Glen Beck´s Kinder, Gentler
Exploitation of the Border Crisis

American Thinker, by John T. Bennett

Original Article

Glen Beck’s “charity” charade is neither conservative nor, in my opinion, Christian. This nation’s charitable impulses have already been exploited beyond belief through decades’ worth of lax immigration enforcement. The most likely outcome of Beck’s “charity” act is that it will diminish the rule of law and undermine conservative goals. With his flippant gift-giving, Beck (and his colleagues like Dana Loesch) will make it harder for America to reduce illegal immigration, maintain our sovereignty, and restrain the welfare state. How could teddy bears and soccer balls have such an impact? The short answer is that giving door prizes to illegal aliens

Beck had to know he would get blasted for this. If this were really a Christian act of charity he wouldn´t be blasting it from every microphone he can find. The PR must be worth it.

Isn´t it Glenn Beck, not Glen? Sloppy writing not even having the name of the subject of the article spelled right.

Beck is a visionary and a very informed talk show host and producer. What he isn´t, is humble. Since in our time, appearances and "optics" matter, he is legitimately taking heat for this stunt.

He also tends to lecture his listening audience, which I think is getting on some nerves. But he does what he claims he thinks is "the right thing to do". That he may be wrong I am certain occurs to him, but like people who won´t vote for an impure Republican because they fail the one-issue litmus test, he would rather assuage his own conscience than to do what will get the job done.

First, you win. You don´t hiss off your friends by following your own drummer.

Nonsense. Teddy Bears and Soccer balls are a symbolic way of saying that it isn´t the fault of the children that they are interred in refugee camps. At obama´s very blatant invitation, these countries are sending them here because they were promised amnesty, healthcare, financial support and who knows what else. Obama and the hispanic lobby are the cause of this catastrophe. If Beck can get a little publicity out of it, that´s his prerogative. He isn´t harming anyone, just drawing attention to the situation.

First off, Glenn Beck no longer considers himself to be a Conservative but is now claiming to be a Libertarian--without, in my opinion, knowing exactly what Libertarianism entails. Secondly, he´s become somewhat Messianic and more than a little unhinged--also my opinion. Gave up on him ages ago.

Ok, minor comment: Glen is NOT a Christian-know he calls himself that, and wraps his opinions around the "Bible". But he is a practicing Mormon, and his religion says that the Bible is so full of errors that it cannot be trusted. Mind you several Mainline Protestant documentations are saying same thing-but the Mormon faith throws out far more, and keeps only the moral teachings, or at least their version on them. Being kind, compassionate and ´good" does not, alone, make one a Christian.

But I find it easy to intensely dislike him now for the harm he is causing to the US...and especially for luring Dana Loesch and TED CRUZ to get caught up in his sick scheme...just when it was CRITICAL that conservatives present a united front.

Beck is expendable; the others are not.

Political pollsters have a tough job. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory.
