Chamber of Commerce to
Endorse Al Franken´s Challenger

National Journal, by Josh Kraushaar

The U.S Chamber of Commerce will be endorsing GOP businessman Mike McFadden in the Minnesota Senate race, the latest sign Republicans view Democratic Sen. Al Franken as increasingly vulnerable. "I´m honored to have their endorsement. They know Minnesota is a state we can win," McFadden said in an interview about the pending endorsement. The endorsement will be formally announced by the chamber Monday at an event in Burnsville, Minn. McFadden has been in Washington meeting with officials at the National Republican Senatorial Committee this week to discuss the state of the campaign. This year, the Chamber of Commerce has been aggressive in backing

Perdue ran ads before the Ga primary runoff pointing out Kingston´s endorsement by the CoC which was a factor in Kingston´s defeat. An endorsement from the CoC means pro amnesty, may not matter in a general election against a dem. It does mean that McFadden is not to be trusted if he does win.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee gives money and support to all Republican candidates running for the senate. They´re giving a big push to Joni Ernst, who is also endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce. Does that mean that principled conservatives should vote for her revolting Democratic opponent?

I like McFadden´s pee-wee football ´get to know me´ TV ad. McFadden plays the role of coach to an all-white team of Aryan-looking boys wearing white jerseys. Then there´s incredibly clever comedy of one player, confused when McFadden entreats then to ´get out there and hit´´ punching McFadden in the belly. Stupid. Juvenile. Witless.

As I recall, Joni Ernst has already won her primary race. So here, the CofC (spit spit) is not interfering between a Conservative and an Establishment/Incompetent candidate.

Take the money, Joni and put it to good use. If you win - and I fervently hope you do - but then capitulate to the Establishment position on amnesty for illegals, you will be a one-term wonder.

It would give me a bit of pleasure to see the CofC donate scads of money to good Conservatives who won´t be bought.

It has been the talk of the Poconos, and at times the nation, for the past 16 days: The ambushing of state police officers at a remote barracks in Pike County and the subsequent massive manhunt for Eric Frein after police identified him as the shooter. As of 10 p.m. Saturday, Frein, 31, of Canadensis, is still on the loose, and the search has not only brought national attention to the Poconos, but disrupted the lives of many, but mostly those living in Price and Barrett townships, where the search has been centered for more than a week. It also has brought a sea of law enforcement into the area, with a state police official saying that

Officials didn´t say when it would return to full service. Walmart has just announced it is moving forward this October with its latest evil plan to immiserate the American people: giving lower-income Americans cut out of the banking system access to a cheap checking account. The NYT: Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer, is teaming up with Green Dot, known for its prepaid payment cards, to supply checking accounts to almost anyone over 18 who passes an ID check. Daniel Eckert, senior vice president at Walmart, said on Tuesday that the accounts would be available nationwide by the end of October. For many, the Adrian Peterson child abuse case spanning Texas to Minnesota has been tough to grasp as, up until several weeks ago, he was viewed by most people who knew anything about him as a good man, not just a great football player for the Minnesota Vikings. Compounding matters is that the charges against him have exposed a parallel universe of baby making and child rearing that most Americans don’t get to see every day. But when they do, most find it hard to fathom. It’s not irrelevant to matters at hand that Peterson has fathered at least four children with perhaps four different women, including one who’s

Paul was in New Hampshire campaigning with Scott Brown and the state GOP two weeks ago. “We are getting an insane amount of requests from everyone who’s running,” a Paul adviser says. North Carolina is the most interesting stop for Paul, who endorsed, contributed to, and campaigned with one of Tillis’s challengers, Greg Brannon,

Part of the answer can be found in Henry Olsen’s helpful analysis, from earlier this year, of how exactly Republican presidential primaries tend to shake out. Olsen offered a four-group typology of G.O.P. primary voters — secular conservatives, religious conservatives, moderate

Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory. The 2014 election is rapidly looking like something new
