Aspirin cancer prevention
benefits ´outweigh risks´

Taking a small daily dose of aspirin can significantly reduce the risk of developing -- or dying from -- bowel, stomach and oesophageal cancer, according to a large review of scientific studies. An international team of researchers analysed all available evidence from studies and clinical trials to assess benefits and harm of taking aspirin to prevent cancer. They found that taking aspirin for 10 years could cut bowel cancer cases by around 35 per cent and deaths from the disease by 40 per cent. Rates of oesophageal and stomach cancer were cut by 30 per cent and deaths from these cancers by 35

I found it strange this article has come out after the scare email that just circulated that said taking aspirin could cause you all kinds of problems.

My Doctor sez taking the baby aspirin (81 mg) daily won´t hurt my insides yet will help to prevent my having strokes or heart attack. I´ve been following his advice for 10 years now and have reached the age of 80 without any serious complications, nor any of those fancy diseases the scare mongers told me I should have died from 10 or 20 years ago. Think I´ll stick with my Doctor.

The scare article about aspirin was 100% baloney. The safety and efficacy of the humble aspirin has been proven time and again. The drug companies would love to talk patients out of the inexpensive aspirin and into one of their "new" experimental, expensive concoctions.

BUT......no one told you this.......IF you take aspirin every day.......it can and most likely will mess up your gut. NSAIDS can cause the gut to be all messed up...you can read about it yourself on the Internet. So, more of something that is good, is not necessarily good for you. Temperance in everything the Word of God said and that is wisdom.

BEIJING: China’s industrial production growth slowed sharply to its lowest level for more than five years at 6.9% in August, intensifying concerns for the world’s second-largest economy. The key indicator measuring output at factories, workshops and mines, slumped from a 9% year-on-year expansion in July and was the worst since 5.7% in December 2008, during the global financial crisis. Retail sales, an indicator of consumer spending, rose 11.9% in the same month year-on-year, also down from 12.2% in July. Fixed asset investment, a measure of government spending on infrastructure, expanded 16.5% on-year in the first eight months of 2014. It was below the 17%

Representative Mark Sanford of South Carolina surprised the political world on Friday with his announcement that he was ending his engagement to the woman with whom he had an extramarital affair, the revelation of which stunted his rising-star career five years ago. But in interviews last spring, Mr. Sanford and his fiancée, Maria Belen Chapur, indicated that a relationship born in a stew of infidelity, 21st century politics and Twitter-enhanced cable-news sensationalism had, perhaps inevitably, sustained damage. Over the intervening months the relationship collapsed as the two argued over a wedding date, Ms. Chapur said in an interview on Saturday. Ms. Chapur

SAN DIEGO — African-American elementary students in California were chronically truant at nearly four times the rate of all students during the last school year, according to a state report released Friday. The report by the California Attorney General´s office is the first time the data has been broken down according to race and income levels. Officials say such data is needed to address the problem. Poverty and suspensions are contributing factors. Overall, more than 250,000 elementary school students missed 10 percent or more of the 2013-2014 school year or roughly 18 or more school days. The judge ruled this had not been proved, as there was only circumstantial evidence of an argument - uncorroborated witnesses´ statements. And he refuses to authorize the requisite boots on the ground. However, Obama just discovered his pre-midterm election method of wagging the dog -- distracting from his incompetent and dangerous response (or lack thereof) to the real threats to America’s national security
