‘Extraordinarily Irresponsible’ —
Obama Gives Pointless, Yet Damaging,
Press Conference

PJ Media, by Bryan Preston

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 8/6/2014 9:08:52 PM

President Obama gave a press conference this evening. He started a little over an hour late without explanation. Reporters stuck to asking questions that they evidently knew Obama would be comfortable answering. None of them asked him about any of his administration scandals. ABC’s Jon Karl, usually a tough questioner of Obama and his spokesmen, asked a rambling question that played right into the Democrats’ “economic patriotism” canard. Despite the fact that the president showed a passionless, bloodless, disinterested face to the world, he still managed to do some damage. Chris Jansing of CNN asked Obama if the sanctions against Russia are working.

Comments:
I could not bring myself to watch that train wreck. From the comments I have read I don´t understand why he even did it. He looks frail, weak and pathetic. Not something I want to see in my president.

I watched, silly me, and I don´t know what he said. I think he just likes to himself speak and loves the sound of his voice. If he spends enough time wandering around a subject, then he can end the conference when his time is up and doesn´t need to make any sense. He doesn´t speak English very well. He drops the ´g´ at the end of words and sounds like an idiot. That´s redundant isn´t it.

A pathetic, prevaricating performance. And Jon Karl...Dude...that was a classic slobbering love affair MSM walkabout pretzel of a question, giving Obama about 12 different angles to escape the original intent of the kinda-sorta question.

The last sentence says it all:

It was a poor performance made all the poorer by the media’s lack of any detectable backbone.

A child, really. And not that smart.

He proves time and time again that, while he may have attended prestigious universities, he received NO education.

He cannot speak. He has ZERO command of the language. he has poor grammar, uses the wrong words, runs on and on hoping to find a point. Often he actually contradicts himself because of the use of double negatives.

Unless it is written for him...he is useless.

Remember he has a LAW DEGREE...a profession where it is imperative that wording be exact. Can you imagine him addressing a jury?

NBC polling indicates around 75%+ of Americans are disgusted with him and have lost hope their children will fare better in life than they did. NBC!

I think this is unprecedented and if the White House thought this press conference helped, they´re more stupid than Obama sounded tonight.

It was the usual sickening spectacle.

The leftist lapdogs asked a series of two-part questions - - each of which had the same theme - -

1. How does it feel to be as amazing as you are?
2. How do you manage to tolerate those awful Republicans?

The world is burning - - and the ;lapdogs are just whimpering.

Call me crazy, but I am convinced that he is being prompted someway when he speaks without the teleprompter. Watch the way he says about a dozen words and then he pauses and his eyes go down as if he is listening to something. Then he speaks another few words and repeats.

It´s way past time to applaud OP for finding and posting all these articles, day after day. On one level it´s encouraging to see how many writers are catching on and/or risking some kind of retaliation for revealing the true nature of Obama and his administration. On another level, it´s quite disturbing to read about so much going on that can cause our country to fall into chaos at any time.

OP, hope I´m speaking for everyone here when I say your hard work is much appreciated by all. Thank you.

The day the American electorate wants an extraordinarily responsible president is the day they stop electing Democrats to the job.

At least Dear Leader, our own Cicero, always manages to give the word "meaninglessness" new and unimagined resonance.

#12 - you have to wonder - if he is being prompted, either thru a listening device, or perhaps someone somewhere furiously typing - in consonants and an occasional vowel - responses which could be read from a screen in the podium´s surface - just who is coming up with the "clearly-thought-out" gobbledygook he comes up with.

(For some reason, I watched most of it on C-span and thought he looked exhausted.)

Not only because you are idiots, mean spirited, evil, but because you don´t have the introspection to see yourselves as you really are, and more importantly, you can´t see that your lord and master is the chief idiot, the pinnacle of evil and a liar and .....just go back to post six and read it again. It is well known in the black community that there is "White time" and "Black time". If it is a white audience, they will be kept waiting simply because the speaker can do it. It´s time for the networks to give them a few minutes leeway, then return to their regular program and not give them a forum.

I watched it (accidentally -- I was tuned to Fox News when he just popped up.)

He was incoherent. His eyes were not just dead but he looked as though he was trying to stay awake, wobbling a bit. I watched and listened closely.

The inconsistency was immediately glaring, about how he "doesn´t know" if the sanctions are working and how "the sanctions are working." I said to my spouse, "He just totally contradicted what he said a minute earlier."

The entire press conference was Obama trying desperately to be cool and sound like he knew what he was talking about. The actual impression left was that he was totally out of it and had no idea what was going on outside in the real world.

Protecting this man is going to kill this country. The media had better get on this quickly -- their careers are at stake, too.

I´m living for the day when there is a newscast on the AM radio station that either doesn´t lead with news about him or lead with an audio of something he´s said. All day every day since about 2007. Enuf already!

Confronted by events that threaten serious harm to our nation, Mr. Obama was characteristically glib and pompous.

Will the press report on what happens to the promises he made to the African nations in his opening statement? I kid.

Obama´s attitude is that of a professor whose job it is to know the subject and comment with erudition about it but who has absolutely no responsibility for achieving results that would make the situation better.

It would be nice if we had a President who understood his job.

Hearing BO constantly repeat "ah, um, ahhh, umm, ah, ah" is enough to make me flip out.

IF my teenagers ever spoke in that matter, I´d make sure they go to a speech therapist.

Not from the same pressed, but yesterday on the radio I heard a sound byte of him talking about the importance of protecting Crimea´s borders, sovereignty, language and culture. All the while he is destroying those very things in America.

If the demoncrats had once iota of shame or concern for the future of the country and their party, they´d force him to resign.

The DC establishment and the media all gossip with each other. They all know (with anecdotes) what we can see. Obama is not all there, maybe drugs, who knows. They know he is not in charge. Not one member of the press will report this. Not one establishment Republican will inform the American people.

For reasons I can´t explain, I listened to the entire thing. As a member of Toastmasters, I quickly kicked into Speech Evaluation mode. The whole thing was a debacle. The reporters´ questions were disjointed and indecipherable, and Barry´s answers were rambling and incoherent, punctuated with a grossly excessive amount of ers, ahs, ums and other crutch words along with stuttering and stammering and occasionally repeating himself. He seemed to be filibustering nonsense so as to kill time so that there be less opportunity for additional questions. It was a text book display in how not to give a speech. He should be totally embarrassed by this performance, but knowing him, he probably thinks he delivered another Gettysburg Address.

As to the coherence re: the rest of his speech, which was more than an hour late (promptness is the courtesy of kings----and this guy is no king---it is ALWAYS "I am late because I can call the shots") I started watching each answer to questions re: his pen and his phone, but they were largely and typically incoherent, and why does it matter anyway: he NEVER follows through on anything he says.

Somewhat in the mindset that would have led a 1930s German Jew to listen to a radio broadcast by Der F?hrer, I tried to watch Obama´s speech yesterday.

The only constructive info gained was a slightly enhanced understanding of the psychology behind Scarlett Ohara´s penchant for dramatic tardy descents down the plantation mansion´s staircase.

Couldn´t understand what he was trying to say. After reflection, couldn´t be sure what he actually said.
Then again, it is not important because what Obama says has little or no relationship to what he has done, intends to do or even what he will do and even less connection to actual facts.

Only 898 days until January 20, 2017. Hope we last that long. [sigh]

I just could not subject myself to the torture of watching Obama. Thank you all for watching and reporting back. (I knew I could count on you.).

Evidently it was, as I expected, quite a performance. However, my thoughts are on the media. They truly are reprehensible. I do not expect them to attack him but they certainly could ask short pointed questions and follow up. It is apparent they are not seeking truthful answers. They just want to make their guy look good. However, it is getting more difficult to do that because Obama is unraveling. He, more than likely, has never had to be this engaged in his job before, or even this accountable. This position is forcing him to work and it is too much. I agree that he probably is hitting pretty hard whatever may be his drug of choice. He is addlepated and incomprehensive. How long would the media accept this kind of performance from a Republican President before the rumors started and the jokes started flying on late night TV. It would probably shock us all to know exactly how this President spends his down time. One thing we all do know is the media elites in this country are worthless ideologues.

I CANNOT BELIEVE I watched most of this dreck! Through most of it I didn´t know whether I should laugh or cry. I got a special hoot when he was opining about the lack of media freedom and human rights in Africa. This from a ´man´ who practically dictates to a lapdog media what they can/cannot report and whose ´administration´ goes after those few in the media who will not comply; and who even as I type this is probably on a golf course dreaming up thousands more pages of regulations with which to hamstring us.
And don´t get me started about his grammer!! Can he give even one talk without using the words ´the folks´ and ´a whole bunch of........? (fill in the blank).

The presser was tuned in, not watched, and (must say) the audio was somewhat ignored. Jonah Goldberg, on Bret Baier´s broadcast said it best when asked what he thought. Jonah came back with a snappy reply about being bowled over hearing such great orator using his craft. Ouch that had to hurt. Sorry JG,your word for word has been blurred since sleep.

Please get the puppet on stage every week as many times as one might stand it. Perhaps the lofos will become as sick of seeing the image as most normal Americans are. Not only are the Ruskies laughing themselves silly, the common folks in this Nation are doing the same.

Compare this torture to having a seat in a theater watching a very bad movie but not wanting to leave because I want to get my monies worth. So, will continue to watch until ´The End´

He looks and sounds like someone who needs an old fashioned lobotomy. Most days he is incoherent and other days a replica of his Occidental College drug afflicted, self important Marxist dorks that smart people try avoid.

He has always been pointless, irresponsible, and damaging to himself and others. Russian students made fun of him recently with a laser light show projected on the US Embassy in Moscow depicting him eating a banana on his birthday.

This is only going to get worse. He faces countless investigations and harassment when he leaves office and may have to move to one of his beloved Muslim countries to escape prosecution or worse. They aren´t going to put up with Wookies and the Grandma from hell.

Anyone notice that, in addition to dropping his "g"s, his "s"s whistle? Once you´re aware of it, it´s incredibly annoying and at the same time funny (in a pathetic way - it´s almost like Monty Python time). I´ve also noticed that he employs a whining voice more and more often. In addition, has anyone else noticed that he frequently now leans on his elbow, not bothering to stand up straight? I don´t recall other presidents doing this. He looks and sounds very unpresidential... more and more so.

I predict that before this Fraud leaves office, we will suffer some sort of disastrous event. It may be another 9/11 style attack or it may be economic in nature or something totally unexpected. Whatever it is will result from his complete disengagement.

I also predict that after he´s finally gone, stories of drug abuse and incompetence will emerge on a scale so huge that we won´t be able to comprehend how it could have happened.

The L.A. Times is warning that the “worst is yet to come” if a grand jury fails to indict white officer Darren Wilson for shooting and killing black 18-year-old Michael Brown. If the grand jury fails to indict the officer who killed Michael Brown, almost everyone here thinks things will get worse. “They’re not going to be looting next time,” said Kevin Seltzer, 30, who lives at an apartment complex near where Brown, 18, was shot. “They’re going to burn the city down.” The article highlights recent indications that the city is “far from finding peace,” including continued clashes with officers, the shooting

WASHINGTON — The Senate’s minority whip is confident about Republicans being the majority in the 114th Congress — if conservatives can set aside differences and work to combat the massive influx of donor cash that has Democratic campaigns ahead in the money race. Only in the majority, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) stresses, can conservatives make headway on tamping down overregulation, repealing and replacing Obamacare, securing the “chaotic” border, getting Keystone XL moving, and bringing civilized debate back to the upper chamber. And only by realizing the gravity of the battle for November, he argues, can Republicans relegate Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

ABC’s Jonathan Karl put White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest on the hot spot today about how President Obama could say the U.S. “underestimated” ISIS when several high-ranking officials warned of the threat months ago. And what Karl asked is whether this was underestimation on the part of the intel community or on the part of the president. Karl brought up congressional testimony last November from Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk. In his statements to the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee [PDF], McGurk spoke of multiple attacks ISIS had carried out last year, and explained how ISIS has been able to thrive: AQ/ISIL

Not true, reports Eli Lake in the Daily Beast. “One former senior Pentagon official who worked closely on the threat posed by Sunni jihadists in Syria and Iraq was
