Our border invasion has
solution – in Constitution

Gov. Rick Perry of Texas recently ordered 1,000 Texas National Guard troops to the state’s border with Mexico to assist the Border Patrol in responding to the growing crisis of illegal entry.[SNIP]The only problem is that Perry’s deployment order is symbolic, not serious, and it won’t do any good until it becomes serious. It is unlikely that Perry is any more likely than any other politician to put his own personal interest second, and the needs of the nation first, but the fact of the matter is we don’t need 1,000 troops on the border, we need 10,000, maybe more.

He´s right. Logistics-wise, I worked out one version that called for about 20k+ men on the southern US border to seal it tight. All depends on rotation frequency and equipment/weapons employed (plus ROE) as to exactly how many you need. If you´re going to physically chase them down and arrest them and give them ´three hots and a cot´ and pat them on the head you´re going to need a LOT more personnel to catch them all.

If you have 300,000 foreign citizens crossing your border in a year...you are being invaded...if that body of people consist of Hondurans/Guatemalans/Chinese/Arabs/Indians/etc, all of which believe they can come with impunity because of your lack of spine to protect yourself- you are not only being invaded you are an idiot who is self-destructing your own country

In 2007, the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the Nobel Peace Prize jointly to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and to Al Gore “for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.” Following the award, the IPCC leadership sent personalized certificates “for contributing to the award”[SNIP]Yet at least 12 recipients claimed their certificates were Nobel Peace Prizes (see fakenobellaureates.com), including Steve Running of the University of Montana and

You may remember Andrew Breitbart. You should. Before his sudden and rather mysterious death at the age of 43 on March 1, 2012, he was a fearless voice of untrammeled American conservatism.[SNIP]Cruz is no stranger to ridicule. As a true conservative in a party of the faux variety, he is not only lambasted by the media elite like Jon Stewart but also by the Republican Party’s sad equivalent of a brain trust — Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell and John McCain. This past week, Sen. Cruz, the junior senator from Texas, showed why he is a worthy heir to Breitbart’s mantle of fearlessness

Are you tired of being lied to yet? My guess is no... because Americans seem to have developed an infinite capacity for patience with a federal government that is increasingly mettlesome, mendacious and menacing.[SNIP] This last Friday night, an interview was aired which should convince American citizens once and for all that their government is not telling the truth about what happened in Libya two years ago. That’s been obvious to many of us for months, but despite the naming of a select committee by the U.S. House of Representatives to investigate what could have happened, what should have happened,

The murder of American photojournalist James Foley by hooded thugs in the Islamic State ought to unite our country in a passion for justice, but it won’t. Our country no longer strives for justice. Otherwise the death of James Foley would never have happened. The terrorists who now control nearly half of Iraq and a good portion of Syria would have been exterminated long ago like the pestilent plague they are. It’s not just our failure to wage war against evil overseas either that reveals our decline as a great nation. You only have to look to the disaster in Ferguson, Missouri,

Conservative readers question me on a regular basis about why the Daily Inter Lake publishes the somewhat confrontational column by liberal Gene Lyons every week. The straightforward answer is because liberals exist and therefore they need a column to read. Far be it from me to shut down the free exchange of ideas.(SNIP)What brings me out of the closet as a Lyons reader, however, is last Thursday’s column in which he bravely but foolishly defended the bedraggled climate scientist Michael Mann from the ripostes of Mark Steyn, perhaps the most capably armed social critic since Edmund Wilson.According to Lyons, Steyn

The absurd attacks on Israel for exercising its right of self-defense in the past few weeks have only been surpassed in foolhardy dangerousness by the world’s virtual silence about the genocide being practiced against Christians and other minority religions in the Islamic State formerly known as northwestern Iraq. No matter how you try to wrap your head around the hypocrisy of people calling out Israel for supposed war crimes while at the same time closing their eyes to the uncomfortable truth of the barbaric genocide being waged by Islamic fundamentalists, you cannot do so. Hypocrisy of this dimension is almost demonic.

Let’s put it in context: If John Walsh had plagiarized while working in the newsroom at the Daily Inter Lake, he would have been sent packing. That’s because credibility is the gold standard for a newspaper or any other news gathering organization. Plagiarism — taking credit for someone else’s words — is at its root another form of lying, and a newspaper has no credibility if it tolerates lying. Whether the same standard applies in the Senate is up for debate. A story in the New York Times last week demonstrated conclusively that Sen. Walsh had plagiarized large portions of his 2007 master’s thesis at the Army War College in

Palin is the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate who has become a Tea Party maverick, and Boehner is the Republican speaker of the House who is a GOP establishment dinosaur. Last week the battle lines were clearly drawn between these two camps of the Republican Party. My last article for American Thinker was too long. And too short. Too long because the gurus tell us articles should be about 600 words. My story about the president talking to the black caucus about white people inflicting constant racial injustice on black people came in at 1500 words. I was just getting warmed up. I thought it strange that at the same time the president was trying to persuade us that black people are relentless victims, black people were committing acts of racial violence in places like Seattle, Miami, Indianapolis, Bronx, Ferguson, Kansas City, Providence, Minneapolis and 18 miles from where

The quintessential question of Watergate was “what did the President know and when did he know it?” Obamagate, the vast scandal that encompasses an entire presidency, offers a preemptive answer. Obama didn’t know anything and he never knew it. At least not until, like smuggling weapons to druglords, bugging journalists, IRSing his political enemies and killing vets, his right hand found out about what his left hand was doing from the morning paper. After skipping 58% of his daily intelligence briefings in Term 1 and 59% of them in Term 2, he went on 60 Minutes and blamed intelligence agencies for being

Count House Speaker John Boehner as a fan of Jeb Bush for president. He also hasn´t spoken to Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz in two years. The driving issue of the 2016 election will be “competence,” and if former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush runs, “he’s got a real shot” at winning, the Ohio Republican told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Tuesday. Boehner applauded Bush’s ability to “talk about Republican issues better than most anybody that we’ve got out there,” approving of his “real record of reform” as Florida’s governor from 1999 to 2007. He also called potential candidates Ohio Gov. John

A recent fight between Rosie O´Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg has producers at The View looking to add a cool-down room for the ladies. After being cut off by Goldberg during an episode last week so the show could go to commercial, O´Donnell began to express how upset she was and, after being told repeatedly by Goldberg it was not the right time to have that discussion, eventually got cursed out by the Oscar winner. Goldberg told O´Donnell, ´F*** it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don´t want to listen. If you want to go there Rosie,

A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. But recently, speculation is whirling that Romney may not be so adamant anymore. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story. We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.” That response, which

President Obama was at Northwestern University on Thursday to deliver an economic speech that, he and his team hoped, would lay out the case for why the public is better off today than they were six years ago -- even if they didn´t feel it in their everday lives. Instead, Obama just gave every Republican ad-maker in the country more fodder for negative ads linking Democratic candidates to him. Here are the four sentences that will draw all of the attention (they come more than two thirds of the way through the speech): "I am not on the ballot this
