Boehner Tries to Resuscitate
Dying Border Bill

Breitbart Big Government, by Jonathan Strong

Original Article

In the Speaker´s lobby just off the House floor, members of Congress were full of recriminations over how the border bill had just died -- until it sprang back to life. House leadership has announced a 3pm special conference meeting to discuss the issue and raised the possibility of additional votes before the House departs for summer recess. The change is an abrupt shift from a decision to pull the bill and leave without a vote on it at all. According to Republicans familiar with the matter, the decision prompted a sudden and fierce backlash against Speaker John Boehner from

It sounds to me that Boehner is trying to appease all wings of his caucus. He needs to step up and lead. Listen to the people. No vote. If his members can´t go home and explain their position a meaningless vote isn´t going to matter.

They want to get legislation "done" before they go home and face their constituents. Of course they are such cowards that they will only have "tele-conferences" with their people.

I am so tired of the cowards that comprise the elite permanent political ruling class Rinos. The Leader is such a disappointment and will lead to the destruction of the country just to please the greedy Chamber of Commerce. Why is it so easy for him to abandon "we the people"?

Seems the majority of the ´folks´ believe the hand on the Bible, hand raised to mutter ´an oath´ is no more than a child playing a game of Simon says. They only play being a part of the government and listening to their constituents and speak on their behalf. So why take an oath? Only to be part of the masquerade! The House and Senate need a vast purification cleansing

Boehner should stop trying to please the Chamber of Commerce & try pleasing the people. 80% want the illegals sent back. Hey Boehner you´ve been working on the irs, fast & furious, Benghazi etc situations for years so work on the immigration bill a few more years. I don´t ever remember a party who dislikes their leader 100%. It´s usually the other party´s leader they dislike, not their own. Come on Boehner give us all a break & step down for the good of the party.

The two refused, saying they were not in a gang, and Mario Elvira, 18, pulled out a machete and struck the 26-year-old in the head, cutting his head and neck, police said. He and the others fled

As the U.S. military battles Islamic zealots overseas, there’s a similar, but much more genteel, religious fight now underway inside the U.S. Air Force. Thirteen years ago, the United States was changed in a profound way. A major attack on the homeland by a non-state foreign actor had never happened before, and the consequences — thousands of deaths, landmarks destroyed and damaged — were terrifying. The policy repercussions, from the Patriot Act to the Guantanamo Bay prison to wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to airport security measures to creation of the Department of Homeland Security to reorganization of the intelligence agencies, were even more far-reaching. In part as a result of these changes, the United States has gone for 13 years without another devastating

The new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll came out yesterday and it offers brutal news for President Obama and Democrats. It is worth looking at it in some depth. Overall, Obama’s job approval is unchanged, which might be called good news for the president, except that it remains at a low in this poll for the administration. Forty percent approve versus 54 percent who disapprove. This puts the poll toward the low end of the approval scale, but the NBC/WSJ poll is of registered voters, which probably makes it mildly less disposed to the president. The administration official calling House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) office last week had an odd request. Could the Justice Department get some help leaking information about the IRS’s scrutiny of conservative groups? asked Brian Fallon, a top spokesman for Attorney General Eric Holder. Apparently thinking he had reached the office of Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings (Md.), Fallon said the department wanted congressional staffers to get documents to selected reporters so that officials could comment on them “before the majority” did. After Issa spokesman Frederick Hill replied that Oversight Committee staffers would have to examine those documents first, the

Begich listed his Capitol Hill address for reimbursements on a number of publicly available FEC forms over the past year. This isn´t the only time Begich has opted to use his D.C. address over his one in Anchorage — he also lists his D.C. address as the mailing address on Anchorage municipal property records. In the 43 weeks since November 14, 2013, the show has avoided problems with the health care law and instead focused on extremely superficial topics, such as nude reality shows and the royal baby. When the Associated Press reported, "More people newly insured by Medicaid under ObamaCare are seeking treatment in hospital emergency rooms," the hosts of Nightline didn´t notice. Free money for everyone! With weak job growth, rising poverty, and the rich continuing to devour nearly all economic growth, it´s an idea that is gaining more credence. Arguments for a universal basic income (UBI) — in which everyone without exception would receive an equal stipend — have flourished in policy-centric areas of the internet, including The Week. Advocates of UBI see it as a blunter, more effective means of reducing poverty and shrinking the inequality gap.
