Controversial conservative Sarah Palin has launched her own subscription-based online network in order to ´stay in contact´ with her supporters. And it only costs them $99.95 a year. The Sarah Palin Channel, which went live on Sunday, bills itself as a ´direct connection´ for the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate with her supporters, bypassing ´media filters´. Palin says she oversees all content posted to the channel. This will include her own political commentary. ´Tired of media filters? Well, so am I!´ the former Alaska governor says on the first video posted to sarahpalinchannel.com. Scroll down for video

Oh, I think she may have a chance. They will have to lower the cost a little though. Rush Limbaugh gets $6.95 for his radio broadcast. That´s about the going rate.

Well move over, Glenn Beck, there´s always room for one more! I could list the over-the-top conservatives I´ve listened to but wouldn´t pay for. But I don´t want to bash anyone on the right. Even Alex Jones & Michael Savage of The Savage Nation. America can never have enough voices calling for our country to come back from the brink.

I´ll be a subscriber to Gov. Palin´s channel! I´m confident her price will come down when she gets a big enough base.

I don´t think it is self-promotion or self-enrichment she is seeking. I think she is trying to capitalize on her name to get out the message we all need broadcast. Sure, it will be like preaching to the choir--but maybe it will be a way to get people more organized and motivate/incentivize others to take action. It is a bit pricey but I am sure it is not cheap to run a station. If she gets enough support, she will probably go commercial and cut the price.

In all likelihood, a hit piece stolen from one of Jon Stewart’s ‘Disparage Everything No Matter What It Is’ riotous routines.

From the SPC FAQ page:

"Is the Channel member only?"

"Yes, we have launched our video channel looking for the support of our community through subscriptions. We also feel that the community would feel more secure knowing everyone watching, uploading videos, and participating in the discussions and video chats was a contributing member and not anonymous."

"That said, you are free to share your favorite videos with your friends on Facebook and elsewhere, and if they click on the links you share they too will be able to watch the video you share (although not see or participate in the conversation around it). We think our videos are valuable to many, and encourage you to pass them on to friends in this way."

In other words, you don´t need to be a subscriber to access the content, but if you want to participate as part of the SPC community, it does require a membership.

Establishment Rovian hacks don´t understand the private sector or the interrelationship between free markets, free expression and free enterprise. Markets are things lobbyists rig and tamper with on behalf of chamber of commerce donors, free expression means planting stories or posting antiPalin stories herein and free enterprise is for suckers who can´t live attached to government money in some form or other. So the mock horror that this self promoting huckster is only in it for the attention is entirely predictable. The painted ladies of the RNC are certainly conformtable with the concept of giving it away for free, most of us admire Palin´s vision for getting the message out. Joe Kennedy figured out movies and pictures with sound, LBJ figured out rural radio, Reagan understood TV, Limbaugh, talk Radio, Vigurie-- direct mail, Buckley- the political magazine, Drudge, the internet, our esteemed hostess of this fabled salon, the power of online Chat, Breitbart......and Palin appears set to master the power beyond the limits of what traditional broadcast media allow. Both a message that can´t be filtered and the means to disseminate that message even if networks go dark.
Put that conservative message in Spanish simulcast and the usual suspects on this site will have a collective stroke.

(Video) Iowa Republican Senate candidate Joni Ernst released a trio of ads on Thursday emphasizing her military service in Iraq. The radio and TV ads feature testimonials from Iraq War veterans who served alongside Ernst, a lieutenant colonel in the Iowa National Guard. The commercials highlight the continued emphasis national security issues have received in the deadlocked race between Ernst and Rep. Bruce Braley (D), whom Republicans have repeatedly hit over veterans issues. The contest to replace retiring Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) could decide which party controls the Senate next year. In the wake of President Obama’s speech yesterday at the U.N. General Assembly, there were reports of another chemical weapons attack near Damascus launched by Bashar al-Assad’s regime. If true, Assad is just drawing the logical conclusion from the president’s speech and the administration’s actions over the last several weeks. The policy of the Obama White House is to target Sunni extremism. That means that Assad and his partners in the Iranian resistance axis are virtually untouchable. Indeed, the administration advised Tehran before launching strikes on ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra Monday that the strikes would do no damage to the

AUSTIN — A Houston lawyer is alleging the prosecutor handling the indictment against Rick Perry is over-charging taxpayers for his services, breaking the same law the governor stands accused of violating. In a criminal complaint sent Monday to the Travis County district attorney’s office, Houston criminal defense attorney David Rushing says special prosecutor Michael McCrum is abusing his official capacity by billing the county $300 per hour, or more than three times the highest possible rate set by a state law. Travis County’s guidelines for the law, however, make it possible for an attorney in McCrum’s situation to earn less

President Obama today will sign a proclamation creating the largest marine reserve in the world – three times the size of California, totaling 490,000 square miles. The move is a six-fold expansion of the existing Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument, which covers several small U.S.-controlled islands and atolls in the central Pacific to the west of Hawaii. It’s existing size is just 87,000 square miles. The designation bans commercial fishing, dumping and mining in the national monument’s waters, home to “deep coral reefs, seamounts, and marine ecosystems unique to this part of the world among the most vulnerable areas

It’s oddly fitting that Attorney General Eric Holder – a stubbornly independent career prosecutor ridiculed by Barack Obama’s advisers for having lousy political instincts— would nail his dismount. But Holder, who began his stormy five-plus-year tenure at the Justice Department with his controversial “Nation of Cowards” speech, has chosen what seems to be the ideal (and maybe the only) moment to call it quits after more than 18 months of musing privately about leaving with the president and senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, a trio bound by friendship, progressive ideology and shared African-American ancestry.
