RNC Refuses to Censure Henry Barbour
American Spectator, by Jeffrey Lord

Yesterday the Republican National Committee, meeting in Chicago for its summer gathering, refused even to hear two resolutions dealing with the censure of Mississippi Republican National Committeeman Henry Barbour. Barbour has admitted to playing a role (as reported here by NRO’s Eliana Johnson) in funding a controversial ad that has been widely criticized for its racial content. Johnson reported that Barbour was “not distancing himself from the inflammatory ads.” The resolutions were being pushed by Missouri Republican State Chairman Ed Martin. Today the RNC is having a members-only breakfast in which a discussion of the issue is supposed to be

This type of thing will cost the GOP a few million votes in both 14 and 16.

Is protecting Barbour worth one close loss of a senate seat because angry conservatives have had ENOUGH.

Barbour should show some gonads and resign instead of doing even more damage than he has already.

This is entirely what is wrong with the GOP. There are no longer any principles by which they live. There is no difference between them and the dems. None!

Seemingly testimony that there is little difference anymore between "R´s" and "D´s". Here in KAnsas THE REPUBLICAN PARTY RAN extra candidates in our Senate Race to dilute the vote and give Sen. Pat Robertson another term in the Senate. [ His main residence is in Virginia, and he has "a friend´s sofa in Kansas".] They siphoned off over 9 % of the vote ( about Robertson´s Margin of winning) to defeat Dr. Wolf ( TEA Party Candidate) . 42 years in the Senate: Robertson need to retire to Virginia and write a book.

I contacted the National Committeeman from Texas about this situation this morning and invited him to meet with our Tea Party and I hope several others will join us. He agreed to have the meeting within the hour. I expect he takes us seriously. I copied the National Committeewoman at the same time. It would not be as easy for her to meet with us. If the Tea Parties respond and this grows, the State Chairman and elected officials will also be invited. We´ll see.

We absolutely need every R to take back the Senate. After Harry Reid is gone, its time to start the RINO eradication program. Most RINOs don´t realize that they have been protected by the press. When the GOP is in control, they are going to savage any GOP Congressman that makes a silly remark. Right now they are considered swing votes. Once in the majority they will be targets. McCain in particular is going to be surprised.

They, the RNC, know not what their selfish personal desires have done to those of us in the base. Personally, I´m disgusted and feel that there is nothing I can do and nothing they will do to fix the problems that this nations faces. Will they secure the borders, will they cut the deficit, will they shrink the government by cutting waste, fraud, abuse, unproductive workers, etc......? NO, these people won´t. Will they nominate a presidential candidate we can trust to do the aforementioned....? NO, these people won´t Will they eliminate open primaries that defeat the best and brightest? NO, these people won´t? Then, why the hell should any of us vote for them, only to be disappointed all over again. Isn´t 50 years of devotion enough to teach me that, other than Reagan, we´ve had our desired ignored?

Great! Another national election where I get to hold my nose and pull the R lever. While I can´t get very excited about it , this is probably the last hope of saving this country. But if we do control both houses, that´s when the REAL work begins. Just seeing McCain resign in a fit of maverick anger would be worth it.

I suppose this is today’s update on the War on Women, but it once again seems to be coming from the opposite side of the aisle than you’d expect if you’re watching cable news. Our story comes to us from New York’s 21st congressional district, also locally known as “the North country” for its rural, mountainous nature. Many long time election fans will better remember it as it was known before the last census redistricting when it was NY-23 and the site of the 2009 special election debacle featuring Dede Scozzafava. An aircraft chartered by coalition forces in Afghanistan, en route from Bagram air base to Dubai, landed Friday in Bandar Abbas, Iran, after Iranian officials questioned its flight plan, U.S. officials said. The plane had been contacted by Iranian air traffic controllers, who instructed it to return to Afghanistan and file the correct plan. When the pilots informed the Iranians they did not have enough fuel to return to Bagram, they were asked to land. One official said Iranian fighter jets had escorted the plane, which was carrying approximately 100 Americans and possibly a pair of Canadians, to the ground.

An internal training guide used by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs compared veterans unhappy about their care to Oscar the Grouch, a newspaper reported. The Philadelphia Inquirer obtained a VA training slide show with tips for employees on how to help veterans with their claims. It was shown to VA employees staffing town-hall events with veterans in Philadelphia. About a dozen slides included pictures of the grumpy "Sesame Street" character who lives in a trash can. The slide show said that veterans might be demanding and unrealistic, and advised staffers on "what to say to Oscar the Grouch."

Despite all the people who act as if they know exactly what happened, nevertheless when the full facts come out, that can change everything. Cruz agreed to speak to this group, which included bishops of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, ostensibly out of solidarity, but took the occasion to antagonize them over their insufficient praise for Israel, then smeared them as anti-Semites before dropping the mic. Voter turnout during last month´s primary races was a little too good in some counties, Arizona elections officials said Friday. Some precincts in northern Arizona tallied more ballots cast than there are registered voters, the Arizona Capitol Times reported. According to officials, errors made by poll workers and elections officials in Apache and Navajo counties led to the miscalculations. Initial reports from some precincts showed a turnout of anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434
