RNC Refuses to Censure Henry Barbour

Yesterday the Republican National Committee, meeting in Chicago for its summer gathering, refused even to hear two resolutions dealing with the censure of Mississippi Republican National Committeeman Henry Barbour. Barbour has admitted to playing a role (as reported here by NRO’s Eliana Johnson) in funding a controversial ad that has been widely criticized for its racial content. Johnson reported that Barbour was “not distancing himself from the inflammatory ads.” The resolutions were being pushed by Missouri Republican State Chairman Ed Martin. Today the RNC is having a members-only breakfast in which a discussion of the issue is supposed to be

Is protecting Barbour worth one close loss of a senate seat because angry conservatives have had ENOUGH.

Barbour should show some gonads and resign instead of doing even more damage than he has already.

This is entirely what is wrong with the GOP. There are no longer any principles by which they live. There is no difference between them and the dems. None!

Seemingly testimony that there is little difference anymore between "R´s" and "D´s". Here in KAnsas THE REPUBLICAN PARTY RAN extra candidates in our Senate Race to dilute the vote and give Sen. Pat Robertson another term in the Senate. [ His main residence is in Virginia, and he has "a friend´s sofa in Kansas".] They siphoned off over 9 % of the vote ( about Robertson´s Margin of winning) to defeat Dr. Wolf ( TEA Party Candidate) . 42 years in the Senate: Robertson need to retire to Virginia and write a book.

I contacted the National Committeeman from Texas about this situation this morning and invited him to meet with our Tea Party and I hope several others will join us. He agreed to have the meeting within the hour. I expect he takes us seriously. I copied the National Committeewoman at the same time. It would not be as easy for her to meet with us. If the Tea Parties respond and this grows, the State Chairman and elected officials will also be invited. We´ll see.

We absolutely need every R to take back the Senate. After Harry Reid is gone, its time to start the RINO eradication program. Most RINOs don´t realize that they have been protected by the press. When the GOP is in control, they are going to savage any GOP Congressman that makes a silly remark. Right now they are considered swing votes. Once in the majority they will be targets. McCain in particular is going to be surprised.

They, the RNC, know not what their selfish personal desires have done to those of us in the base. Personally, I´m disgusted and feel that there is nothing I can do and nothing they will do to fix the problems that this nations faces. Will they secure the borders, will they cut the deficit, will they shrink the government by cutting waste, fraud, abuse, unproductive workers, etc......? NO, these people won´t. Will they nominate a presidential candidate we can trust to do the aforementioned....? NO, these people won´t Will they eliminate open primaries that defeat the best and brightest? NO, these people won´t? Then, why the hell should any of us vote for them, only to be disappointed all over again. Great! Another national election where I get to hold my nose and pull the R lever. While I can´t get very excited about it , this is probably the last hope of saving this country. But if we do control both houses, that´s when the REAL work begins. Just seeing McCain resign in a fit of maverick anger would be worth it.

DENVER - Hundreds of high school students in Colorado´s second-largest school district staged a walkout on Wednesday to protest proposed changes to a history curriculum that would stress patriotism and discourage civil disobedience. Student protesters marched outside schools waving placards bearing slogans such as: "My School, My Education, My Voice!" and "Don´t Make History a Mystery!" The demonstrations marked the third straight day of protests at six high schools in Jefferson County, a suburban Denver school district of 84,000 students. The controversy stems from proposed changes to an advanced placement history curriculum proposed by a school board member who was

PHOENIX — Video footage of Jodi Arias' Sept. 29 penalty phase retrial should be allowed to be broadcast 30 minutes after the end of each day's proceedings to afford the public their constitutional right to witness criminal trials, a media lawyer argued Monday. Arias was convicted of murder last year in the 2008 killing of her ex-boyfriend at his suburban Phoenix home, but jurors couldn't decide on her sentence. The retrial will determine if she gets the death penalty or life in prison. Arias' first trial was broadcast live, but Judge Sherry Stephens denied that right this time around, ruling that no footage could be broadcast until after the verdict.

Democrats’ Push to Criminalize Dissent

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Dissent is the lowest form of crime. If you are a drone in the hive of the Left, it is possible — easy, in fact — to believe both of those things at the same time. Free speech just won an important victory in a federal courtroom, though it is shameful that the case ever even had to go to court. Ohio had enacted a plainly unconstitutional law that empowered a government panel to determine whether criticisms offered in political advertisements were sufficiently true to be permitted in the public discourse. An aircraft chartered by coalition forces in Afghanistan, en route from Bagram air base to Dubai, landed Friday in Bandar Abbas, Iran, after Iranian officials questioned its flight plan, U.S. officials said. The plane had been contacted by Iranian air traffic controllers, who instructed it to return to Afghanistan and file the correct plan. When the pilots informed the Iranians they did not have enough fuel to return to Bagram, they were asked to land. One official said Iranian fighter jets had escorted the plane, which was carrying approximately 100 Americans and possibly a pair of Canadians, to the ground.
