GOP´s nasty border bill
USA Today, by Kirsten Powers

Original Article

The GOP has shown time and again that it is incapable of passing any meaningful immigration reform. But give them tens of thousands of Central American children fleeing violence, and they fly into action. Turns out, what animates today´s Republicans is deporting kids. So inspired were they, the GOP-controlled House of Representatives stayed late Friday to distort and demagogue a humanitarian crisis, passing a reprehensible bill that the Republicans claim addresses the border crisis. Kevin Appleby, director of the Office of Migration Policy at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, told me, "This bill guts any real due process for

Kirsten is nasty. She´s frustrated because her favorite dems are getting blasted on this immigration mess. She is snarky on Fox News with Bret Baier and really doesn´t make much sense when asked to respond to anything! She gets no respect from me.

There are two diametrically opposed actions to take here. One is to deport all who crash our borders, and the other is to send airplanes to trouble spots of the world to import all who would otherwise might have to take a perilous trip.

Kirsten inhabits that unhappy space where she wants children to make a perilous trip, and to risk life and limb. Not a good position to hold

I´m getting sick and tired of these overrated pundits blaming congressional Republicans for everything while the congressional do nothing Democrats sit in their congressional seats and eat Cheetos all day. It´s time to start calling them out by name for their total withdrawal and incompetence on the issues.

Let´s face it, Obama has totally decimated the once (decades ago) respected Democrat Party. Every time the pundits start trashing the Republicans for being fractured, at least there´s something of substance there to fracture and eventually be healed. On the other hand, the Democrats are a bunch empty vile vessels... aka congressional zombies.

How is it defensible that taxpayers should care for these children for 2 years while the incompetent government figures out how to send them home? And who would believe the claim by the UN that they have confirmed with the kids that they are fleeing violence. Particularly when the Border Patrol reports that virtually all have come because of the Permiso.

Kirsten is smarter than this. This isn´t about ´the children´. This is about the borders being opened up to illegal immigrants from all over the world coming in through Mexico; children sent here on their own to pave the way for the rest of the family to join them all the while expecting free food, housing, education, health care, etc. on the backs of already overtaxed Americans; and let´s not forget the gang members, criminals and other riff raff that the media carefully keep out of the news. Let´s just show the little boys and girls with their teddy bears and use these images to beat Republicans and those uncaring conservatives senseless. Right.

If we all write to Fox and complain about her, perhaps they will replace her with someone with a brain. Bob Beckel as well. He never debates, he just calls everyone names and is foul mouthed. Fox can do better, and, oh yes, let´s not forget Jerry Rivers.

This Kirsten Powers appears on the FNC every day and is an extreme liberal as far as illegal immigration goes, she has said many times that the USA should take in any young illegal alien who appears at the borderline and take care of them. Considering that there are over a billion young aliens living in third world countries all over the world who can fit that in that category, it is clear that it is Powers herself who is out of touch with reality.

As far as the cutoff date for DACA beneficiaries being 2007, Obama could change that cutoff date to 2015 with a stroke of his pen.

While more famous for his anti-war activities as a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s and ‘70s, he is now a committed educator. In early June 1964, a group of Republican governors sought to wrestle control of their party from Barry Goldwater, the Arizona conservative who was about to lead the GOP to one of the most crushing defeats in its history. The governors saw a disaster in the making, and sought a moderate candidate who could capture the imaginations of grassroots Republicans—but also beat President Lyndon Johnson in the general election. It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.
