The moment Obama began bombing Iraq:
First picture emerges of US air strike on

America waded into the unfolding crisis in Iraq today as it dispatched two warplanes to bombard an ISIS artillery battery in a bid to halt the extremist horde that is sweeping the country and save hundreds of thousands of innocent lives. The F/A-18C Hornets took off from the USS George H. W. Bush in the Persian Gulf this morning before unleashing 500lb laser-guided bombs on a unit of Islamic State fighters marching on Kurdish capital Erbil, where U.S. troops are stationed as well as the American consulate. In an unusual move, news of America´s first military offensive in Iraq since it

If you do not finish the job the first time you will always need to keeping going back.

This is round 3 now in Iraq. Should have kept rolling in ´91, although it´s most likely clinton would have done exactly what the punk has done and pulled out too soon and the cycle would have continued anyway.

America made the choice during the Berlin Airlift and Korea not to win wars. We flew over the Berlin Blockade instead of marching through it and then the "great" Harry Truman decided to fight "fair" in Korea. That´s it.

I can´t help thinking what real military leaders (e.g., Netanyahu, Putin, Assad, al-Sissi) think when reading this pap.

As if the fast degenerating geo-political situation isn’t bad enough, here’s another lorry load of concerns to add to the pile. The UK and US economies may be on the mend at last, but that’s not the pattern elsewhere. On a global level, growth is being steadily drowned under a rising tide of debt, threatening renewed financial crisis, a continued squeeze to living standards, and eventual mass default. [Snip] The raw numbers make explosive reading. Contrary to widely held assumptions, the world has not yet begun to de-lever. In fact global debt-to-GDP--public and private non financial debt--is still growing, breaking

The break-in at the White House makes the US Secret Service look terrible. It also sheds light on an agency that operates largely behind the scenes. One former Secret Service officer who asked not to be identified ("I´m a private person," he says) is as puzzled as anyone about his former colleagues--and "how hapless they seemed". CAIRO--An Egyptian court sentenced 68 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to jail terms on Tuesday, judicial sources said, in a case related to deadly violence a year ago after the army´s ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi. All were found guilty of killing 30 people and intending to kill others in Cairo on October 6, 2013, when more than 50 people died in clashes across the country between Morsi opponents and supporters. For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

President Obama firmly believes the United States is better off now than when he took office, even though the American people cannot “feel” it.
