Obama warns GOP — I’m acting

Washington Post, by Greg Sargent

So today House Republicans may take one more stab at trying to pass a bill to address the border crisis. But their bill has been jacked so far to the right that Dems won’t support it, and at any rate, last night Republicans blocked the Senate Dem border proposal. So Congress won’t address the crisis until September at the earliest. The question now is how far this goes in clearing space for Obama to act alone on immigration — not just on the border crisis, but on easing deportations. And the president is letting Republicans know that they should be

With all the tear at your heart messages my questions are the where are the parents, who brought them here from such a distance, they did not arrive here on their own. Why am I responsible for someone having no care or concern for their children than to send them to a strange land and among strangers to take their responsibility for their offspring. Always the word children is used in propaganda for people to use emotions instead of common senses except for abortion.

Funny me! I thought he was President of the United States, elected to look after our citizen´s interests. He acts more like President of Mexico, looking after the best interests of her citizens rather than ours! Can someone explain to me how the actions he wants to take benefits the USA? Wish a reporter would ask him that!

#2, jack can be used legitimately as a verb: "jacked up his prices", "jacked up the car", etc. But no matter, I agree that beginning a sentence with "so" when you´re supposed to be serious isn´t that great.

As for the article: Obama is daring the GOP to impeach him. He wants it. I am still not certain that is a good idea, but I think Jeff Sesssions´ idea of pointing out, seriatim, all the legal violations Obama has perpetrated is a wise strategy.

We know impeachment cannot happen to the point where Obama is actually removed from office, so what is the next best thing? Drive down his credibility even further, especially among Democrats, by repeating, repeating, repeating his transgressions to the point where even the media takes notice.

I see that happening slowly. But the GOP has got to get the knack of repetition, like the liberals. They have raised to an art form the technique of repeating lies until everyone (almost) believes them.

We need only to tell the truth in the same way. Over and over again. Never stop. At some point, Obama will become persona non grata even among his fellow travelers.

Obama obviously believes that the Republicans should just pass any bill that the liberal Democrats put forth in the Congress. But if the Republicans did that they would not be Republicans anymore.

In years gone past the two political parties in the Congress used to be able to negotiate back and forth until an acceptable bill to both political parties evolved. Then a vote was held and the bill passed. Obama and Reid have no intention of ever doing that, the Democrats passing Obama Care on a Democrat one party vote without any Republican support is a prime example, and Obama and Reid are simply demanding that the Congress pass all liberal Democrat bills and simply shelve all Republican bills.

Under that politically charged scenario it is pretty clear as to why big ticket bills are not being passed at all.

LINCOLN, Neb.— U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts expressed concern Friday about growing partisanship in the judicial confirmation process and a public perception that politics factor into the court´s rulings. Roberts told an audience at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law that the partisan atmosphere in Washington would make it unlikely for justices such as Antonin Scalia, widely viewed as a conservative, or Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who is seen as liberal, to win confirmation today. He pointed to the most recent U.S. Senate confirmation of Justice Elena Kagan in 2010, which fell largely on party lines. Roberts said

Based on interviews with DNC staffers -- both former and current -- the piece described Wasserman Schultz as something of a modern-day Tracy Flick: over-eager, disloyal and not shy about promoting her ambitions.
