Ex-IRS official Lois Lerner hated

Newly released emails by Lois Lerner, the former IRS official at the center of the tea party targeting scandal, show “deep animus towards conservatives, which she refers to as ‘—holes,’” according to a House committee. The emails were among a batch of new evidence the House Ways and Means Committee turned over Wednesday to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in support of an investigation of criminal wrongdoing at the IRS. “Despite the serious investigation and evidence this Committee has undertaken into the IRS’s targeting of individuals for their beliefs, there is no indication that DOJ is taking this matter seriously,” Rep. What punishment do you think would be appropriate for a conservative in Lois Lerner´s position who targeted democrats?

To the very last republican congressman, there would be insistence on a very long prison sentence. Here, to the very last democrat, there is circling the wagons.

Lerner lacks insight into her condition and her need for treatment, counseling and intervention. She thinks she is sane. Poor thing. Moreover, she was not ´warning´ of the e-mail misstep in the IRS when she mentioned all this at an open meeting--I believe that was code. She was bragging and letting them know she´d gotten away with it.

In an attempt to slow down the increase in food prices, the Venezuelan government has implemented a price regulation policy for many products, managed a large network of agro-industrial companies, and held thousands of hectares in the agricultural sectors. However, the results are below the expectations. Based on the figures disclosed by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), the average price of food and non-alcoholic beverages skyrocketed 210% in August 2012 - August 2014. Analysts attributed the leap mainly to the large number of bills printed by the central bank and thus injected into the economy to meet expenditure, which surpasses the

The Guarani tribes that lived in South America in the 17th century used to play a sport similar to soccer when the Jesuits arrived to establish their missions, claims a video based on historical documents released by Paraguay’s Secretary for Culture. Entitled “The Guaranies invented soccer,” the video collects findings made by anthropologists who studied the Jesuits’ legacy in the country. Jesuit chroniclers from the 17th, 18th Century wrote about a ball game played on foot called “mangai”. The ball was manufactured with the honey-like resin of a tree known as Mangaisi. “The Guaranis made a vertical incision on the tree

Venezuela´s annual inflation rate has risen to 63.4%, the highest in Latin America, according to official figures published on Tuesday. The figures are the first released by the central bank since May, which has led critics to accuse the government of withholding data for political reasons. The poor state of the economy, among other issues, triggered mass anti-government protests earlier this year. They have since died down, but many continue to grapple with shortages. The central bank did not publish its scarcity index, a measure of goods that are missing from store shelves, but shortages of basic items such as flour, milk and toilet

Numbers disclosed by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) show accrued inflation in 2014 hit 39% by the end of August, which translates into the highest increase in prices recorded over the first eight months of the year since 1997. José Guerra, former economic research manager at the BCV, explained that "demand soars because the BCV prints bolivars to finance the government, while supply declines due to a drop in imports, because there have been cuts in the supply of dollars. In addition, production has plummeted, especially food production." Over the last 12 months, the cost of food and non-alcoholic

Federal agents launched a series of raids in the downtown Los Angeles fashion district on Wednesday and seized an estimated $65 million in cash and other assets they allege were part of a widespread attempt by Mexican drug cartels to launder narcotics profits. Nine people were arrested in raids targeting 70 locations, many of them businesses in the fashion district. Federal officials said they believe the drug organizations have used numerous businesses in the garment district to convert their vast earnings into pesos, turning Los Angeles into a hub for “trade-based money laundering.”

As few as 2 percent of French women under 35 now say they want to bare their breasts, according to an Elle magazine poll this summer. As we suspected, President Obama tried in his Wednesday-night speech to make it sound like he was doing something new when he, in fact, he is not. Moreover, in describing his response, he made plain that he doesn’t take the threat to the homeland seriously. For a threat his advisers say is greater than that posed by al-Qaeda after 2001, he proposed measures suitable for Yemen and Somalia. No, really — that’s the plan. For starters, the president doesn’t believe the Islamic State is a current threat to the U.S.: “So ISIL poses a threat to the people of Iraq

Throughout his presidency, President Obama has emphasized one point while talking about Islamist extremists: They are not practicing Islam, he has said, they are perverting it. He took that a step further Wednesday night. While announcing that he´s expanding the campaign against the Islamic State extremist group into Syria, Obama said flatly that this group, which is trying to install a caliphate in the Middle East, "is not Islamic." President Obama just announced that he is bringing a counter-terrorism strategy to an insurgency fight. He was at pains to repeat the phrase “counter-terror” four times in a short speech. Noting that ISIL is not a state (partly because the international community thankfully does not recognize it), he declared, “ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple.
