The nation’s law enforcement agencies, from local cops all the way to the Department of Homeland Security, are always on the lookout for terrorist threats, and that includes at home as well as in far flung deserts and mountains. And they’re collecting data on all sorts of groups. What may come as a surprise is that, if you’re a regular reader of Hot Air or many other similar outlets, you might be one of the people they are watching! A new report this summer from a group of university analysts has identified the chief concerns of law enforcement agents at

The greatest threat to this country is the socialist in the White House who does not defend her.

Actual threats like the president´s friends Bill Ayers are not listed.

Tens of millions of Muslims are planning to kill Americans wherever they can find them. But to leftards, it is politically incorrect to mention it.

This is just a report made up by a bunch of academics and submitted to the DHS for their consideration.
We all know about academics and how useless they are. Hopefully DHS does too.

This administration is polluted with academics. Other than a misguided idealogoly, the greatest failure of this administration is it´s complete lack of military, executive or business experience. The administration is run by nothing but academics testing out their theories.

Is there no one in this country who cannot be bought with money from the Left?

This dates back to April 2009 and my first involvement with the TEA party. Big Sis sent around a report to the police departments nationwide warning them to look out for citizens with strong moral convictions on issues such as abortion, individual liberty, right to bear arms, etc. She then went on to warn that the retired military might be particularly dangerous because of their arms training. She never backed down. While she was watching these likely terrorists, a young man from Nigeria paid cash for a one-way ticket to Chicago on Christmas Day with no checked luggage and no jacket. His name was on the no-fly list, but wasn´t found because of a spelling difference. But hey, no one was hurt because he had worn the exploding underwear for 2 weeks.

U.S. military engagement on Islamic State may alter the political calculus for this year’s midterms, but the potential impacts may reach beyond the next few months and into 2016, thanks to a shift among tea party supporters. In September 2013, 64% of tea party supporters said they believed taking military action against “the Syrian government” was not in the national interest. In this latest survey, 68% of tea party supporters said they believe talking military action against “ISIS in Iraq and Syria” is in the national interest. That shift is much bigger than the change among the county as a whole. In 2013, 47% of Americans said they

Why the Confederacy Lost
National Review Online, by Mackubin Thomas Owens    Original Article

There is an old story, probably apocryphal, about a meeting of the Southern Historical Society in the years after the Civil War. The topic was Gettysburg — what mistakes, large or small, did the Confederates make that led to the Southern defeat? The debate was heated and furious. Tempers were at the boiling point. Finally, one of the participants turned to George Pickett of “Pickett’s Charge” fame. “George,” he said, “you were there. Why did we lose the battle?” to which Pickett replied, “I always thought the Yankees had something to do with it.” This anecdote reflects a historiographical debate about the Civil War in general.

Senate Democrats who are anxious about their re-election prospects in November are puzzled that Sen. Thomas R. His Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold a hearing Monday on his bill to add two members to the Senate and a voting member of to the House. On just about every level, the episode is sad, especially if it’s used to sharpen divisions among people who have much to gain from coming together. In fact, the whole aim of In Defense of Christians — host of the conference where Cruz spoke — is to unite the disparate Mideast religious communities in solidarity with the Christian victims of Islamist extremism. That’s no easy task. Cruz was asked to

At a Labor Day rally in Milwaukee, President Obama turned the limelight on himself, approvingly and inaccurately. “By almost every measure,” he declared, “the American economy and the American workers are better off than when I took office.” In contrast to Mr. Obama’s self-congratulatory assertion, the Census Bureau reports that median household income in the United States, adjusted for inflation, is down by more than $2,000 since Obama’s first inauguration in January 2009. Additionally, as an indicator of the economic downturn, a sixth of the U.S. population is currently receiving food stamps, an increase in the

Austin - A dispute over Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis´ book tour intensified Thursday as her Republican opponent, Greg Abbott, accused her in a formal complaint of violating state election laws. In a filing with the Texas Ethics Commission, Abbott campaign manager Wayne Hamilton alleges that Davis, a state senator from Fort Worth, "converted political contributions to her personal use" in violation of state law. The state ethics commission investigates alleged ethics violations by officeholders and candidates, and can levy fines or refer charges against violators if complaints are validated.

Supporters of President Barack Obama, such as one of his campaign donors Robert Deitrick, an Ohio financial advisor often quoted in Forbes and elsewhere, insist that the Obama economy has been much more robust than Ronald Reagan’s. Are they right? Let’s look at some numbers. President Reagan entered office in a period of high inflation which was stamped out by high interest rates that in turn led to the 1982 recession. His job-creation record after that may fairly be termed outstanding: nearly 20 million more Americans were employed when he left office than when the recession ended. Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

Throughout his presidency, President Obama has emphasized one point while talking about Islamist extremists: They are not practicing Islam, he has said, they are perverting it. He took that a step further Wednesday night. While announcing that he´s expanding the campaign against the Islamic State extremist group into Syria, Obama said flatly that this group, which is trying to install a caliphate in the Middle East, "is not Islamic." He didn´t say they are perverting their religion; he said they´re not even part of that religion. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
