The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) hauled in $4.8 million in the past week as it warned of Republican efforts to impeach Preisdent Obama. DCCC chairman Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) tweeted out the news Friday morning, saying that more than 240,000 people had given to the committee in the past week. The $4.8 million in weekly fundraising is a new record for the committee. The weekly haul is also larger than some monthly fundraising totals for the DCCC in recent years. The Democratic campaign arm for House Republicans has led the National Republican Congressional Committee in fundraising this election cycle. The

Too bad they didn´t raise $4.8 billion. Then they could pay for the "border crisis" themselves. I hope/expect virtually every dollar spent by dims this cycle is a toilet flush. Then more they collect, the more they flush.

In any case, I am suspicious of this "we raised so much off impeachment". Its just another ploy by dims to shut down the GOP, and it almost always works. They are effing liars if nothing else. Why would I believe ANYthing they say.

Kind of sad.

Dem donors giving all this money to politicians to waste when it could be used for those humanitarian efforts that the Dems keep whining about.

Think of all those children who could be housed with $4.8 million dollars.

Senate Democrats on Tuesday rallied to the defense of a former National Labor Relations Board member whose previous appointment to the agency was deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Following a contentious confirmation hearing, the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee is expected later this month to send Sharon Block’s nomination to the full Senate over strenuous objections from the panel’s GOP members. Majority Democrats on the panel have the numbers needed to prevail in an upcoming executive session vote. Block´s confirmation is all but assured after that, given Senate rule changes allowing most presidential appointments to advance with support

Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday told House Republicans that the United States took its eye off the terror threat during President Obama’s watch. Cheney, who has repeatedly slammed Obama on terrorism since leaving office, told Republicans they shouldn’t let their guard down on terrorism, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) said. His appearance at the House GOP’s weekly conference meeting was notable, coming a day ahead of Obama’s address to the nation on the threat from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Cheney remains a divisive figure in politics, with many people blaming him for the unpopular War in Iraq. He’s

WASHINGTON — When President Obama addresses the nation on Wednesday to explain his plan to defeat Islamic extremists in Iraq and Syria, it is a fair bet he will not call them the “JV team.” Nor does he seem likely to describe Iraq as “sovereign, stable and self-reliant” with a “representative government.” And presumably he will not assert after more than a decade of conflict that “the tide of war is receding.” As he seeks to rally Americans behind a new military campaign in the Middle East, Mr. Obama finds his own past statements coming back to haunt him. WASHINGTON — Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky likes to note that he didn’t have a foreign policy three and a half years ago, when he was a full-time ophthalmologist. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas was an appellate lawyer in Houston before he was elected in 2012, a job that put him in front of judges, not world leaders. Gov. Bobby Jindal has little reason to worry that a foreign crisis is going to rock Louisiana. So when Condoleezza Rice, the former secretary of state and current Stanford professor, visited him last year they spoke mostly about education reform. As President

It’s back to school, where the little monsters will be whipped into productive members of society by disciplined, professional, and self-respecting teachers. There is just one problem: some “hip” educators responsible for molding young minds resemble beach bums, bikers, or bimbos. Let’s take a look at what’s going on in our schools. Modern teachers do not always resemble “the good ol’ days” of the clean, pressed, and buttoned up professional. Today “educators” show up for school in shorts, flip flops, un-tucked t-shirts, ripped jeans, yoga pants and “skimpy wear.” Just when children need to learn the lessons of respect, discipline,

Speaking at an event on business taxes at the Urban Institute in Washington, Lew placed the responsibility on Congress to address so-called tax inversions, but said that the administration was prepared to step in if lawmakers don´t move quickly enough.
