The U.S. government believes that someone other than former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden has recently leaked secret national security documents to the media, an official confirmed Tuesday. The documents, published by The Intercept on Tuesday, detail the growth of federal terror watchlists. They were drafted after Snowden fled prosecution in United States for Russia, when he no longer had access to classified intelligence networks. Trump sues to get name off casinos

Atlantic City, NJ - Donald Trump has a message for the two Atlantic City casinos that still bear his name, five years after he gave up anything to do with running them: You’re fired. The real estate mogul and reality TV star, who presided over a casino empire in the glory days of Atlantic City, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday demanding that his name be stripped from the remaining two. He told The Associated Press he sued Trump Entertainment Resorts, a descendant of a corporate entity he once controlled, because it has allowed its two Atlantic City casinos, the Trump Plaza and the Trump Taj Mahal, to fall into disrepair, tarnishing his

Rep. Michele Bachmann has suggested the federal government levy a 100 percent tax on money illegal immigrants send back to their home countries as a way of remedying the border crisis. In addition to building a secure, well-lit, fully staffed border fence, the Minnesota Republican said there should be “a 100 percent tax on remittances, the money that illegal aliens send back to these countries.” “Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, those countries are laughing at us because they’re making money with their corrupt governments in conjunction with these international criminal cartels, they’re all making money and

Obama credited with ‘remarkable’

President Obama apparently has dug himself so deep into the black hole called White House public relations that the media world sat up in shock when he told reporters at a press conference: “I’ll take a question,” he said. In fact, he took not just one but two questions from reporters during press conferences last week, Politico reported. The White House is being seen as shifting strategy on its communications, hoping to draw Mr. Obama back to where he’s perceived to shine best — speaking to and in front of the public, Politico reported. The idea is to reverse the president’s poll numbers, which have been faltering in recent months,

ISIL takes control of Iraq’s

Sunni radicals with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claim to have taken control of Iraq’s largest hydroelectric dam. The Mosul Dam, which sits on the Tigris River, could cause damage as far as 280 miles away if ISIL decides to use it as a weapon, experts say. “It’s a horrendous prospect,” Daniel Pipes, the president of the Middle East Forum, told CNN. “If you control the Mosul Dam, you can threaten just about everybody.” Another fear is that the dam could break simply due to ISIL’s ignorance of the structure. Business Insider reported Tuesday that the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers believes the dam is “inherently unstable,”

Outrage in Saudi Arabia at
appearance of female newsreader
without headscarf on state television

The unprecedented appearance of a female newsreader on Saudi state television without a headscarf has caused a scandal in the deeply conservative Islamic state. The unnamed anchor, who has previously worn a hijab in clips circulated online, was reading a bulletin from London for the Al Ekhbariya channel. Strict Islamic dress codes in Saudi Arabia require women to dress “modestly” – usually with headscarves, veils and full-length abayas. While women do sometimes appear without head coverings in programmes broadcast by state-controlled channels, newsreaders are never seen without the hijab.

Border crisis: HHS to close three

The federal government will close three interim shelters set up on US military bases to house migrant children apprehended while crossing the border, according to media reports. Beginning this week, the US Department of Health and Human Services will shutter emergency shelters in California, Texas, and Oklahoma, The New York Times and Los Angeles Times reported Monday. “We are able to take this step because we have proactively expanded capacity to care for children in standard shelters, which are significantly less costly facilities. At the same time, we have seen a decrease in the number of children crossing the southwest

Ben Shapiro Blasts CNN

Appearing on CNN Tonight Monday evening, Breitbart News senior editor-at-large Ben Shapiro blasted the left-wing network for its anti-Israel coverage over the past three-plus weeks of Israel´s war of self defense against Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Just as National Review´s Lee Habeeb did Monday morning, Shapiro again proved that CNN has no answer for its indefensible behavior … other than straw men. Ben Shapiro: "If Hamas could come up with any sort of outlet that could have created a will to kill more Jewish babies and Palestinian babies, CNN would have been it. British Airways announced Tuesday that it has temporarily suspended flights to and from Liberia and Sierra Leone, two of the West African nations afflicted with the Ebola outbreak. The suspension will remain in place until the end of August, “due to the deteriorating public health situation in both countries,” the airline said in a statement. “The safety of our customers, crew and ground teams is always our top priority and we will keep the route under constant review in the coming weeks.” The airline is offering customers who already have tickets along those routes a full refund and the ability to re-book flights at a later date.

Boston - Cybersecurity researcher Ruben Santamarta says he has figured out how to hack the satellite communications equipment on passenger jets through their WiFi and inflight entertainment systems - a claim that, if confirmed, could prompt a review of aircraft security. (Snip) In theory, a hacker could use a plane´s onboard WiFi signal or inflight entertainment system to hack into its avionics equipment, potentially disrupting or modifying satellite communications, which could interfere with the aircraft´s navigation and safety systems, Santamarta said. He acknowledged that his hacks have only been tested in controlled environments, such as IOActive´s Madrid laboratory, and they might be difficult to replicate in

The officials say the Egyptians have made it clear that Israel has agreed to the offer in principal. They note that the agreement began as a request for a 24-hour truce to allow the head of the Red Cross to visit the Strip, and was then expanded to 72 hours, with the option of a further extension.

That seems like an awfully strong word, but it is the term that distinguished law professor Glenn Reynolds, no hysteric, uses to describe the Obama administration’s oft-reported plan to issue executive amnesty to five or six million illegal immigrants in violation of federal law. Glenn’s characterization is a fair one. When a tyrant asserts the right to rule by decree in a state that has formerly been subject to the rule of law, he is commonly described as carrying out a coup d’etat. That is just what the Obama administration has done, and reportedly will continue to do. When Obama changed

ATLANTA — In the early 2000s, a young researcher at the Centers for Disease Control named Greg Millett set out to solve an epidemiological mystery. Nobody could explain why black Americans, particularly black gay men, had such high rates of HIV infection compared to the rest of the population. How were they putting themselves in so much danger? What were they doing differently from everyone else? Millett began with a survey of the published research, but that only seemed to raise more questions. Study after study seemed to arrive at the same conclusion: Black gay men take fewer risks in the

The obsession by the Obama-Kerry administration with imposing a cease-fire on the warring parties in the Hamas-Israel war will go down in history as one of the most strategic mistakes in military history. Here is a fact the administration deliberately and maliciously ignored: In the history of modern warfare, no terrorist group has ever honored a cease-fire. Hamas has broken every cease-fire it ever said it would honor. Every single one. Even the Israel-Hamas 2012 cease fire, brokered by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was simply agreed to by Hamas to give it an opportunity to restock its military arsenal, pressure Israel

President Obama returned from his full-time job as the Democratic Party’s fundraiser-in-chief to host today’s U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit. As he winged his way back to Washington from Kansas City aboard Air Force One, the president sat for an interview with editors of The Economist. The interview was pure Barack Obama, and it revealed him for what he is — an intellectually agile partisan fantasist. According to Mr. Obama, there really haven’t been that many problems, but those we may be experiencing are the fault not of his policies or leadership, but of the fact that he continues to have to contend

Obamacare plans have shrunk payments to physicians so much that some doctors say they won’t be able to afford to accept Obamacare coverage, NPR reports. Many of the eight million sign-ups in Obamacare exchanges nationwide already face more limited choices for physicians and hospitals than those in the private insurance market. But with low physician reimbursement rates, the problem could get even worse. For a typical quick patient visit, Dr. Doug Gerard, a Connecticut internist, told NPR a private insurer would pay $100 while Medicare would pay around $80. But Obamacare plans are more likely to pay closer to $80, which Gerard

Six weeks after the primary runoff election, Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel is launching his formal legal challenge of the election results, saying the evidence is so conclusive that he will be calling for courts to recognize him as the true victor of the race rather than calling for a new election. “Chris McDaniel clearly, clearly won the Republican vote in the runoff,” McDaniel attorney Mitch Tyner said at a Monday press conference. “I say that very assuredly because that’s what the mathematics show. It’s not what I’m arguing. After the election, we did some post-election polling.
