Israel Demands Hamas Be

Washington Free Beacon, by Adam Kredo

ERUSALEM—Israel is seeking a “robust” and complete disarmament of Hamas in the Gaza Strip in order to ensure that there is no resumption in hostilities, according to a senior Israeli Foreign Ministry official who briefed the Washington Free Beacon on upcoming Egyptian-brokered ceasefire talks between the terror group and Israeli government. However, Hamas is already making untenable demands on the Jewish state that will not be met under any circumstances, according to the senior Israeli official, who agreed to discuss the nascent talks on condition of anonymity. The official spoke to a group of pastors in Israel on a trip organized by

Let´s hope our Secretary of State and President (fools both) don´t force the Israelis to abandon those demands. It would be typical of Lurch´s perfidious behavior to try to push Israel to give in to Hamas. Hang in there, Bibi, Conservatives are with you.

I loved it when Netanyahu told Kerry never to second guess him again.

The 72-hour truce is due to end tomorrow (Friday) at 0800 Israel time. There is little to no chance that Hamas will agree to the extension offered by Israel. Hamas has told Al Jazeera that it is ready to go as soon as the ceasefire ends. That would be around 0100 US Eastern. No doubt Israel is ready to go too.

Israel should demand Hamas be disarmed during and after the negotiations.

Israel should demand Hamas remove the verbiage "the destruction of Israel and drive all the Jews into the sea before Israel will even discuss having negotiations.

How can you even consider compromise with a people who want you dead?

Pope orders review of annulment
process to simplify procedure

VATICAN CITY - Pope Francis has ordered a review aimed at simplifying the Church´s procedures for annulments, the Vatican said on Saturday, a move that could make it easier for Catholics to end marriages. A statement said Francis had appointed an 11-member commission of canon lawyers and theologians to propose reform of the process, "seeking to simplify and streamline it while safeguarding the principle of the indissolubility of marriage". An annulment, formally known as a "decree of nullity," is a ruling that a marriage was not valid in the first place according to Church law because certain pre-requisites, such as free will, psychological maturity and openness to having children, were lacking.

A lot of National Football League players have been right up on the front page lately, but for all the wrong reasons. Ray Rice is in serious trouble for knocking his then-fiancé out cold—the tape of the event is enough to make almost anyone at least slightly ill. Adrian Peterson will soon be up on charges for punishing his four-year-old son with a switch. Two other ballers of an especially hard-nosed type are also in trouble with the law over domestic abuse. Greg Hardy of the Carolina Panthers has been convicted of the crime: his case is on appeal.

Vice President Biden´s Wednesday kicked off with an acknowledgment that he had used a "poor choice of words." By day´s end, he had put foot in his mouth again. Twice. Biden opened the door to the possibility the United States could commit ground troops to fight the Islamic State in Iraq, a strategy the Obama administration has painstakingly avoided raising. That came shortly after he walked back his use of the word "Shylocks" and his use of the anachronistic term "Orient" to describe Asia. Even for the gregarious and outspoken vice president, whose candor has all too often gotten him into hot

John Travolta is feeling his celebrity Achilles heel aching after claims that he´s gay and a lawsuit to boot. "This is every celebrity´s Achilles heel," the 60-year-old actor told The Daily Beast in an interview published Tuesday. Travolta was referring to the lawsuit by Douglas Gotterba, a former pilot for his aircraft company, Alto, who worked for him in the ´80s and is alleging they were also lovers. Gotterba is seeking the right to publish a tell-all book about their romance. "It´s just about people wanting money," the award-winning actor said. "That´s all. It happens on many levels."

David Gregory, the ousted moderator of NBC´s "Meet The Press," thinks Washington´s political media are too lazy to go against the "narrative." Moderating a panel at the No Labels´s National Strategic Agenda meeting on Wednesday, Gregory said journalists often fail to report on anything that fights the set narrative in Washington media. “[I]n Washington political journalism the narrative gets set, and it gets set early and built on. And things that fight the narrative get harder to report out, I think, often because of laziness in media,” Gregory said. “I think that the media…has gotten very attached to the idea that Washington

Obamacare´s ´family glitch´

Nearly two million Americans could be affected by what’s been termed the “family glitch” within President Obama’s healthcare law, according to a new study by the American Action Forum. In theory, Obamacare is supposed to offer fully or partially subsidized health insurance to Americans below a certain income threshold if they do not have the option of obtaining affordable coverage through their employers. "Affordable" is defined as coverage cheaper than 9.5 percent of household income. But under a ruling by the Internal Revenue Service, an employer is only required to offer affordable coverage to individuals. The “glitch” arises when one or both spouses

Power outages linked to L.A.´s intense heat wave rolled across the city Tuesday. As temperatures approached dangerous highs, harried crews restored service to one area only to be sent to another blackout. The scorching heat wave has pushed demand for electricity to an all-time high, and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power dispatched extra crews to respond to damaged equipment that had left thousands of customers without service. As of 10 a.m., there were 3,300 customers without power, most of them in Los Feliz and Hollywood.

It may be thought that as an Australian I have no right to publish an opinion on American politics, but the whole world has an interest in who leads America. Your hopes and fears are ours. So, as one who has watched Obama’s policies of defeatism, retreat, and serial blundering with dismay, here goes. No one can read his biography and fail to be impressed by his achievements and credentials. He is a fine speaker, and his background is, unlike

Those pushing to have more states legalize marijuana consider this drug rather harmless, medically beneficial and liberal politicians consider this issue one that will attract voters. I don´t blame Rubio for not discussing whether he indulged n his youth or not. He is a public official with young children and carries a different responsibility than the rest of us. On the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, President Obama used the occasion last week to remind Americans that “our combat mission in Afghanistan will come to an end” in three months. But the cost to U.S. taxpayers for reconstruction in Afghanistan will continue. The U.S. has spent $104 billion to rebuild Afghanistan’s security forces, infrastructure, economy, and health care and education sectors. America is spending more on the effort this year alone than it’s spending on foreign assistance for Israel, Iraq, Egypt and Pakistan combined, said John Sopko, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction.

It’s a research hub that is designed like a news site and will issue detailed, rapid responses to charges against Clinton — mimicking the way a campaign would defend a candidate in real time during a presidential debate.

That rare respiratory illness sickening children around the country continues to crop up in new places. It has been confirmed in 22 states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday, appearing in three states where it had not been previously: Georgia, Michigan and Washington state. These children are facing an uncommon enterovirus strain. While enteroviruses in general are quite common, this particular strain — enterovirus 68 — has not cropped up terribly often since it was first identified in 1962. It can cause severe breathing problems, a particular danger for children who may suffer from asthma or other

Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

The French did for President Obama on Friday what they refused to do for his predecessor — they joined the fight in Iraq. Two Rafale fighter planes armed with laser-guided bombs “entirely destroyed” an Islamic State munitions depot and killed dozens of ISIS fighters, making France the first coalition country to make good on its promise to battle the murderous militants. “Other operations will follow in the coming days with the same goal — to weaken this terrorist organization and come to the aid of the Iraqi authorities,” French President Francois Hollande vowed. SALEM, N.H. — Voters have soured on President Obama. National and statewide trends favor Republicans. And here in his new home state, Scott Brown’s truck is gaining speed. Analysts and recent polls have found Brown closing in on US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Democratic incumbent he is vying to unseat, in a race that has become increasingly nasty and expensive. Once largely dismissed by critics as an unlikely second act in a state he moved to only last year, Brown’s Senate bid is increasingly seen as a plausible path back to the US Capitol. The National Security Advisor of the United States did something astonishing yesterday. In the middle of a reporter’s questioning, she bolted from the podium of the White House pressroom, saying, “Nice to see you,” fleeing a situation she evidently was unable to cope with. The question that caused Ms. Rice to flee was a fairly simple one: whether or not the president has authorized the bombing of targets in Syria. Rice responded multiple times that the timing of strikes would not be released, but that was not the question at hand, and reporters pressed her on whether her boss had authorized
