Obama on CIA Scandal:
‘We tortured some folks.’

PJ Media, by Bryan Preston

That was the most astonishing moment of today’s galling Obama press conference. President Obama had earlier lectured journalists how to do their jobs, ripped Republicans for doing their jobs, and chided everyone within earshot for not wishing him a happy birthday yet. After that descent into pre-teen self-absorption, the president was asked about whether CIA chief John Brennan had lied to Congress under oath when he said that the agency had never spied on senators and staff who were investigating the CIA’s enhanced interrogations of a very few al Qaeda terrorists. Obama glided past the actual question, other than voicing

I just cannot believe we are saddled with that disgusting Marxist political hack for two more years. We wouldn´t want to hurt any precious little terrorists would we? It just makes me go crazy! It´s obvious by their behavior all over the world creating murder and mayhem are never going to change, no matter what the pathetic Obama has to say. And those terrorists who were allegedly "tortured" deserved every bit of it.

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Democrats, Liberals, progressives et al say whatever they want to say to try to drive their agenda. It doesn´t make any difference if it´s true or not.

I´m really happy my remote has a mute button. Thank God the button can be accessed via muscle memory as the lettering has worn off it.

The words; Hope and Change, Torture have different meanings. I won´t vote for someone who uses vacuous words like Hope & Change AND my definition of Torture is not sleep deprivation.

Actually, I know many "progressives" who were tortured emotionally by the way Bush and Cheney were trying to hurt their proudly anti-American Islamist heroes. I´d bet anything Barack Hussein was one of them.

America never "tortured some folks". We tortured some blood-thirsty Muslim religious zealots who hate America and wouldn´t hesitate to torture Obama into the next century, given the chance.

Interesting is Preston´s observance of Obama´s juvenility when he writes, "After that descent into pre-teen self-absorption,....".

It is good to know that Obama´s immaturity and petulance, which has now evolved into pulling the wings off flies and kicking puppies (us), is recognized outside the blog-bubble. It is a most dangerous mindset when the most powerful man in the world is seen as stunted, twisted, juvenile with a chip on his shoulder.

This is the attitude that will eventually doom him. Already, he is having a hard time not getting the love he craves, so he gets attention the only way he can -- by hurting people who don´t kiss his ring.

I often wonder if this personality trait is why the Left wanted him so badly.

NOTE: Adolph Hitler’s favorite philosopher was Friedrich Nietzsche, an Atheist. Over one of the gas ovens at Auschwitz, there is a plaque that reads, “I want to raise a generation of young people devoid of conscience, imperious, relentless and cruel.”

I wonder if Neitzsche was among Obama´s favorite reads...

(And no, Hitler wasn´t a Christian, although he was baptized as an infant. No Christiand would have even considered the things Hitler did. (Stick with me here).

In fact, Hitler said he used Christian references in his speeches as pure propaganda. Privately, Hitler zealously abhorred Christians and Christianity. He went so far as to ban Christmas and to demand that the Hitler Youth worship him, not Jesus on December 25th.

Are you getting a creepy feeling yet?

Our "leaders" in congress - and the media - rarely are able to bring themselves to us the term "liar" to describe Obama.

But, with the exception of statements to his base promising to maladminister his office for their benefit, it is hard to find even one word or deed involving anything more important than pardoning the Thanksgiving turkey, where the man has been both truthful and intellectually honest.

His bald-face lie that "we tortured some folks" should not surprise us after the man appointed John Kerry, who appeared on the American political scene with possibly the most treasonable lie on record (Senate Foreign Relations Committee, April 22, 1971):

An illustrative verbatim excerpt from Kerry (a US Naval Officer in Vietnam):
"They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."

And Obama chose Kerry to head our State Department.
Enough said.

Agree with #1. Many people, Obama included, fail to see a distinction (and a difference) between punishment and torture.

I would call sleep deprivation punishment because it sets the occasion for subsequent avoidance reactions. And until better research becomes available, I´d say water boarding is predominately punishment because it too sets the occasion for avoidance.

Christopher Hitchens was water boarded and was convinced he was tortured. But his subsequent comments make me think he experienced severe panic and was punished, assuming he was left with no permanent physical or psychological damage.

I would have welcomed the opportunity to ask Chris about spanking a young child for running into a street. Is it torture if the child subsequently avoids the street?

Many questions remain. What forms of punishment are acceptable? Is water boarding ever justified--under conditions of war when many lives might be saved?

In my thinking, the pattern of adoring fans like those following Hitler, Saddam Hussien and the like, wake up and then the regime is ready for military action and police state when the fans turn against. He expects this to happen, doesn´t care and is prepared. Why else to you think they have purchased all the ammo, trained so many communities with tanks etc? They expect a revolt and then he
will fundamentally change this nation to a police state, then 3rd world dictator state, just as he promised. And, most of all he will go down in history for it. Take a bow, commie, pinko, fool. But, we are the biggest fools for being placated by handouts and not noticing. Well, not all of us.

If the US continues to decline, Barack Hussein Obama will be one day hauled before the International Court and charged with war crimes for the assassination of terrorist families with drones. Former CIA officers will testify that the authorization came from the President and that the only needed justification was being on his list. They will then testify that a legal opinion was later prepared to justify the drone use, but was highly classified.

A recently retired Secret Service agent told MailOnline on Thursday that former director Julia Pierson´s resignation will be welcomed by the agency´s rank-and-file because ´people in the service thought she was a joke from Day One.´ He attributed her swift fall from grace to a cadre of ´p***ed off agents who had had enough´ of feeling disrespected by the service´s first female director. ´Putting her in charge was part of the [Obama] administration´s push to feminize the service after the "hookergate" nightmare,´ the agent said, referring to agents who were fired after patronizing prostitutes during a security-check trip to Colombia

Deadly, irrational, and determined, the intruder snuck across a weakened perimeter. Eluding capture, the intruder was detained only after missteps and close calls. The spin began soon after the threat was isolated. Information was selectively leaked. Half-truths and untruths were uttered. Responsibility was avoided; privileges and credentials asserted; authority reasserted. Trust us. Remain calm. Don’t panic. This is the template of recent events. A mental case jumps the White House fence. He makes it to the East Room before he’s tackled by an off-duty Secret Service agent. Initial statements turn out to be misleading or false. We discover that lapses in

It’s the “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” A New York appeals court next week will consider whether chimps should have the same rights as human beings. The extraordinary proceeding is the result of a lengthy battle by animal-rights activists who argue that animals with human qualities — including chimps — are entitled to human protections, including freedom from captivity. Steven Wise, part of the Nonhuman Rights Project, which is leading the effort, will have to convince a panel of Albany appellate judges that a chimp name Tommy is a “legal person” to get him moved from a cage

President Obama was at Northwestern University on Thursday to deliver an economic speech that, he and his team hoped, would lay out the case for why the public is better off today than they were six years ago -- even if they didn´t feel it in their everday lives. Instead, Obama just gave every Republican ad-maker in the country more fodder for negative ads linking Democratic candidates to him. Here are the four sentences that will draw all of the attention (they come more than two thirds of the way through the speech): "I am not on the ballot this

A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. But recently, speculation is whirling that Romney may not be so adamant anymore. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story. We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.” That response, which

Meghan McCain joined the dog pile on the Secret Service this week, saying she’s had “nothing but horrible experiences" with the agency and likening the agents to “glorified mall cops.” The 29-year-old author and television personality, who is also the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), opened up on Pivot’s “TakePart Live” about some of her interactions with the Secret Service. "I have nothing but horrible experiences with the Secret Service,” McCain said. “One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don´t think that´s terribly far off. I found them cliquey. WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in

ATLANTA — Texas, America’s second-most populous state behind California, saw 13 of its last abortion clinics turn away women on Friday, after a federal appeals court upheld a law that practically guarantees that only a handful of clinics will remain open in the state. The strictest-of-its-kind Texas law requires abortion providers to build hospital-grade facilities and obtain sometimes impossible-to-get hospital admitting privileges. After signed into law last year by Gov. Rick Perry (R), the law forced most of the 41 clinics operating to close. Thursday’s ruling wiped out a brief victory this summer for abortion rights proponents,

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Tuesday signed into law a ban on single-use plastic bags, making California the first state to prohibit stores from using the ubiquitous carry-alls. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use. “This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press release announcing his approval. “It

The hawkish Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says he is thinking about running for president in 2016. In an interview with Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard, the senator, running for re-election to the Senate this year, said: “If I get through my general election, if nobody steps up in the presidential mix, if nobody’s out there talking — me and McCain have been talking — I may just jump in to get to make these arguments,” Graham said. Graham, 59, also dismissed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, 43, as a presidential candidate, saying he is too young. “He’s a good
