Islamic extremists impose
reign of terror in Iraq

BAGHDAD — Police cars have been repainted to say "Islamic police." Women are forbidden from wearing bright colors and prints. The homes of Shiites and others have signs stating they are property of the Islamic State. And everyone walks in fear amid a new reign of terror. That´s what life is like in Mosul, Tikrit and other cities in northern and western Iraq under the control of Islamic extremists after their lightning-fast military campaign that overwhelmed the Iraqi army in June. The new normal for these residents means daily decrees about attire and raids to root out religious minorities in

Drug gangs from Mexico to South America, and Muslim gangs in the Middle East. One thing they have in common is unopposed violence. Ordinary citizens lack the right to bear arms. Only the bad guys have guns.

Islam is an evil force and if not defeated will bring about a new kind of dark age on mankind.Western civilization should unite and form a modern day Crusade. Not necessarily a religious one but just to defeat Islam wherever it threatens modern society.

Unfortunately for a lot of ordinary folks living in Iraq the Americans gave that region a shot and they failed to take it, now the Americans are just happy to allow Allah to sort out what is going on over there as Obama is showing by going golfing as the radical Muslims overrun Iraq.

That they are killing and torturing each other, not my problem. That they step outside their borders toward us with their evil is where my concern kicks in. That there is little doubt we will have a confrontation with them. Look at Palestine and Israel ... and the rest of the muslimes -70 years and they still don´t get it. These are people who cannot learn; and their mission is world domination. So the notice is loud and clear. My concern is that our country is energy secure and financially and militarily strong in order to deal with the problem when it comes our way. I regret losing a strategically useful base but that is not the war only a battle. In the meantime we need to stop the infiltration of our borders by these idiots and stop weakening ourselves by devoting far too much of our resources to non-citizens.

If Obama had been a patriot [yes, I know...] and competent and had insisted on a small American military force remaining in Iraq, just as was done in S Korea and Germany, the Iraqi military would have had a spine and would have been victorious against the forces of evil. And, assuming a patriotic and competent President [yes, I know...] who would have put a stop to Iranian meddling in Iraq the country would be a functional example in a highly dysfunctional part of the world, attracting positive change to the entire region. A shining city on the hill.

Instead we have continued failure, a breeding ground for UN incompetence and the usual muzzcraziness. I trust Obama will be suitably rewarded by the UN for this treachery.

After the administration released details of the July mission to rescue journalist James Foley and others in Syria, intelligence suggests ISIS dispersed the remaining hostages to multiple locations, making them harder to locate, a military source told Fox News. In addition, the source added guard forces around the hostages doubled while widely publicized reporting about the scope of new aerial surveillance in the region caused ISIS to change its pattern of behavior on the ground. "Any time you (disclose) very highly sensitive tactical information, you´re giving away your road map if you will, your strategy," said Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas,

Free money for everyone! With weak job growth, rising poverty, and the rich continuing to devour nearly all economic growth, it´s an idea that is gaining more credence. Arguments for a universal basic income (UBI) — in which everyone without exception would receive an equal stipend — have flourished in policy-centric areas of the internet, including The Week. Advocates of UBI see it as a blunter, more effective means of reducing poverty and shrinking the inequality gap. But even if UBI proponents are right on the merits, Tyler Cowen argues that the politics of the issue are not favorable. Under

Washington — President Obama’s speech Wednesday on the growing threat from Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria represents a major test of his leadership. It’s being billed as an address to the nation, but it will reach far beyond that. Mr. Obama will be speaking foremost to the American people –Democrats, Republicans, and independents – in the heat of the midterm campaign. Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Check your hygiene privilege. Cabbies who smell badly are probably just oppressed folks who came directly from their terrorist training camp to the airport and didn’t have time to change. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
