Criticism arises after children are
rushed to see immigration judges

Los Angeles Times, by Kate Linthicum

Unaccompanied immigrant children apprehended at the border are being placed first in line to go before U.S. immigration judges under a new federal policy, prompting criticism from attorneys who say some immigrants have been given less than 48 hours to appear in court in states far from where they live.Faced with a surge of immigrants arriving illegally from Central America, immigration courts have begun realigning overloaded dockets to ensure unaccompanied minors get their first hearing before a judge within 21 days after Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials file a deportation case against them. Previously, immigrants waited months or more than

The real issue is the 48 hour wait in the first place.

Where is the detentions facility such as Ellis Island, where you have to wait before being admitted?

Then if you are not admitted, sent back on the same boat that you came in

Should be 48 minutes. Or 48 seconds. This is far beyond asinine.

The article somehow omits that fact that only 10% of illegals show up for their first immigration court hearing because there are no consequences for missing. And excuse me, but if the Los Angeles court needs a special interpreter for Spanish, they are doing a terrible job of hiring.

Notice that the article gives no indication that any of the illegal alien respondents were ever ordered to be removed from the country by those immigration judges. What the immigration judges actually did was either order a change in venue that allowed the illegal aliens to travel into the interior of the USA to have a hearing scheduled at some later date, or simply continued the hearing to some later date to give the illegal aliens an opportunity to get hooked up with an immigration lawyer.

Immigration judges in the last year have been approving illegal aliens for asylum in the USA in percentages of up to 65% thus according them the privilege of staying here, to access all sorts of social welfare and "Free" health care services. After two years each of those asylees are quietly accorded permanent resident alien (green card) status and disappear into immigrant communities all over the country with the right to bring their close foreign family members here in unlimited numbers. Five years after that they are granted what amounts to duel-national status with US voting rights.

The immigration court system is an administrative bureaucracy, they are not independent federal judicial courts. That esoteric bureaucracy is accountable to the Attorney General Eric Holder, and is made up of mostly liberal immigration lawyers who have been hired as immigration judges out of immigration law firms or the very liberal ethnic and immigrant advocacy groups, they are about the last people who would order any illegal alien to be deported if they can find some loophole in the law to keep the illegal alien in the USA. All the rules and operating instructions that the immigration courts must follow come down from Holder, and you can bet that they comport with Obama´s essentially "open borders" immigration policies.

Chaos, leading inevitably to acts of stupidy and acrimony. Gee, never seen this kind of thing before!

Sad part is, how many people are right in the middle of it, yet have no clue why it´s happening or how to deal with it.

What difference, at this point, does it make?

A new proposal for campaign finance reform would make Saturday Night Live’s political skits illegal, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz has warned. The Senate is debating a proposal to add a constitutional amendment allowing Congress reverse a 2010 Supreme Court decision and restore limits on corporate campaign spending. Republicans say the proposal, put forward by Dems, is an attack on free speech. Cruz, however, went one step further and connected the dots to NBC’s late-night sketch comedy show, and its exec producer Lorne Michaels. “Lorne Michaels could be put in jail under this amendment for making fun of any politician. Alex Hermann was struck by lightning Aug. 26 at a sports complex in Bee Cave, just west of Austin, and remains in a "semi-vegetative state," the family´s lawyer told KEYE TV. Thirteen years ago, the United States was changed in a profound way. A major attack on the homeland by a non-state foreign actor had never happened before, and the consequences — thousands of deaths, landmarks destroyed and damaged — were terrifying. The policy repercussions, from the Patriot Act to the Guantanamo Bay prison to wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to airport security measures to creation of the Department of Homeland Security to reorganization of the intelligence agencies, were even more far-reaching. The new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll came out yesterday and it offers brutal news for President Obama and Democrats. It is worth looking at it in some depth. Overall, Obama’s job approval is unchanged, which might be called good news for the president, except that it remains at a low in this poll for the administration. Forty percent approve versus 54 percent who disapprove. This puts the poll toward the low end of the approval scale, but the NBC/WSJ poll is of registered voters, which probably makes it mildly less disposed to the president.
