Well, here we go again. This time it’s different, though, because mumble mumble George Bush something something something. Events of his own making have finally forced The Smartest President Ever to do something right for once. And all he has to do is humiliate himself yet again. But not to worry! He’s got backup from his trusty minions. Check out this great NYT headline: Obama, With Reluctance, Returns to Action in Iraq - You can read the story if you really think that’s a good use of your time. The important thing is that you get the message: When Obama

If the twit had shown any support for the Kurds this probably wouldn´t have been necessary and thousands of lives would have been saved.

The Obama Doctrine: when given the choice between doing the Right thing and doing the Wrong thing, always choose Wrong.

In 6 years there has been not a single exception, and this bombing in Iraq won´t be the first.

John McCain’s slip of the tongue won’t help him quell Internet accusations that he once met and took pictures with members of the terrorist group the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).Appearing on Fox News’ “Hannity” Monday night, the Arizona Republican senator went off on Rand Paul after host Sean Hannity brought up the Kentucky Republican senator’s concern that providing weapons to Syrian rebels will only end up benefiting ISIS. “Has Rand Paul ever been to Syria? Has he ever met with ISIS?” McCain fumed, certainly meaning to say the Free Syrian Army instead of ISIS. McCain has long

"If we reach the point where I believe our advisers should accompany Iraqi troops on attacks against specific ISIL targets, I´ll recommend that to the president," Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday. Asked to clarify, Dempsey said that all U.S. troops are trained to be combat-capable, but "that´s different than how we use them." "And in the case of our contributions in Iraq right now, the airmen... are very much in a combat role. The folks on the ground are very much in a combat advisory role. Among the many metrics that show Obama´s home state is struggling to break the Great Recession, a new report shows that applications for food stamps in Illinois is greater than its creation of jobs. Illinois has had the worst recovery from the recession of any state in the country, the Illinois Policy Institute reported this month: "There are nearly 300,000 fewer Illinoisans working today than in January 2008, and 170,000 fewer payroll jobs. " "For every post-recession job created in Illinois, nearly two people have enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps," the Institute

KABUL, Afghanistan - Two Americans were among seven people killed in a massive car bomb near the U.S. Embassy in the Afghan capital Tuesday, a U.S. military official said. One of the U.S. citizens was a service member, the other a civilian, the official said. Earlier the the NATO-led coalition known as ISAF released a statement confirming three of its personnel died in the blast, which apparently targeted an international military convoy in Kabul. ISAF did not release the nationalities of those killed. An Afghan police officer on the scene told NBC News that two ISAF vehicles were destroyed in

The statistics compiled by MRC research director Rich Noyes found that the network evening news broadcasts (ABC, CBS, and NBC) reported on Bush’s numbers 124 times from the beginning of January through the end of August—compared to just nine times for Obama in the same time period during his second term in 2014. In April 2003, the list was updated to include 49 countries, though it was reduced to 48 after Costa Rica objected to its inclusion. Of the 48 states on the list, three contributed troops to the invasion force (the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland). There’s a lot of competition for Barack Obama’s biggest lie. The man who could assure the American public with a straight face over thirty times that they could keep their doctor under his health plan, when he knew that to be completely false, is one hellluva fibber. But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder. Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked?
