SketchFactor app racistly helps users
avoid ´sketchy´ black neighbourhoods

Independent [UK], by Christopher Hooton

Original Article

Posted By:Ribicon, 8/8/2014 1:03:29 PM

A new app from smiling young white people in suits has come under fire for crowdsourcing tips on "sketchy" neighbourhoods in order to help pedestrians avoid trouble. Creators Daniel Herrington and Allison McGuire, who previously provoked anger over their GhettoTracker website, insist on their website they are not "racists, bigots, sexists" but are simply trying to help people "take the guesswork out of city nagivation". A press release for SketchFactor is very careful not to link "sketchy" areas with race or poverty, joking that unwanted encounters might include a man wearing no pants or an R Kelly cover artist

Comments:
The writer equates dangerous areas with black populations, then goes on to say that it´s racist to avoid such areas. Imagine living in that twisted funhouse of a mind, if only for a few minutes!

Herrington and McGuire are missing a HUGE marketing opportunity for their app.
It would be tremendously useful during reapportionment, when Dems try to create winding districts for majority minority voters.
And it would be useful to the Dems for their get out the vote drives. This app would tell them where to bus people from and pay them the $20 and free luch to vote.

This could be useful for avoiding crime-ridden areas.

I used a routing service to visit a city. It directed us through local streets of a very sketchy area, where we got lost. I stopped at a fire station and asked for directions, and they gave me proper directions, also urging me to lock my doors, keep the windows closed, and run the light if anyone approached the car.

If an app like this helps people avoid being victimized, so be it.

Angry parents have complained after a primary school introduced unisex toilets in a bid to ´prevent transphobia´. Pupils were shocked to discover they had to share the ´gender neutral´ toilets at the start of the school year, sparking concerns from parents. Many say their children do not want to use facilities split with the opposite sex and it makes them feel ´uncomfortable´. Harbour Primary School in Newhaven, East Sussex, has defended the move, which it says is about ´preventing transphobia´. There are around 500 pupils at the school for three to 11-year-olds. One concerned mother said her seven-year-old

President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus
