Eric Cantor eyes $1 million

Breitbart Big Government, by Wynton Hall

Former Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) is considering hedge fund, private equity, and big bank job offers that could bag him over $1 million a year, reports Politico."There are two famous streets in America that would be glad to employ him. Either Wall Street or K Street would pay him a pretty good chunk of change," said Ivan Adler of McCormick Group.Lobbyists who have spoken to Cantor reportedly say he will not be staying in Washington. Cantor, who was defeated in historic fashion by Tea Party candidate Dave Brat in the GOP primary, is married to Diana Cantor. Politico notes

Comments:
His wife serves on the boards of five corporations. This is obscene. It´s all ruling class people in DC. I think of how Haley Barbour and Mitch McConnell (& others) paid democrat voters in Mississippi to vote for Thad Cochran. Just because they have an R after their name, doesn´t mean they are on our side. The R stands for Ruler.

Thank you Dave Brat for exposing this corporate rep for the fraudulent conservative he is.
Basically, he was there as his wife´s corporate representative.
No wonder he wouldn´t defend our borders.
1 million seems cheap - but then he no longer has his "Leadership" position.

Have Cantor or his wife broken any laws? Is he ethically challenged? Is his wife? Exactly why the Cantor-bashing? Because he´s very wealthy and will become more so?

It is ironic that some who are bashing him are conservatives. It is usually liberals who are envious of the 1%.

He was defeated because he wasn´t conservative enough for voters. To my knowledge, he has done nothing wrong except not be conservative enough. That isn´t a crime. Neither is legitimately making a boatload of money. At least for now, it´s not a crime.

#4, you´re right. No crimes were committed that we can see. But the fact that members of the political class have so much influence, even after they´ve been decisively voted out of office, is cause for concern. Eric Cantor has been effectively censored by the electorate but will continue, through personal and political associations, to have disproportional influence over the rest of the country in ways we don´t want. And he will get rich doing so. The framers expected men in his position to go home and resume the life they´d had before, not become self-serving barnacles on the body politic. What he´s doing is un-American.

As I was saying....

#4: Cantor is slimy. Why bother to defend him? How does being a hedge fund manager or K street lobbyist relate to American capitalism, which we can all embrace? Define the goods he will produce or the worthwhile services he will provide!

The American public is sick of hearing about these politician success stories...while we are being gouged for a loaf of bread!

Remember those early mornings back in high school, waiting in the limo line, craving an organic vanilla apricot soy latte from your favorite artisanal coffeesmith, and thinking about how great it was to be a member of America’s upper crust? Those were the days. Sidwell Friends, the elite D.C. private school where the Obamas send their kids, is hiring a barista to “prepare smoothies and espresso drinks” for children who are too rich to fail. The position, which pays $125,000 a year*, could be a great opportunity for a young person suffering under the failed Obama economy. Realistically, it will probably

Mundelein Seminary, Ill. — It’s 7:15 on Tuesday morning and, as on most mornings, Father Robert Barron, rector of the seminary here, unassumingly takes an open seat among the seminarians and faculty of Mundelein, and some of the staff and students of the University of St. Mary of the Lake. The GOP’s favorite punching bag in President Barack Obama’s Cabinet is calling it quits. After six years of hostile exchanges at congressional hearings, scores of lawmakers calling for his resignation and a historic House vote holding him in contempt, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Thursday that he plans to leave by the end of the year. Republicans didn’t even wait until the official announcement to pillory Holder and celebrate his exit — Rep. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina expressing “good riddance” and Sen. Initial reports from some precincts showed a turnout of anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434

A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story.
