Women ordered to stop praying

Fox News, by Todd Starnes

It’s not uncommon for shopping malls to have rules of conduct. Some places ban saggy pants. Others won’t let you ask people for money. But a mall in Georgia may have one of the most unusual rules -- they won’t let shoppers pray – not even over their meals. Meet Tammy Brantley of Dublin, Ga. She’s a wife, a mom and an avid power walker. She’s also a person of deep faith in God. Tammy is the co-founder of “Dublin Girls Run,” a group of local ladies that combines Southern fellowship with physical fitness. The Dublin Girls have developed quite

Bull pucky. It´s not private. It´s open to the public. They can´t stop prayer there for the same reason they can force a baker to cater a gay wedding.

I can definitely understand the mall not letting any type of material being handed out, pan-handling, or soap box preaching, singing anything that is in any form of solicitation.

But not being allow to say grace over food. Obviously was construed by someone is stupid, dumb and ignorant.

If Christian would boycott the store, bet the saying grace ban would be lifted in a NY second.

Could they ban someone from wearing a Muslim headscarf? Or a nun´s habit? Not under the public accommodation provisions of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, in my opinion. These ladies believed it appropriate to pray amongst themselves. They weren´t disturbing anyone. To single them out for this seems also to be discrimination under that Act. I think there is little doubt that preventing Christians from saying grace would be.

Just to be rebellious, I would go to the food court and pray silently in thanks for the food. If they said anything, I´d say I wasn´t praying...just bowing my head...what ya gonna do about it? I dare them to prove I was praying. Maybe I just have a headache. Silent prayer can NOT be stopped. They have no way prove what is on my mind. The thought police have no standing in such a case.

At any rate, are they serious about this crap? Holy moly...I do believe they could be persuaded to change their minds. I´m thinkin´ they´ll lose more money from people not going there than they will gain from people bein´ all happy nobody´s prayin´ at the mall. I´d be ashamed. And yes, I´d say the same thing if it were Muslims or satanists wanting to pray at the mall IF they weren´t bothering anybody doing so.

I can´t help it, I am just ornery enough to organize bunches of Christians to go in, order something in the Food Court and pray. Not silent stuff either. Just regular conversational tone polite prayer over food. This will keep security people so busy throwing people out, this will get SO MUCH attention. We must be bold. Remember the brave, polite young black kids that just went in and sat at that whites only lunch counter every day, every day... They were polite AND determined.

The way to stop this in its tracks is to go to a food court vendor, make a large order and when it is served , tell them that you changed your mind and aren´t really hungry after all. After a few hundred of these episodes, the merchants will ´convince´ the managers of the mall to change the policy.

I´ve seen this work against a silly policy of a supermarket where folks went in, filled a cart with groceries - wandered away from the cart and strolled leisurely out the door.
