Gay Leaders Upset by Low
CDC Population Numbers:
´Political Influence Matters´

Breitbart Big Government, by Austin Ruse

Original Article

Gay leaders are expressing alarm at the just-released numbers from the Center for Disease Control that place the percentage of Americans identifying as homosexual at only 1.6% of the adult population. That would mean the total number of gays in American is roughly 3.8 million, roughly 1.5 million less than the total number of American Methodists. Scout, who goes by one name, a spokesman for CenterLink´s Network of LGBT Health Equity, told the Washington Post, "The truth is, numbers matter, and political influence matters." Most Americans believe the population of gays is exponentially larger. For almost half a century,

Comments:
About 2% was the number I had heard years ago. It seems like more because a minority of the 1.6% are really annoying.

I´ve always heard the number of gays was about 2% of the population. Based on TV, you´d think it was about 80% or more.

Perhaps they could just pick a number that will make them feel better. Something high enough to justify the political influence they already do wield. All said tho, this country has truly bent over backwards trying to accommodate this segment - this tiny segment, of our population. And they remain as unhappy and unfulfilled as if nothing has been done for them.

Small pressure groups like CAIR and the Homosexual lobby make every effort to claim that they number/represent far more individuals than they do, so as to magnify their political power.

In the case of Homosexuals in particular, though small in number they strongly influence/control/occupy the key posts in the Entertainment, Education, and Communications sectors, among others, enabling them to inject their phony, highly inflated percentages into movies, plays, TV, newspapers, magazines, and books, school texts, and lectures until they become "common knowledge."

By the way, read James H. Jones’ heavily researched and footnoted “Alfred C. Kinsey : A Life” to learn about the upbringing, life, habits, “academic credentials,” and supposed “scientific” research methods of Dr. (of Entomology) Alfred Kinsey, who came up with the widely used 10% figure.

I expect the Homosexual community/lobby to try to force the CDC to recant.

The real life "gay community" in my experience is a very closely guarded group where insiders are considered family and outsiders are rarely welcomed. They have all been mistreated at one time or another so they tend to keep the wagons circled all the time.
If 100% of your close friends are gay, I suppose it would be natural to subconsciously assume a much higher percentage than is realistic.

#3, they compose 2% of the population, but Johns Hopkins University conducted a study a few years ago on pedophilia. They determined that 20-40% of all child molestations were homosexual in nature.

The 10-2 proportionality does not bode well for the homosexual community. We banned public smoking for less risk than that.

I do not care what they do in private with other adults. However, I am completely opposed to having them in a position of trust with minors.

After all, which group do we constantly read about Hollywood actors and directors preying upon for ´fresh meat´? Heterosexual molestations are still an issue as well, but the risk is much higher amongst the homosexual community

From CDC to Scandinavian studies there is ample quantified analysis and evidence out there that 1.4% of sexually active human males are homosexual - anywhere in the world. Yes, use that accurate scientific expression as the first step back to honesty on this issue. Lib politicians are running around throwing about numbers like 10%. This is sheer politically motivated fraud. Young males should be given an accurate scientifically based picture of the kind of society they will be facing when they go out in the world.

Several years ago there was a massive poll (over 200,000 people) that showed homosexuals to be 1.7% of our population. This CDC poll agrees with that poll.

Per normal liberal/progressive habits, we should keep taking polls until they get the number the homos want.

It´s not about numbers unless those numbers are on currency. Gay people are a small percentage of the population, but they have a substantial participation rate in the entertainment/media industry -- many making huge sums of money. So they have an extraordinary amount of power.

I know the Dems like to say they hate that money and power is all concentrated in the 1% (the ever expanding 1%, it seems) but this is the kind of power of which they approve.

Well, it was the gay community - for reasons of political influence - that initially wanted the CDC to include sexual identity in the figures it collects. Now, its yearning for political influence has come back to bite it as it´s obvious that very few people wish to identify as homosexual.

My view is that there is a considerable amount of casual homosexual behavior amongst men but very little desire to identify formally as "a homosexual". It´s not exactly something you wish to write in your CV unless you are an activist craving political influence.

On Thursday In a session with the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Secretary of State John Kerry was asked by Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) whether America was at war in Iraq and Syria. (Video) Kerry responded: “If you’re more comfortable calling it a war against this enemy of Islam then please do so. We’re happy to call it that.” So its official: America is at war with the enemy of Islam. However, strange bedfellows arise if the Obama administration so chooses to uphold Kerry’s claim that we are at war with the enemy(s) of Islam. The following displays that Secretary

The U.S. military campaign against Islamist militants in Syria is being designed to allow President Barack Obama to exert a high degree of personal control, going so far as to require that the military obtain presidential signoff for strikes in Syrian territory, officials said. The requirements for strikes in Syria against the extremist group Islamic State will be far more stringent than those targeting

What was the Islamic State thinking? We know it is sophisticated in its use of modern media. But what was the logic of propagating to the world videos of its beheadings of two Americans (and subsequently a Briton) — sure to inflame public opinion? There are two possible explanations. One is that these terrorists are more depraved and less savvy than we think. They so glory in blood that they could not resist making an international spectacle of their savagery — after all, they proudly broadcast their massacre of Shiite prisoners — and did not quite fathom how such a
