprehended on the southern border of the United States dropped in July to 5,508, compared with more than 10,000 in both May and June, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said. DHS said it was the first time this year that the number has been lower than in the previous month. “While the decrease in apprehensions in July is good news and reflects a positive trend that we hope continues, the current numbers are still higher than the number of apprehensions for children and adults with children during past years,” Homeland Security Secretary Jeh

Comments:
Eventually, they run out of children.

That said, I have my doubts about DHS statistics - the citizens have been lied to repeatedly to ensure Obama´s political advantage. I don´t believe this.

Says right there, apprehensions are down. Given the way these bold devils parse words, one imagines the Border Patrol simply was told to stop apprehending quite so many "unaccompanied children."

Possibly the decline is due to summer heat. Or perhaps just phony numbers from DHS.

Obama and the Democrats failed to gain a political boost from their Children´s Crusade. They didn´t get an amnesty bill either. So I suspect they now want it out of the news until after the elections. The MSM will oblige.

If O really wants the fight he could have issued Executive Orders for amnesty. And he didn´t. But tomorrow is another day.

O.K. - so the number of "unaccompanied undocumented children" has dropped to FIVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHT in July from the count of 10,000 in the month of May and 10,000 in the month of June - that information makes me sleep better......................probably why I wake at 4 a.m.

And are the young men with the funny hand gestures and the tatooed body parts counted as undocumented children? And just who is doing the counting?

And I don´t understand just what the Hate America people think they are accomplishing with all their malevolent and incompetent policies. Don´t they live here too?

number caught is not the same as the number of children who attempt and are successful in crossing the border.

The number caught requires some sort of effort by the Border Guard, who are busy just being nannies now.

Gerald Cheek, now retired from his position as Falkland Islands Director of Civil Aviation, has addressed a letter to the Penguin News clarifying some details about the ´Unwelcome visits from aircraft´, clearly in reference to episodes of Argentine aircraft incursion and landing in the Islands. This was motivated by an article in the Penguin News about the flight of Argentine-Irish pilot Miguel Fitzgerald solo flight in a Cessna 185 aircraft to the Islands in 1964, where he landed at the Stanley racecourse. In effect, Mr. Cheek says that what did puzzle him was the distance stated by Fitzgerald, 550 miles from

The very public break-up between Rep. Mark Sanford and his fiancée came as a surprise to his fiancée, who told the New York Times on Saturday that she learned about it from the media. Maria Belen Chapur told the Times that she had spent time with Sanford in Paris last week. Chapur had such a wonderful time during their time in France that she felt it was like a “honeymoon,” she said. But then she learned Saturday that Sanford had written a 2,400-plus word post on Facebook announcing his intention to break up with her. “I learned it from the press today,”

The front page of today’s New York Times features an article titled Paths to War, Then and Now, Haunt Obama. It is an exercise in journalism as a hall of mirrors. The article, by Peter Baker, is “based on interviews with 10 people who spoke with [Obama] in the days leading up to his speech Wednesday night.” These conversations occurred on two occasions: a dinner at the White House for “a group of foreign policy experts and former government officials,” and a separate discussion with a “group of columnists and magazine writers.” Baker’s article includes extensive quotes by President Obama,

As temperatures soared Friday, a brush fire burning in the mountains of Cleveland National Forest south of Corona grew to 1,600 acres, sending a plume of smoke towering above Silverado Canyon that was visible from miles away. Mandatory evacuations started at 6 p.m. for the area from 30331 Silverado Canyon Road east to the end of the canyon, authorities. That order was issued in part because of expected nighttime downslope winds that could push the flames into populated areas in the canyon bottom, Battalion Chief Mike Petro said. Brush left very dry by the state’s historic drought had created heavy fuels that were burning

On a daily basis, numerous street vendors and performers can be found throughout Lima trying to make ends meet. Whether they are juggling or dancing at intersections or perhaps offering to wash a car, it can be assumed that these individuals have little to no fixed income. It is becoming increasingly likely as well that they are foreigners. On Wednesday, authorities decided that the issue of foreigners who have arrived to Lima illegally needed to be resolved. In such districts as Miraflores, San Isidro, and Central Lima, a total of 32 male and 10 female foreigners were detained. Those rounded up by the police were natives of Argentina,

Voter turnout during last month´s primary races was a little too good in some counties, Arizona elections officials said Friday. Some precincts in northern Arizona tallied more ballots cast than there are registered voters, the Arizona Capitol Times reported. According to officials, errors made by poll workers and elections officials in Apache and Navajo counties led to the miscalculations. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434

But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder. Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked? Maybe the president was told that, if he
