Rebel Leader Justin Amash
Wins Big In Michigan

Breitbart Big Government, by Charlie Spiering

Rebellious Republican Rep. Justin Amash has won his re-election battle in Michigan’s 3rd district against his challenger Brian Ellis, a blow to the GOP Establishment which had put significant resources into the race. Ellis conceded the race as Amash had 55 percent of the vote and Ellis had 44 percent with 44 percent of the precincts reporting. Allies of Speaker John Boehner had rallied for pro-establishment candidate Republican Brian Ellis and to take out Amash, the first lawmaker to vote against Boehner for speaker on the House floor in January 2013. Ellis, a Grand Rapids businessman, loaned his campaign over $1 million and

I know nothing about Rep Amash beyond what is printed here. I post as another example of "establishment" taking on a sitting congressman not liked by House leadership.

Brian Ellis ran a very negative campaign against Amash. Liberals do not like Amash and they even admitted in an mlive article that they tried to get dems to vote for Ellis because they can´t work with Amash.

Ted Cruz endorsed Amash, and I think that really helped the campaign.

Congressman Amash is of Palestinian descent, the "son of a wealthy Palestinian tool importer who immigrated to the United States with the sponsorship of a Christian church", according to the Almanac of American Politics.

In 2012, the National Journal rated him 56 percent liberal, 45 percent conservative. His most liberal rating was in foreign policy, 59-40.

He was one of just 8 congressman, 4 from each party, to vote against funding the Israeli missile defense system, Iron Dome.

If you think that our principal enemies are the Republican establishment, you will probably like Amash; if you think the Hamas folks and other terrorists are worse, you may prefer other Republicans

I know a lot of people are giddy at the prospect of Republicans taking the Senate this November, but that’s becoming less and less likely. It’s not because Democrats are rallying around a particular mission or set of candidates; it’s because Republicans and conservatives aren’t. It seems like I’m always writing on issues no one wants to hear are mistakes, such as messaging or social issues. But I don’t care. These things have to be said. If these columns are received like a gaseous cousin on a long car trip through the desert, so be it. Crack a window… If things continue on their current course, the GOP will not retake the Senate.

After declaring war on the Tea Party and often showing nothing but contempt for grassroots conservatives that powered Republicans to record gains in the 2010 midterm elections, Karl Rove whined that the GOP may not take back the Senate this year because of the lack of enthusiasm for his establishment-approved candidates. Writing in the Wall Street Journal, Rove notes that even though Obama´s "job approval numbers are lousy, no Democrat in a competitive Senate race polls regularly above 50%, GOP enthusiasm is high, and independents are trending Republican... each passing day provides evidence as to why a GOP Senate majority is

How can Republicans recapture the U.S. Senate from Harry Reid and the Democrats? A new Politico poll points to a winning strategy — if GOP leaders have the courage to use the remaining seven weeks to nationalize the elections around one game-changing issue. Under the headline, “GOP has edge on immigration in midterms,” Politico offered a surprising review of battleground House and Senate races. The generally liberal publication found that two-thirds of likely voters disapprove of President Obama’s handling of the issue — and that even independent voters trust the GOP over the Democrats on the subject.

According to the New York Times, Obama senses the possibility of Syria firing on US planes as they conduct ISIS strikes in Syria. It is likely somebody will shoot at them, and it is likely that who did the shooting will be up for debate. “He made clear the intricacy of the situation, though, as he contemplated the possibility that Mr. Assad might order his forces to fire at American planes entering Syrian airspace. If he dared to do that, Mr. Obama said he would order American forces to wipe out Syria’s air defense system, which he noted would be easier

A GOP lobbyist who has been advising House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) is urging Republicans to pass comprehensive amnesty legislation "pronto" if they gain control of Congress after the midterms. Even though Republicans may take back the Senate by running against President Barack Obama´s executive amnesty, John Feehery argued that Republicans must not oppose Obama and ram through amnesty if they control Congress. "They should pass immigration reform, pronto," he wrote in Tuesday´s The Hill. Though former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) was ousted because of his support for amnesty, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has reportedly told Obama that there

A fact that every politician and news talking-head in the world seems to be certain of is that you can’t win a war by air power alone. Even the media-hired retired generals throw it out as an absolute truth of warfare, as if it had fallen from the lips of Sun Tzu himself. Ask anyone, civilian, military, whatever, and he will quickly inform you of the truth of that unassailable rule of modern warfare. But when has any nation ever in history attempted to prevail in war by the singular use of airpower? “It has never happened because it just won’t

On Sunday night, Nigel Farage, the Chairman of the United Kingdom Independent Party (UKIP), said that the next time Republicans prop up a “continuity, establishment candidate” for President of the United Sates, they are not going to win. Bannon, Farage said that unless you can “energize and engage, to use an old fashioned term, the blue collar voter, you are not going to beat the Democrats.”

It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.

Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

Three and a half months have come and gone and the Pentagon has offered no clarity on what happened to alleged Army deserter and Taliban collaborator Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Fellow soldiers and other critics fear the military’s now-delayed investigation is shaping up to be a whitewash. The case has become a political powder keg for President Obama. Since he traded five imprisoned Taliban leaders for Bergdahl, the US Government Accountability Office has declared the swap illegal, and nearly two dozen House Democrats have joined Republicans in officially condemning the move for making “Americans less safe.”
