Wisconsin Supreme Court
upholds 2011 union law

USA Today, by John Bacon

Wisconsin´s controversial 2011 law that severely limited collective bargaining for public workers, sparked massive protests and drove the failed effort to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker was upheld Thursday by the state´s highest court. The Wisconsin Supreme Court closed the book on the last of the major legal disputes over Act 10, ending a three-year legal struggle with its 5-2 decision. The decision could energize the political career of Walker, who is seeking re-election this year and has not ruled out a 2016 run for president. The ruling came in a lawsuit filed by the Madison teachers union and a union representing Milwaukee

How about it, folks?

Let´s all unify behind Scott Walker for president. He´s about as good as it gets - - and we need unity to defeat the ´rats in 2016.

There are other good possibilities out there - - but let´s make Scott the one.

Odd that 11 of the 17 paragraphs in this USA Tooday is so Yesterday article are essentially an attempt to link Gov Walker to Karl Rove and the left´s targets of hatred, the Koch brothers. While the author notes that "A federal judge has agreed and twice ordered a stop to the investigation", the story dwells on an attempt to this partisan effort to link Walker to the Club for Growth and the incredibly successful and generous Koch family. Walker would make a fine president, which is probably why he has to be smeared by innuendo.

Donte Stallworth, the former NFL player hired to a fellowship at the Huffington Post, says that journalists Jeremy Scahill and Glenn Greenwald “catapulted” his interest in national security reporting. (Snip) As for Stallworth’s experience in writing stories, he cited two pieces that he’d done for the lefty website Think Progress — one on Michael Sam and NFL “distractions” and another on Robert Griffin III. According to Stallworth, that’s the extent of his published archive. But that doesn’t include Twitter, of course, a platform on which Stallworth has been prolific — perhaps too prolific. No casualties have been reported in the past 24 hours, military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said in televised remarks in the capital Kiev yesterday, the first time that’s happened since the insurgents unleashed a counteroffensive last month. Presidents Petro Poroshenko and Vladimir Putin spoke by phone on the progress of the truce, agreeing that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe should monitor the accord, according to the Ukrainian leader’s website.

Although few medical experts realize it, part of the population in West Africa is immune to the Ebola virus, according to virologists who specialize in the disease. Assuming they are correct, and if those people can be identified, they could be a great help in fighting the outbreak. Immune persons could safely tend the sick and bury the dead just as smallpox survivors did in the centuries before smallpox vaccine. Also, antibodies could be harvested from their blood to treat new Ebola victims. But many factors remain unclear, including which Africans have antibodies and how much antibody is needed to be protective. The
