De Blasio voted for
luxury building ‘poor door’

New York Post, by Yoav Gonen

Original Article

Posted By:Ribicon, 7/29/2014 9:59:53 AM

Mayor Bill de Blasio and other officials denouncing “poor door” entrances for subsidized tenants in luxury buildings actually voted in favor of a measure that made such separation possible, a Post review found. When the lengthy text of a zoning resolution was amended by the City Council in July 2009, then-Councilman de Blasio — who arrived late to the meeting — was among the majority who voted “Aye.” One provision said developers of market-rate condos could include affordable units on site, instead of off site, while allowing for the separation of a number of services that included the entrances.

Comments:
De Blasio was for it before he was against it, and now blames his predecessor, "Republican" Mike Bloomberg.

Separately, the issue of separate doors for paying customers and those enjoying set-aside apartments illustrates the folly of forced co-mingling of different people in the same building, neighborhood, etc. This is a hot topic in London too; seems no one wants The Poor doing what they do in their elevators, lobbies, swimming pools, etc.

When you consider what the defecrats have done for Blacks over the past 100 years this is not difficult to understand. Deliberately ruining the Black family for political gain and greed greased with "benefits" is the most racist action in history! Why wouldn´t they segregate the poor from the rich? They´ve been the biggest promoters of segragation for over a century. They are masters of it!

Apparently, the builders of these luxury buildings fear commingling the apartments will cause the wealthy buyers not to buy.

In addition, these wealthy buildings have luxurious amenities such as gyms, pools, etc. There has been concern that the costs of those amenities would not be supported by the low-level "poor" apartment rents, and to offer them to the occupants of those apartments would also create a problem with New York City´s draconian rent-stablization laws.

The liberals have had an end result in mind for those luxury apartment buildings from the get-go that have subsidized housing for the poor built within them. But as the article points out, they have had to use incremental steps to get to their end result, in order to fool prospective builders, who would not be able to sell their luxury apartments to the rich and famous if the prospective paying apartment owners recognized they were to be co-mingled at the entrance to, and inside the buildings with the great subsidized unwashed of New York City.

Washington, DC — The House has passed a bill that could make it a little harder for people to use government welfare payments to buy marijuana in states where the drug is legal. Supporters call it the "no welfare for weed" bill. The bill would prevent people from using government-issued welfare debit cards to make purchases at stores that sell marijuana. It would also prohibit people from using the cards to withdraw cash from ATMs in those stores. The House passed the bill Tuesday evening on a voice vote. Pot smokers, however, could still use their benefit cards to get

As wildfires burned in California, a study by several major environmental groups estimated that climate change could mean that future blazes will be much larger and add billions of dollars to already costly losses. The 46-page study released Tuesday, titled "Flammable Planet: Wildfires and the Social Cost of Carbon," is part of an ongoing project by three groups to examine what it calls the missing risks, such as wildfires, that climate change can make more expensive. The groups are the Environmental Defense Fund, the Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law, and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
