Eric Cantor eyes $1 million
salary on Wall Street

Breitbart Big Government, by Wynton Hall

Original Article

Former Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) is considering hedge fund, private equity, and big bank job offers that could bag him over $1 million a year, reports Politico."There are two famous streets in America that would be glad to employ him. Either Wall Street or K Street would pay him a pretty good chunk of change," said Ivan Adler of McCormick Group.Lobbyists who have spoken to Cantor reportedly say he will not be staying in Washington. Cantor, who was defeated in historic fashion by Tea Party candidate Dave Brat in the GOP primary, is married to Diana Cantor. Politico notes

Comments:
His wife serves on the boards of five corporations. This is obscene. It´s all ruling class people in DC. I think of how Haley Barbour and Mitch McConnell (& others) paid democrat voters in Mississippi to vote for Thad Cochran. Just because they have an R after their name, doesn´t mean they are on our side. The R stands for Ruler.

Thank you Dave Brat for exposing this corporate rep for the fraudulent conservative he is.
Basically, he was there as his wife´s corporate representative.
No wonder he wouldn´t defend our borders.
1 million seems cheap - but then he no longer has his "Leadership" position.

Have Cantor or his wife broken any laws? Is he ethically challenged? Is his wife? Exactly why the Cantor-bashing? Because he´s very wealthy and will become more so?

It is ironic that some who are bashing him are conservatives. It is usually liberals who are envious of the 1%.

He was defeated because he wasn´t conservative enough for voters. To my knowledge, he has done nothing wrong except not be conservative enough. That isn´t a crime. Neither is legitimately making a boatload of money. At least for now, it´s not a crime.

#4, you´re right. No crimes were committed that we can see. But the fact that members of the political class have so much influence, even after they´ve been decisively voted out of office, is cause for concern. Eric Cantor has been effectively censored by the electorate but will continue, through personal and political associations, to have disproportional influence over the rest of the country in ways we don´t want. And he will get rich doing so. The framers expected men in his position to go home and resume the life they´d had before, not become self-serving barnacles on the body politic. What he´s doing is un-American.

As I was saying....

#4: Cantor is slimy. Why bother to defend him? How does being a hedge fund manager or K street lobbyist relate to American capitalism, which we can all embrace? Define the goods he will produce or the worthwhile services he will provide!

The American public is sick of hearing about these politician success stories...while we are being gouged for a loaf of bread!

Arizona´s entire congressional delegation sent a letter Thursday to Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald urging him to name a permanent leader of the Phoenix VA medical center to replace Director Sharon Helman even though she remains on the agency´s payroll. The letter, unusual in its bipartisan consensus, notes that two temporary bosses have overseen the beleaguered Phoenix VA Health Care System since Helman was placed on leave May 1 amid allegations of fraud and mismanagement. A third fill-in is expected in November."Surely, we can agree that the circumstances surrounding the recent issues at VA facilities around the country are anything

U.S. Customs and Border Protection wasted millions of dollars, violated federal laws and ignored its own rules in spending nearly $17 million to build housing in Ajo for its employees, according to an audit by the Department of Homeland Security´s Office of Inspector General. In a small former mining town where the average house costs $86,500, The CBP spent nearly seven times that — $680,000 per house — to build 21 two- and three-bedroom houses in 2012. The CBP also spent about $2.4 million to buy 20 mobile homes that have mostly stood empty, a report by the inspector general found. The

When Texas Gov. Perry was under attack from the left wing, and his response was not to apologize but to walk through a hail of blue-hued bullets and emerge laughing, without a mark on him. But some conservative true believers have begun to notice something rather suspicious: The company Perry keeps seems more suited to a mainstream

I’m not talking about when she told kids, “Just say no to drugs.” Simplistic as that advice was, it could have saved a lot of people a lot of pain — just like Michelle Obama’s efforts to get kids to eat healthier food. There is a fun foreign policy game making all the rounds in Washington D.C. this summer: Pin the tail on Barack Obama. Its appeal is not hard to understand; it´s so easy to play. Step 1: Pick a foreign crisis that touches even slightly on U.S. national security interests. This shouldn´t be hard, because the United States defines practically everything in the world as being an American interest.Step 2: Make clear that this is no garden-variety problem but rather "the defining crisis of [OBAMA´S] presidency," or a threat to the "very foundations of global order" or the answer to the question,

The No. 1 priority in electing someone after President Obama should be finding someone who does not believe the world conforms to his worldview simply because he says it does. It’s a very dangerous state of mind. Speaking at a $15K-a-plate DCCC fund raiser tonight, natch, CBS correspondent Mark Knoller quoted Obama: Pres Obama said “The world’s always been messy … we’re just noticing now in part because of social media."—if Knoller weren’t so serious, you could be forgiven for thinking it was satire. As we suspected, President Obama tried in his Wednesday-night speech to make it sound like he was doing something new when he, in fact, he is not. Moreover, in describing his response, he made plain that he doesn’t take the threat to the homeland seriously. For a threat his advisers say is greater than that posed by al-Qaeda after 2001, he proposed measures suitable for Yemen and Somalia. No, really — that’s the plan. For starters, the president doesn’t believe the Islamic State is a current threat to the U.S.: “So ISIL poses a threat to the people of Iraq

Rarely has a president faced a greater challenge in establishing his credibility for a new foreign-policy move than Barack Obama did in his nationally televised speech tonight. A CNN poll earlier this week found that just 30 percent of voters thought Obama had presented a clear plan for fighting the Islamic State. While Obama now pledges to ask Congress to train and aid Syrian rebels who would fight the group, voters remember that he backed similar plans in Syria in 2013, when his advisers saw Syrian president Bashar Assad as the major threat. President Obama just announced that he is bringing a counter-terrorism strategy to an insurgency fight. He was at pains to repeat the phrase “counter-terror” four times in a short speech. Noting that ISIL is not a state (partly because the international community thankfully does not recognize it), he declared, “ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple. And it has no vision other than the slaughter of all who stand in its way.” Neither of those sentences, unfortunately, is true. Throughout his presidency, President Obama has emphasized one point while talking about Islamist extremists: They are not practicing Islam, he has said, they are perverting it. He took that a step further Wednesday night. While announcing that he´s expanding the campaign against the Islamic State extremist group into Syria, Obama said flatly that this group, which is trying to install a caliphate in the Middle East, "is not Islamic."
